What is Community?
Community is a place where people build, unite and harmonize. It should be able
to provide all the necessities of its people. It is a zoned area where residential,
commercial, industrial and agricultural are being planned and located.

What is Community?
The community should provide all the basic necessities of all the people living
there such as food, shelter and jobs. There should be complete amenities like churches,
barangay hall, stores and mode of transportation. People should help each other and
treat themselves like family.

What is Community?
For me, community is a place wherein there is a harmonious relationship of its
citizens and its surroundings. There should be a livelihood to generate source of income
and a living for the people. The community must provide the needs of the people like
food and shelter. Laws and ordinances should also be implemented to provide peace
and order in the community. People should follow rules and regulations because that is
all for their good.

What is Community?
Community is a group of people that act as one. There is a coordination and
unity. Cohesive in nature.

Interview a professional in community planning which you portray in the group


activity.
As I portray as a government official in planning a community, I chose to
interview a barangay captain in our town in Mariveles, Bataan. The details of the
interview are as follows.

Q: What is community for you?
A: For me, community is a place wherein there is a harmonious relationship of its
citizens and its surroundings. There should be a livelihood to generate source of income
and a living for the people. The community must provide the needs of the people like
food and shelter. Laws and ordinances should also be implemented to provide peace
and order in the community. People should follow rules and regulations because that is
all for their good.
Q: Who is in charge of the community planning here in our barangay?
A: All the officials in our barangay, including barangay kagawad and sk chairman have
always make time to attend meetings regarding on the projects to be implemented in
our barangay. All should give their own opinion and ideas that can contribute to the
development of the barangay.
Q: As a captain, what is your role in planning a community in our barangay?
A: As a barangay captain, it is my duty to implement programs and projects regarding
the planning of the barangay. Project proposals, development and investment plan set
by the municipality of our town should be observe if it can affect the community. As a
leader, I have the responsibility to provide solutions to the issues and problems facing
by our barangay.
Q: What are the projects and programs that help to improve the community?
A: In our barangay, livelihood programs were introduced such as cooperatives which
produces income. Training programs and educational programs were also given
importance to make our youth knowledgeable for their future. Roads and infrastructure
were developed to provide good transportation. We are following the projects and
programs being taken by the municipal department in accordance of the annual income
given to us.

Q: What do you think is the best solution for a good community?


A: I think there should be a harmonious relationship between the government and the
people. Barangay officials should provide the necessities for its neighborhood while
people should follow the rules and laws set by the government, because these are all
for the common good.
