Stopsley High School & Community College

A Specialist Sports College

19th January 2015
Dear Sir/Madam
Invitation To Participate In Our Worktree Event!
I write to invite you or a colleague to attend an employability skills event at Stopsley High School. We
will be running a number of Worktree sessions in April 2015 and would very much like you to be
involved.
Each session will be an hour long (with a short welcome beforehand). You will be one of a number of
guests being interviewed by students in groups of 3 in a rotation, speed dating style. The Year 8 (12/13
years of age) pupils will be interested to hear about your business, your personal career story and the
decisions and route you took to secure your role. They may also ask about the sort of duties you fulfil
and skills that are required in your position.
We hope that these sessions will help the young people begin to better understand the world of work
and also give them an opportunity to improve their speaking and listening skills. Research shows that
interaction with current employees has a proven impact on student outcomes.
We hope that you are able to support us in this endeavour by signing up to as many sessions as you
wish on the slip below and returning it to:

or by emailing your response to: rgeorge@stopsleyhighschool.co.uk
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
