Following are the roles and duties completed by me during my 10 weeks stay with Beca:x

Calculated the bored pile and RC pile carrying capacities through the interpretation of the
provided soil investigation report;
Compiled a tender document for the advanced instrumented ultimate load tests;
Provided structural scheming of the 3 residential towers; computed the column loads to the
foundations; and determined the number of piles for the building foundations;
Coordinated the structural layouts with the project architect and the project M&E engineer; and
Managed the production of the necessary structural drawings with Becas remote resource centre
in Jakarta, Indonesia;

Ongoing B-tech Project: Economic mechanization of Putty application. Designing of a

machine that is more efficient, economic and the one which save labour and time during putty
application on the needy wall. The project is financed by the JK Wall Putty.
Building Design:- Analyzed and designed a 3 storey educational building, taking earthquake and
wind issues into account, under the guidance of Dr. Sudhir K Jain.
Made a Prototype of the elevator system that can be used in the construction site for lifting the
materials to a great height using gear system.
Geology Camp, Nainital: Analysis of mode of formation of rocks, study on river action and its
changing course over a period of time.
Survey Camp, Nainital: Plot the map of a hilly terrain using Plane Tabling and determined the
reduced level (RL) of 5 different points placed far apart (not all points are intervisible), using
Theodolite and GS5 (GPS), given a known point.
Visit to water treatment plant and waste water treatment plant: Exposure to all the processes
employed to meet the standards before distribution of water to nearby areas and disposal of
waste water to nearby stream (Ganges).
