ADOPT- A BARANGAY

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
This Memorandum of Agreement, executed and entered into by and between:
The Soroptimist International of Caloocan City, a non-government organization
organized under Philippine laws, with principal address at No. 8 UE Tech Road, University Hills
Subdivision, Caloocan City, Philippines, represented herein by its President, Ms. Aurora M.
Torres, hereinafter referred to as SICC;
and
Barangay 15, Zone 2 of Caloocan City, represented herein by its Barangay Captain Sixto
Soriano, hereinafter referred to as Adopted Barangay.
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, the SICC is a volunteer services organization whose members contribute
efforts,time and financial support to community-based projects,
WHEREAS, the Soroptimist International of the Philippines Region (A Foundation), Inc.
wherein SICC is affiliated has conceptualized a program called Adopt-aBarangay desgined to improve the socio economic conditions and physical well-being of the
people in a community;
WHEREAS, Barangay 15 Zone 2 is one of the marginalized communities within SICCs
territorial limits needing assistance and is not a beneficiary of any other non-geovernment
organization;
WHEREAS, Barangay 15, Zone 2 will greatly benefit from the services that SICC will
provide to make the community a better place to live in;
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the foregoing premised and of the
covenants hereinafter set forth, the parties hereto have agreed to work hand and hand to attain the
objectives of the project by undertaking to do the following:
I
OBLIGATIONS OF THE PARTIES
1. SICC shall:
a. Adopt Barangay 15 Zone 2 from February 26, 2015 to December 26, 2015.
b. Provide livelihood training services to help alleviate poverty or to provide
additional income for the family. The trainings are sewing, waiters course,

bartending, housekeeping, flower making, flower arrangement, cooking and other


livelihood trainings which the community may need.
c. Conduct seminars on human rights or women and children, parent-child
relationship, on human trafficking to prevent innocent women and children to
become victims of evil recruiters.
d. Conduct medical mission, seminars on proper nutrition, good health habits and
waste management.
e. Provide other services that will uplift the status of women and children.
f. Monitor the implementation by the residents of the knowledge and principles
gained in the seminars, trainings and activities.
g. Evaluate the success of adopting Barangay 15 Zone.
2. Barangay 15, Zone 2 shall:
a. Accept and cooperate in the implementation of the projects.
b. Designate and make necessary arrangements for a place in the community where
the services can be done.
c. Mobilize the people in the community to attend the services or activities.
d. Implement in the daily life of the residents the knowledge gained in the seminars
and the livelihood training as necessary.
e. Also monitor the implementation by the residents of the knowledge and principles
gained in the seminars tranings and activities.
f. Voice out problems in the adaptation of the programs
g. Serve as a a model to other barangays.
II
SCOPE AND FREQUENCY OF OPERATION
The Adopt-a-Barangay program will cover the entire Barangay 15 Zone 2 in Caloocan
Ciyt. The Barangay services will be carried out twice a month.
III
AMENDMENT
The parties hereto may, upon mutual agreement, amend, alter or modify this agreeemnt at
any time by an Amendment duly signed by them.
IV
EFFECTIVITY
This Agreement takes effect immediately and will continue to be in full force and effect
until December 26, 2015.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Agreement to be executed
by their duly authorized representatives this 26th day of February in Caloocan City.
