Lillian DeWaters, student of Mary Baker Eddy spoke often of Ontology.

Her first
books were through the Christian Science organization, then she went out on her
own, forming her own publishing house, and went beyond the limits of the "religi
ous dogma" which sometimes inhabits organizations and inhibits the Teaching.
The main difference between her teaching and that of Christian Science and much
of New Thought, is that she regards Jesus and Christ as inseperable - One and th
e same God, and in this sense her teaching is much more inline with that of orth
odox Christianity.
Like her mentor Mary Baker Eddy, De Waters regards mental healing and spiritual
healing to be two quite different things.
In her book The Christ Within she says:
Right here let the reader be fully familiar with the difference between mental h
ealing and spiritual or divine healing. Mental healing uses the power in the ind
ividual mentality with which to heal, saying that the individual mentality is Go
d. Mental healing is a process of thought, wherein the healer sends from his own
mind thoughts of health, strength, power, peace to the mind of another who has
called upon him for help, or, in the case of self-healing, wherein the individua
l would help himself.
These thoughts of the healer have birth or origin in his individual mentality, a
nd, as the river can rise no higher than its source, so one's idea of what is ri
ght and true "treatment" can rise no higher than his own viewpoint.
Spiritual or divine healing is not based on the healer nor the patient nor the m
entality of either nor is it based on any mental cause or mental effect of that
cause. Spiritual healing is based on CHRIST and REALITY. It lifts the vision fro
m the mind, from the thoughts, from the self, to the great I AM, and it bases al
l its declarations on Truth, on Reality, and the finished perfection of God and
man.
Spiritual healing is not based on any method or any system of any individual on
earth, but it is founded on Jesus Christ, Himself, and His teaching. Any books,
based on the Bible, that point away from the self to Christ, Truth, are based on
the Rock against which the gates of hell cannot prevail. . . .
. . . The reading of spiritual books causes the reader to cease his own thinking
, and to look on High, receive, feel, experience that which quickens him, blesse
s and illumines him. He forgets himself, and for the time lives in Spirit, above
the body, and, later, when he takes up conscious thinking, he finds great uplif
t present, joy and gladness, for has he not been viewing heavenly Realities, lis
tening to supernal glories, touching divine heights?
If one would hear, he must listen. If one would see, he must watch. If one would
receive, he must be still.
Let it be understood, it is the Spirit in another that beareth witness of the Tr
uth; the personal individual does not impart Truth to another. There is but one
Path and there is but one Spirit. Acknowledge Truth when it blesses you. As no d
ay is like another, though it is all the one day, so there is but one Voice: tho
ugh many messengers, each bearing Truth according to his vision of Truth.
Let each follow the Christ urge within him. When we find the Living Bread within
, then we are able to recognize the Living Bread without, in books. All that inspi
res us to higher action is beneficial. Many prepare the way for us to higher thi
ngs, while but One consummates it.

