Accessing SAP
New users must complete the following steps to begin using SAP:
1. Install the SAP GUI on your workstation. Use the IBM
Standard Software Installer (ISSI) if available.
2. Get an SAP userid and password using local procedures.
3. Customize your SAPlogon pad to add the SAP systems you
will access. Use the icon
added to your desktop when
SAP GUI is installed.
4. Access the SAPlogon pad and select
the system you want:

the TAB key, mouse,

Changing Passwords

The first time you log on


with a new ID, a prompt
for a new password
appears.
To change your
password at other times,
complete all required
fields and then click the
NEW PASSWORD
button.

the command field, and click
the green checkmark or the
enter key.

Click "New session" to start a


new session.
To end a session, click the
session number before clicking
the "End session" button

Closing Sessions
The SAP status bar displays the active
session number
Close an individual session using the
menu path:
System > End Session or the command "/i"
Logging off will automatically close all
active sessions. It is not necessary to
close each session before logging off
