Help on change Approver name format in HR

Self Service
This question is Not Answered.
Hi,
we use the AME to approve leave of abscences through SSHR but the Approver names are
displayed with the format last name , first name.
How can i change it to display the full approver name or to be the first name , last name?

Hi Please can you check what is the name format displayed in the other screens like Employee Self
Service, People Find Window screen, User > Employee field etc.
Also, what is the format displayed in the Global_Name column of the per_all_people_f table,

Hi Nitin,
The format in all forms are full name but in the field Global_Name is last name, first name as in
self service, how can we change it?

Hi Smarteng,
As far as I know AME picks up the approver name from Table PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F stored in the
column "GLOBAL_NAME/LOCAL_NAME".
So if you want to select the name in right format you need to correct the entry of this table and for
that you need to follow below steps:1. Select responsibility HRMS Manager
2. Select function "HR Name Format" under menu "Other Definitions"
3. Chnage the format as per need.

In addition to the steps mentioned above. Run the concurrent program "Update Person Name" with
the required parameters.

Hi Avinash,
i did the steps you mentioned but the global_name field was not uodated , do i've to update the
global_name field manually?

Hi all,
i've change display name format type from the HR Manager responsibility to the required format
, the run the request Update Person Names , but the table still display the old format! Is there any
missing step?or i have to choose another format type and update it?

Hi,
I think only new entries to the table will be as per the format. Try creating new employee record
and check.
Also, please check some profile option value "'HR: Local or Global Name Format"

i've created a new employee and the same issue exits!

i think the format type i've to change is not the Display Name
Do you have any idea regarding the format type to be changed?

Hi,
The issue has been resolved after updating the format type List Name with required format , then
run the Update Person Names request.

Hi,
Sorry gents, the table values were updated by the correct format , but the Self Service page still
display the old format! i checked all fields in the per_all_people_f there's no any value matching the
displayed format on Self Service Page! i also changed the profile option HR:Display Person Name
to be Full Name.
i don't know from which table the AME reads the Approver Name.
If you have any idea , please respond.

Finally it's working!
We must run the Synchronize WF LOCAL tables request after the above steps to update the
workflow tables.