The Light that one sees is not his, but is The Light of the World. The Truth tha
t one feels is not his, but is the Truth of the Eternal. The Way that one finds
is not his, but is the Way of Life. The heavenly Bread that one inbreathes is no
t his, but is the body of Christ. The Living Water that one drinks is not his, b
ut is Inspiration from on High.
Rejoice in all books that have raised your vision. Books that cause you to chang
e your thinking into better thoughts are helpful on the way, yet, when the time
comes and the Voice whispers to enlarge our borders, let us be obedient. The wat
chful student ever knows when the Spirit bear witness. We overcome the world whe
n we understand that Christ in us hath already overcome the world. When we recei
ve from above, it is to us a revelation, yet, each one receives the same Word, a
nd hears the same Voice, and sees the one Christ. We are all stars in the one Cr
own, drops in the one Ocean.
Here is what she had to say on her discovery of TRUTH:
Today, nearly the whole world is giving attention, is some way, to the great tri
angle,---the Truth (God), the student (man), and the problem (human existence).
We all know that problems continually come and go and that man changes his ideas
all the time. . . while to God, the Truth, everything remains invariable, and w
ithout shadow of turning.
Undoubtebly, we have all placed ourselves as students endeavoring to apply Trut
h to our earthly problems. Reader, have you not done this very thing?
Suppose that all knowledge of Truth we possessed were inadequate to solve our pr
oblems. We might search for more knowledge, and greater ability to make use of i
t, but the demands upon us might increase, and the problems seem never to cease.
We often long for that place where we rest, with no thought of an earthly probl
em. Have we not all entertained such a wish?
Invariably it takes flash of light to reveal the true meaning of Life and of al
l things to us: nor can it be obtained in any other way.
As the veil lifts, one moments sudden revelation completely rearranges and shift
s our viewpoint; and the scene abruptly changes. In fact, this was exactly what
happened to me one day while in deep meditation.
I was considering Mathematics, its students and problems, when suddenly it dawn
ed upon me that the Student-position, which I had assumed, was certainly an unre
liable and unsound one.
As this actuality burst upon me, breathlessly my heart cried out,----oh to be th
e principle instead of a student!
Instantly there followed a moment of shining light with its electrifying transfu
sion, sudden and swift. As though a curtain had been raised admitting some start
ling new sight, I saw the indisputable fact with vivid, clear distinctness--I sa
w that I was the Principle. . .not a student at all!
Under this flood of blazing revelation, what else could I do but exclaim further
,--Why, this means that I am the TRUTH! I am not a student trying to solve probl
ems of human existence, but I am the absolute and changeless Truth itself! The
simplicity of all this amazed and overwhelmed me. Here in this brief but thrilli
ng moment, I saw what years of study and research had never given me.
Immediately, I then understood Jesus' dynamic statement, "I am the Truth!" Yes,
this was it. I was not a student of Truth, endeavoring to obtain and attain ce
rtain states of consciousness, always letting go one for another higher on the s

cale. No, I was the Truth itself!

What more then could I ask? What more could be desired? Did Truth, or true Being
, have any association with a problem? Certainly not. Neither, then, did I!
"I am the Truth!" exuberantly I told myself again and again, in my newly found c
hanged relationship. I am not trying to do, to think or to know something; but I
am doing, feeling and being Truth, the Life, and the Way! Oh, the blessed wonde
r of light!
I saw then that the problem of human existence could never be solved....but will
dissolve when we take our rightful stand as the Truth, the Life and the Way.
Now once having seen and accepted this platform, all other speculations immediat
ely vanished, while beautiful verifications in Jesus" life and teaching came flo
oding my rapturous thought. How plainly now to see that Jesus never said that he
was a student of Life, but insisted, "I am the Life! ". Neither did he intimate
that he was a follower of some particular way or system, but again and again re
iterated, "I am the Way!"
No wonder he was so absolute, so completingly certain and sure. Never did he spe
ak nor act as though he were using Truth as a means to bring about certain heali
ng results in a material existence! His attention was NOT towards conditions, st
ates nor beliefs, but upon that Being which is unalterable; that Principle which
is fixed and absolute; that Life which is wholeness always . . .Against such th
ere is no law.
Reader, Know thyself! Learn who and what you really are; the meaning of life an
d the fullness of all things. Then for you, wars and problems will cease and be
no more; sorrows and limitations fade away; for finding yourself as you really a
re, you shall be in touch with every good and perfect thing; and shall live here
on earth a life of peace, joy and plenty.

She wrote many books including the following:
In "The Hidden Truth" (1919) she writes: "We have all been in this same wildern
ess of doubt and mental darkness. Those of us who have emerged into the vestibul
e where spiritual sense unfolds the great facts of existence can, if we choose,
light the way for our friends and thereby, perhaps, save them many heartaches."
In "The Finished Kingdom (A Study of The Absolute)", (1924) she writes: "The Fin
ished Kingdom opens up the realm of the super-Kingdom. In this book is presented
the Science of Reality, the Science of the Absolute. It lifts one into the real
m of intuition, inspiration, illumination, faith - the realm of the Fourth Dimen
sion or Cosmic Consciousness. This book presents a quality of consciousness that
transcends thought, a something that precedes thought and directs thought.
In "The ONE (A Study of The Absolute) (1927) "Why is it more difficult for some
to understand Absolute Science than it is for others? Understanding is not a men
tal function. Understanding is spiritual consciousness. Many have spent years in
the study of Truth yet have not fulfilled the desires of their hearts because t
hey have tried to mentally acquire Truth instead of to spiritually understand it
."
In "The I AM THAT I AM (1938) we read: "As fuller revelation dawns, we see that
it is God's man (for there is not other) rather than "mortal man," who entertain
s the dream of separation and so must waken and become disillusioned, (just as t

he prodigal did), and return to the truth of Being.

