Whittle Dream House

Personal

This house design on a 90 x 90 lot was

supposed to be my dream house to build and
reside in. It is the motivation for pursuing an
architecture career. It consists of three
bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, a full basement, two living rooms, a breakfast and dining
area, and a backyard swimming pool.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

Boston

Wentworth Institute of Technology Fall 2012 ARCH 155

Professor: Thomas M. Lesko, Architect
Historical Documentation/Abstraction
Students were asked to document an important Boston
architectural landmark through hand-drawing and writing
an essay on the building.
For this project, I chose to document the Isabella Stewart
Gardner Museum in Boston, across the street from the Back
Bay Fens. The original Venetian Villa (1903) was designed by
Willard T. Sears and the most recent contemporary addition
(2012) was designed by Renzo Piano.
Additionally, students were asked to pick apart the threshold
of the revolving door of the Piano addition and make and
abstraction of it.

Parish of All Saints Ashmont Dorchester, Mass.

Wentworth Institute of Technology Fall 2012 ARCH 155
Professor: Thomas M. Lesko, Architect
Historical Documentation
Students were asked select a moderately-sized Boston
architectural landmark and document it through handsketches.
For this assignment I chose to document the Parish of All Saints
Ashmont in Dorchester, Massachusetts. This Anglo-Catholic
parish, consecrated in 1895, was the first church designed by
Ralph Adams Cram and a complete historic preservation was
completed in 2015.

Cut-Fold Origami
Wentworth Institute of Technology Spring 2013 ARCH 175
Professor Alexandra Dupnik
Students were asked to take a dress pattern and follow directions
in where to make cuts and folds. These resulted in the design of
abstract models that resemble Japanese origami.

Intervention
Students were asked to visit the exterior of the Christian Science
Colonnade Building (designed by I. M. Pei) and document an area
between four columns, where in turn students were asked to
design office space for a disabled poet and professional dancer.

Parker-Terrace Site Mission Hill, Massachusetts

Wentworth Institute of Technology Fall 2013 ARCH 210
Professor Jennifer Lee Michaliszyn
Design Intervention
For this project, students were asked to intervene on a slopped
vacant lot owned by the City of Boston in the Mission Hill
neighborhood. Initially, I chose to make a pathway with four
different activity areas: a cocktail patio, a childrens play area,
a recreational area, and a picnic area. The program was then
revised to have an enclosed restaurant with indoor and outdoor
spaces.
