Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites

Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Community of the Sacred Heart, Frederick, Maryland

Our community will meet on the Second Sunday of Ordinary Time, January 17, 2010 at St. John
the Evangelist Parish in Frederick. This is our first meeting of the new year, our first meeting of a
new decade. Our December meeting was cancelled due to that record snowfall so this January
session will be particularly joyful as we come together for the first time in two months. As St.
Teresa says: “What a great favor God does to those He places in the company of good people!”

Our Vision is to Live the Teresian Way:
As faithful members of the Church, "in allegiance to Jesus Christ" through "friendship with the One
we know loves us" and in service to the Church. Under the protection of Our Lady of Mount Carmel,
in the biblical tradition of the prophet Elijah and inspired by the teachings of St Teresa of Jesus and
St John of the Cross, we seek to deepen our Christian commitment received in baptism.