"The Great Answer (The Message of Ontology)" was published by Lillian DeWaters i
n 1940, and "Greater Works" in 1946 in which she writes: "Those who are prepared
for these days await them with Praise and Thanksgiving---and joyous Expectancy.
To us, the question is not if God is on our side, but are we on God s side? How s
hall we know? Very simply. Do we have continuous Light and Illumination in our h
eart? Do we have Love, Unity and Freedom? Let each one answer these questions fo
r himself."

Witnessing "My Own Shall Come To Me" as the consciousness of Oneness is deepened

Pre-Class Lesson
The experience of the individual who attains the consciousness of oneness is tha
t all good things, conditions and amounts without having to take thought, and wi
thout effort, "come" or "are witnessed" becoming whole and fulfilled.
Life and every condition and circumstance corrects or resolves itself, "heals."
The individual who lives and moves and has his or her being in Oneness behold ex
perience fulfilling itself wherever he is, and for whomever or whatever enters h
is consciousness.
All beings and things "heal," harmonize, prosper, pacify and become "good." Trut
h reveals itself as "human" good and harmony. In Truth all is already one presen
ce, life, thing, amount and activity in perfect order, completeness, and self-in
clusive fulfillment. It is the "you" and "me" who know this truth and who rest s
ilently and receptively in It that reveal the harmonies and treasures of Truth a

s everything everywhere of "this world."

Truth Is Already Demonstrated

Truth is already demonstrated. There is no "un-demonstrated" or "unmanifest" or
"intangible" or "invisible" Truth, God, Spirit, Consciousness. All is One and pe
rfectly visible and tangible to and as Its own, yet invisible to a "different" c
onsciousness (untruthful, "material" consciousness).
Like experiences like. Always remember this. Everything you see, hear, taste, to
uch and smell is your current state of awareness (consciousness) -- nothing more
, nothing less, nothing different.
Whatever you believe to be "reality" is the substance and form of
your every experience.
It is very much like having blinkers on, or looking at the world through a pinho
le. Your experience is no more and no less than that which is visible and tangib
le through the blinkers or pinhole. Every second and form of your current life e
xperience -- every every circumstance and condition, without exception -- is the
result of the "blinkered" or "pinhole"
consciousness -- the degree of "material" consciousness you are entertaining.
Yet what you actually are and what you have at your every moment's disposal is i
nfinity and unbounded freedom of all. You are the spiritual being living in the
spiritual universe. That being has complete freedom of awareness and expression
-- no limit, no bound, no lack, no separation, only infinity at hand, joy and pu
rpose as your every thought and activity, unity as and with all beings and thing
s, oneness as your expression, love as your every experience.
It is on this very point that students who try to "demonstrate" what they believ
e is still "un-demonstrated" fail to experience Truth. Try as they may, study as
they may and sit in silence as they may they cannot witness health or wealth or
harmony or love or freedom or fulfillment of being, and it is for just one reas
on: they believe some form or amount or condition of good has yet to be witnesse
d or demonstrated.
They are mis-identifying being. They have "human" or "material" awareness instea
d of spiritual. They do not have the God -- Truth -- consciousness, therefore ca
nnot witness It.
Let's hear it again: like experiences like. The consciousness that is not "like
Truth" cannot witness Truth. Whatever individual consciousness is "being" is the
witnessed experience of that consciousness, that individual. Consciousness and
experience are one not two. Consciousness is experience.
It makes no difference what aspect of life is of interest to us at any particula
r moment: health, wealth, love, opportunity, freedom, purpose, safety, security,
morality, justice, peace, world harmony. We will not be able to evidence the tr
uth no matter how long and hard we work on the "it" of it as it appears to human
experience. It is only as we awaken to the Truth that all good already Is (God
already Is) and we therefore cease from attempting to "manifest that which is no
t yet manifest" that we discover our consciousness is now "like Truth" and we st
art witnessing the miracles that our life, body and world actually is.
Only Truth can witness Truth. A consciousness that does not know and live by Tru
th cannot witness It. Untruth cannot witness Truth anymore than dark can witness

light. "Know the truth, and that very truth will set you free."

