We gather today as Gods beloved children to worship our Heavenly Father.

We praise his

St. Paul Lutheran Church is a congregation of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America (E.L.C.A.). It is referred to as
Borchers since Rev. Henry Borchers, who
served our congregation from 1857-1881,
advised and influenced a small group of
pioneer settlers that wanted to establish a
congregation in the area. This year we
celebrate 162 years of life and ministry in this
beautiful country setting in Southern Indiana.
We look forward to many more years of
growth and change as we seek continually to
be faithful to Gods call to mission.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion is

offered at the 8:00 a.m. services on the 2nd

and 4th Sundays and at the 10:15 a.m. service on the 1st and the 3rd Sundays of the
month. Christians who believe in the true
presence of Christ in the bread and wine for
our forgiveness and salvation are invited to
receive Holy Communion.

Sunday School classes are held each Sunday for all ages at 9:10 a.m. Visitors are
welcome to attend.
HEARING ASSISTANCE: We have

head phones available for those in need of

assistance with hearing. They are located on
the table at the entrance of the sanctuary.
LARGE PRINT BULLETINSThere

are a handful of large print bulletins available. They are located on the table at the entrance of the sanctuary.

Readings for the Day:

Isaiah 55:1-5: God invites Israel to a great feast at which both

food and drink are free. God also promises to make an
everlasting covenant with all the people, with promises that
previously had been limited to the line of kings. As David was a
witness to the nations, these nations shall now acknowledge the
ways in which God has glorified Israel.

Matthew 14:13-33: Matthews gospel typically portrays Jesus

disciples as people of little faith who fail despite their best
intentions. In this text, we hear of Jesus preforming many
miracles of curing the sick and then feeding over 5000 people
with 5 loaves and 2 fish. Then after these miracles Jesus comes to
the disciples when they are in trouble and sustains them in their
time of fear and doubt.

Questions To Ponder:
1 Why was the crowd following Jesus?
2 Why did the disciples want to send the people away?
3What is the significance of the miracle of the feeding of the
5000?
4 Why do you think that Jesus sent the disciples ahead of
him?
5 Why are the disciples afraid on the boat?
6What does this text said to us today?
