An extremely flexible, modular digital fixed link system, the GL offers a

remote RF head (to 23 GHz) and internal RF modules (to 14 GHz) for fixed
link (STL, TSL, ICR) applications. Through interface modules, the mainframe can be configured to meet any application now and in the future.
Central to the GL is the internal bidirectional modem card, configurable
for single carrier QAM or COFDM modulation, at rates up to 155 Mbps, in
duplex or split modulation modes.
Optionally, users can select internal RF modules for existing waveguide
installations or external RF Heads (using low cost coax cable) (high and
low power heads available) where long waveguide lengths are expensive
and suffer high losses.
Available T1 and E1 interfaces transport PBX and RS 232/422 traffic
as well as audio and control signals. An Ethernet interface is available
for Internet and Intranet traffic and is multiplexed on the carrier as ASI.
Internal MPEG2 encoder options support legacy CVBS video signals,
while digital services can be added by the internal multiplexer input.
The GL can optionally provide internal transparent multiplexing for transport of streams without re-mapping. Up to 8 streams can be muxed with
complete transparency. Hot standby, ASI switching, automatic logging of
15,000 alarm events, 100 to 240 VAC and 24/48 DC power options, full
Java web interface and dedicated remote program control over Internet or
Intranet, are just some of the features that are standard.

The Analog Coder2, is a cost-effective solution for upgrading an existing

analog microwave link to handle a variety of digital signals and now can
accept input data rates from 1 to 25 Mbps. Signals such as the ATSC
19.39 Mbps data stream plus a T1 data pack can be transmitted without
any loss in signal quality. The inputs and outputs are DVB-ASI and
SMPTE-310M. Features include an integrated multiplexer/demultiplexer
and multiple I/Os 2 ASI or 1 ASI and 1 SMPTE-310 signals.
The Analog Coder2 is ideal for single or multi-hop links. HDTV/DTV signals
have been transported through a 24-hop repeater system using the Analog
Coder2 without any degradation in signal or picture quality. The ATSC/
DTV + T1 data pack are modulated onto a 1 Vp-p baseband signal. This
baseband output from the modulator is inputted to any analog microwave
link. The Analog Coder uses a proprietary modulation design that offers
excellent link performance and reliability. Forward error correction using
Reed Solomon, Viterbi and Interleaving along with highly efficient adaptive
equalization are provided to overcome frequency selective multi-path and
adverse environmental conditions. The forward error correction automatically adjusts to adapt to local conditions.

The RPS (Remote Paint System) camera control option is an upgrade

package for the CamPac2/Newscaster DR2 wireless camera system
that is ideally suited for sports and entertainment applications. The RPS
overcomes a typical limitation of wireless cameras, where remote access
to the wireless cameras remote control port is not available. This makes it
difficult to match the iris, color balance and pedestal settings of wireless
and wired cameras. The wireless cameras other parameters such as
skin-tone detail, tally, gamma, knee and other menu functions are totally
lost and cannot be controlled by the remote studio operators.
The addition of the RPS solves this problem by allowing total remote
control of the wireless camera using the original manufacturers remote
paint panel. By fully integrating a separate data channel within the RF
link between the CamPac2 transmitter and Newscaster DR2 receiver,
true bidirectional data communication is maintained between the remote
control panel at the wireless camera at all times. This link permits complete real-time control of all critical parameters that are available within
the panel or cameras feature set, just as if it were hard-wired together,
ensuring the highest level of quality in ENG and EFP productions.

exclusive inertial measurement unit (IMU), heading sensor and two-axis
steering not only point the antenna accurately to the receive sites heading, but also compensate for the aircrafts pitch and roll. Additionally,
SkyLink HD accounts for the altitude of the receive site so the system can
maintain the correct elevation angle at all times. This feature dramatically
reduces the ground reflection multipath that is caused when the aircraft
banks.
To complement the two-axis steering, SkyLink HD uses narrow vertical
beam antennas optimized for the band used. In addition to the standard
transmit antenna, the SkyLink HD supports a wide range of duplex receive
modes as well as dual-band configurations. Options are available for 2
GHz , 4.9 GHz, 6.4 GHz and many others.
Installation is now easier than ever as well. The SkyLink HD only
requires the C100 control head to build a complete transmission
system. With the C100, control of all microwave equipment including
antennas, radios and encoders is integrated into a single 5-inch, panelmounted controller. Full support for third party radios is provided without
the need for additional control heads.

The Newscaster DR2 is a split box HD/SD COFDM diversity microwave receiver intended for outside broadcast and other mobile video applications.
Its stylish rugged machined housing provides durability and excellent
thermal characteristics for operation in the harshest of conditions. The
receiver has four RF inputs that communicate directly with the systems
external intelligent receivers in 1.99 to 2.70 GHz and 6.40 to 7.75 GHz.
Other bands are available. The use of external intelligent receivers allows
the receive antennas to be remotely mounted.
The DR2 receiver can be configured with dual or quad diversity demodulators using maximum ratio combining, which significantly improves the
robustness of higher data rate COFDM modulation. Spatial diversity
increases system performance by digitally combining signals with different
characteristics. This essentially fills in the gaps in the channel and provides
improved path reliability. The built in spectrum analyzer gives an instant
analysis of the selected channel and can be used to minimize multi-path
or see if the channel is clear from interference, individual antennas can be
switched off as required to maximize link reliability.

The RF Central RMR-X6-II-D software-defined, six-input digital diversity

receiver provides maximum ratio combining, DVB-T receive capabilities,
ASI output for forwarding the stream, UDP streaming over IP (Ethernet)
and an internal MPEG2 SD/HD decoder.
The unit is controllable via the front panel, RS232, or Ethernet.
The RMR-X6-ll-D has six antenna UHF RF inputs that interface with
external Block Down Converters (BDCs) to provide superb maximum ratio
combining capabilities. The maximum ratio combining function automatically chooses the best signals from the six antennas and then combines
them to improve the SNR. This advanced process of combining multiple
weighted and received SNR values enables the unit to provide seamless
360 degree coverage, without the need for sophisticated GPS tracking
systems.
The unit is powered by either 9 to 36 VDC or an external 110/240 VAC
power supply. The 2 RU x half rack configuration of the RMR-X6-II-D
maximizes space efficiency in busy control rooms/command centers.