Wholeness And Perfection

(the Finished Kingdom)
Already Is
Utter completeness -- utter oneness and nowness of all experience -- is the only
Truth of being. Oneness, omnipresence, is by definition already whole and selfcomplete.
Oneness, omnipresence, already is and has the infinite whole of Itself -- otherw
ise it couldn't be Oneness, it couldn't be Omnipresence. Nothing of the infinite
is missing, lacking, incomplete, separate or apart from the very "here where yo
u are" because you are That.
Completeness is what you are and have this minute because Oneness is the only Tr
uth of being. Not one thing or amount, not one aspect of fulfillment is separate
or apart from you this minute. Your being, your world and everything of the wor
ld are one, not separate and apart, not
different entities existing away from you "out there" or out of
reach or requiring effort or skill or spiritual knowledge to
attain.
No! All is One and You are That oneness. You are the oneness of being with infin
ite ALL already embodied in and as your consciousness -- the infinite treasures
of life, happiness, true and substantial purpose, limitlessness, effortlessness
and eternity at your fingertips and as your every breath.
Your very being is the One Being, World and infinity of Form, utterly fulfilled
in all aspects of experience. There is no "other" being, no other "type" or "cho
ice" of being than fulfilled Being. God is That and God is All therefore You are
That, I am That, All is That.

My Own
Now we come to a fascinating -- perhaps the most fascinating -- aspect
of Truth: "you" versus "me" versus every being past, present and future.
What did the poet know that enabled him to write, "My own shall come to me"? Wha
t Truth had he discovered that drove him to write, "time, nor space, nor deep, n
or high can keep my own away from me"?
Listen deeply:
God -- Spirit, Truth -- is ONE, fully manifest, visible and tangible to and as t
he whole of Itself, yet seemingly unmanifest, invisible and intangible
to the "blinkered" or "pinhole" five sense awareness.
Every being and object is utterly unique and individual. God is ever unique, new
, and entirely purposeful -- the Purpose of Life Itself, alive as
You, Me, All.
Think about this; think about you. Think more deeply about Truth being the Only,
therefore Truth being the Whole existence and purpose of Itself as You -- the f

inished kingdom of God, Paradise, Wholeness living a "material sense" of existen

ce as the you you are and the me I am.
Think of Oneness and Wholeness in the same way as you realize that the whole of
gravity is "here" as each step you take. Gravity is indivisible. The whole exist
s at, and as, every point of itself simultaneously and is utterly unique as each
step of its experience. If we were to examine it, indeed each step of gravity y
ou experience is individual and unique. Not one step is ever be the same, a repe
at or duplicate experience. In the same way, not one drop of the ocean is the sa
me or a repeat or duplicate
of another.
Each is utterly and thoroughly individual and unique, right down to its cellular
, molecular and atomic structure. Not one snow drop or dew drop or ray of sunshi
ne or flower is a duplicate of another. With never-ending, unbounded and omnisci
ent newness, every being, form and expression is "born" utterly individual, uniq
ue, intelligent, extraordinary, phenomenal, inimitable, unequaled, divinely exqu
isite and purposeful as the unmitigated, forever-greater fulfillment of that ver
y being, form and expression of life.
Now you see what "you" and all beings are. Immeasurably more than any step of gr
avity, drop of ocean, ray of sunshine or flower you, I and all "human" beings ar
e the "highest" (highest awareness) of all Creation's embodiment. The Master ref
ers to this with his statement, "If God so clothes the grass of the fields, how
much more does he clothe you?"
Although you as you know yourself (the human you), and all persons as they know
themselves, are "part" of the one whole collective "human" consciousness, each b
eing, thing and condition is utterly and thoroughly unique and individual.
You are the divine purpose Itself, in full existence here and now as you. The Wh
ole exists at, and as, each "part" of Itself at the same
time. Yet each "part" is utterly unique, special, purposeful and individual. The
"part" you are and I am is the Whole expressing Itself individually, uniquely a
nd forever purposefully and self-complete.

