May 2015
2015 is the year in which we commemorate the 70th
Anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz Concentration
Camp (27th January 2015) and also the liberation of many
other camps. To commemorate this we have been asked to
organise this Pilgrimage once again this year. This year we
have been able to organise the Pilgrimage to take place entirely during the May school half-term.
After the time spent in visiting and in reflection at Auschwitz our focus then changes to spending time walking in the
footsteps of St John Paul II.

PARISH DIARY
Father God,
Help St Gabriel's to respect all members of our community
through love, faith and belief.
Allow our mission to help us recognise the value of others
and our own potential.
We thank you that we can celebrate our faith freely and
aspire to make a positive Christian Contribution to society.
Amen
St Gabriel, Pray for Us.
FR JOHN CRIBBEN
Sadly we have to report the news that Fr John Cribben
died suddenly on Tuesday morning.
Fr Cribben (J.T.) was my predecessor as Parish Priest
here at Guardian Angels. He served here from 19861995,
working hard in our parish, ensuring that we have a wonderful
parish centre, and transforming so many aspects of Parish life
during his time of ministry in the Parish. He made me so welcome when I was appointed here, and we were fortunate to have
both of us here for his final and my first weekendthat kind of
transition hardly ever happens!
He was generous with his time and talents, and helped so
many people to take an active part in the life of the Parish.
He will be sorely missed in our Diocese. Please remember to pray for him, his family, and his parishioners at Our Lady
& St Patricks, Walton-Le-Dale, and also at St Mary & St John
Southworth Parish, Salmesbury, which he was also responsible
for during these past few years.
As with all sudden deaths, it takes quite some time for
funeral arrangements to be made. At this point there are no details of his funeral available. With the Office being closed this
week, I would suggest visiting the Diocesan website, where
details will be posted as soon as they are announced by the Diocese.
As a Parish we will remember J.T. and celebrate his life
and ministry at a special Memorial Mass (a months mind) on
Tuesday 3rd March at 7.30 pm (we have avoided the half-term
break). More details to follow.
May He Rest in Peace.
CONGRATULATIONS
To Guardian Angels Primary School.
