1. Discuss the roles, responsibilities of a Project Manager.

A Project manager is a professional in the field of project management.


Project managers can have the responsibility of the planning, execution and closing
of any project, typically relating to construction industry, architecture, etc.
The project manager is responsible for managing the projects scope,
schedule, and cost to support the sponsors expectations for the successful
completion of the project. Typical duties include: managing, team leadership,
monitoring schedule, recommending corrective action, providing input, ensuring
guarantee, main focal point with liaison with other departments, and has direct
responsibility for all project tasks & participants.

2. Compare and contrast: Project Organization & Management


Project Org. An act of organizing or the state of being organized; An organic
structure; manner of being organized; Any unified, consolidated group of elements;
systematized whole; especially a body of persons organized for some specific
purposes as a club, a society or union
Project Mgmt. - It is the art of:

understanding the requirements of the project,


identifying the deliverables that produce the solution,
Assigning to accomplish the objectives within the specified time constraints
and within budget.

3. Give the 6 Ms of Organization and define each


Men- are the different members of the organization starting from the very top
of the last workman in the enterprise.
Material represents the materials necessary in the distribution of functions
or in the attainment of its objectives
Machine - the tools necessary in producing its desired output
Methods - the procedures and ways used in the course of its action
Money - the financial sources of the organization
Market - the potential source of profit of an organization.

4. Who are the different Project Participants? Discuss the roles &
responsibilities of each.
Owner( Private or Government)- the financer or sponsor of the project
Architect/engineer- the one in charge in supervision, planning, directing,
controlling the project activities

Developers/Builders- the contractors, subcontractors, or can be the sponsor


of a particular project
Consultant/specialist (design, management. Construction and other subspecialties)- the adviser, assures quality and provides techniques in
consulting the project
Others (Involve in construction)- workers etc.

5. Enumerate the different stages of the Project Life Cycle or Project


Chronology and discuss the ac tivities of each stage/phase.