Fulfillment Of Being
You have true and exact reason for being the expressing life you are, in and as
this very world experience. Nothing -- not a single form, urge, activity, or bre
ath of your being -- is purposeless or aimless or "just happening."
No! Everything of absolutely everything about you -- right down to the
very cellular, molecular and atomic structure of you -- is the One Being -- the
finished kingdom of utter Truth and freedom of Being -- being the entirety of Cr
eation omnipresent as you here, now, forever.

No Separation, No "Inner" No "Outer"

You are spiritual being living and moving and having your life in the spiritual
universe: omnipresence Itself.
All is One, not two. There literally is no "inner" or "outer." There is oneness
only. There is no "separation" or "difference" between what you or I sense as th

e pure Consciousness of You and the five sense experience of your "human, worldl
y" life, moving around in this 3 dimensional degree of consciousness.
Your mind is -- despite what "you" think your level of spiritual awareness is -the one infinity of spiritual awareness, intelligence, love and union of all, a
ltogether embodied and manifest. It is time for you to be more fully aware of th
is truth. Then you witness it.
Your body is -- despite what you think about it, or what your bodily experience
is at this moment -- the one, divine omnipresence embodied. Your body is nothing
but life Itself, vitality Itself, freedom and eternal beauty Itself. It is now
time to be more fully aware of your truthful body. Then you witness it.
Your "supply" of any and all form and amount including dollars -- despite what m
ay or may not be visible to your senses this hour -- is infinite and fully prese
nt and manifest at your feet and in your hands this minute. It is time to be mor
e fully aware of the infinity of all form and amount you are and have. Then you
witness it.
You are and have love and relationship this minute despite what the mind reports
. You ARE love and you HAVE love because "I and the father (love) are one." It i
s time to awaken more fully -- more consciously -- to the love you unconditional
ly are and have. Then you witness it.
You are the freedom and satisfaction of home and security. Despite what the mind
reports the very being you are -- the very life and presence you are -- IS home
because all is One not two, not separate, not different, not "out there" needin
g to be gained or improved. It is time to become more fully aware of the Truth o
f home. Then you witness it.

The Uniqueness Of You

You ARE and HAVE the fullness of purposeful expression. You are omniscience Itse
lf in full embodiment, full expression, full blossom. The greatest fulfillment o
f life is to "hear" your unique purpose of being and let it flow as whatever for
m of expression ("work" or "business") it happens to be.
Remember, there is not a single "un-purposeful" being or body or
life or expression in the entire infinitude. You are and have exact purpose, exp
ressly unique and deeply fulfilling as your being in perfect synchronicity and o
neness with and as all.
You are and have divine expression that embodies the reason Life is being you. I
t is time to understand your true self more deeply, more spiritually, more trust
ingly and start "using" and "flowing out" your talent to benefit the world (see
Matthew 25, the Parable of the Talents). It is only as you express your being, y
our talent that evermore and ever- greater degrees of your completeness of being
become tangible to you.
Realize that every one of your unique ("personal") desires -- those "ideas" or "
talents" or "work or business expressions" that feel good to you -- ARE YOUR TRU
THFUL, UNIQUE AND INDIVIDUAL EXPRESSIONS
BEING FELT BY THE MIND.
Each true desire you feel within is the self-completeness of itself -- omniprese
nce Itself -- the already whole and complete Oneness of
fulfilled talent and expression of you -- being felt or "witnessed fully embodie

d" by the mind.

The trouble is the mind "sees darkly" or "partially." So it doesn't trust or suf
ficiently believe that the deep-felt desires are true and real. They are. More t
han true, they are already fully manifest and finished simply awaiting your rele
asing them, stepping forth and doing them in strength and confidence of being.
It is the flowing forth as your truthful expression that serves the world, and e
nables you to give evermore of your talent, your substance, your charity, your l
ove. Only giving of your truthful being enables you to experience the deep fulfi
llment and purpose of your life.
Only by truly knowing the "inner invisible of you" as the same one
being, embodiment and expression as the "outer visible of you" do
you discover the infinity, freedom and fulfillment of life.

To Reveal All Harmony "Coming To You"
An extraordinary class series came forth last weekend. It reveals how we attain
the consciousness of oneness that is able to "be in this world but not of it" -how our truthful harmony, peace and abundance of life is experienced here and n
