Pasado simple del verbo to have
Don't forget that you use the verbto have in the normal past tense with a different meaning: Tomar-se
In this case the affirmative past tense remains the same but we change the verb when we put it in negative and interrogative as follows.

We contract the past auxiliary verb and the itemnot as follows :

They didn't take a walk in the forest

When we make this verb interrogative, we place the past auxiliary verb in initial position :
