I. Introduction
1. Definition
i. Term: Virtual Memory Paging File
ii. Genus: A computer information
iii. Differentia: about where computer processes store information normally
stored in a memory storage location called RAM.
2. To increase the performance of you computer, set the Paging File in an
appropriate size.
3. To access the settings where you can adjust the Paging File, you must be logged
on to your computer as an administrator or at least have administrator privileges.
4. Open the control panel, Select System and Security, click Advanced system
settings, click Settings under Performance, Click the Advanced tab then click
Change then Click Custom size.
II. Step by Step Definition
1. Open the Control Panel by clicking on the Windows icon on the left of the
taskbar below the desktop then clicking on Control Panel.

In the left pane, click Advanced system settings. If you are prompted for an
administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide
confirmation.
4. On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
5. Click the Advanced tab, and then, under Virtual memory, click Change.
6. Click Custom size, type a new size in megabytes in the Initial size (MB) or
Maximum size (MB) box, click Set, and then click OK.
III. Conclusion
Increases in size usually don't require a restart for the changes to take effect, but if
you decrease the size, you'll need to restart your computer. It is recommended that you
don't disable or delete the paging file.
