verges, small internal parks, channels to accommodate stormwater and extensive landscaping of the servitude

amenities.
The project is currently in implementation and implementation is done in Phases.

Low Income Housing Development. Landscaping included all road tree planting and verges, small internal parks
and sporting facilities. Creative implementation with a limited budget allowed for solutions to create dignified
spaces in an impoveridged area.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:


Commercial Shopping Development. Landscaping incorporated the existing trees on site and the existing
drainage lines and water systems. The pedestrian movement was a strong design influence. The parking areas
were carefully considered to create the least amount of impact on the environment.
The project is still in the conceptual phase/early stages of design.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

SPORTING AND A 2010 TRAIING FACILITY


DEVELOPMENT INCLUDING
Mixed - use Development. Landscaping incorporated the existing trees on site and the existing drainage lines and
water systems. An extensive tree survey was done on site and certain tees were identified that were of value.
The existing sportsfield was incorporated and a creative and ecologically sound approach was taken to incorpo-
rate the river edge. The stormwater management on site was an important influence on the design.
The project is still in the early stages of design.

ERF 12010 D’URBANVALE - RESIDENTIAL DWELLING
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

A residential dwelling in a Ecological Estate. There were severe constraints in terms of conservation areas on site.
These areas were dealt with in a creative manner to incorporate them into the overall design without the risk of
damage to the areas. This was accomplished by means of a redirected wetland area as a buffer.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

A residential dwelling in a coastal area. The brief from the client was an “english type” garden with tranquil
areas, but it must accommodate her two active children and an entertainment area.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

A residential dwelling in a coastal area. The brief from the client was a low maintenance garden with indigenous

yet colourful plants. The challenge is that the garden is right on the sea edge and the choice of plant material
was essential to a successful design. There was a very close interaction between the architect and the interior de-
signer to accomplish the ultimate design and to accommodate the client’s wishes.
