3. PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRITION

The proposed system will provide assistance in creating and evaluating online examinations. Internet will be
used as a media for generation and evaluation of tests, thus maintaining a uniform pattern for all the
examinees throughout the organization.

The proposed system can also be used by faculty members to create question papers. They can provide a
question bank consisting of questions of varied difficulty levels. Numerous sets of distinct question papers can
be printed, consisting of all type of questions in equal proportion. The same can be put to use in corporate
organizations and universities or colleges.

Our application provides a web-application to the user (faculty) for making or generation of the paper or for the
evaluating the answer sheet and also store the marks of each students separately.

c. Summary of the Invention

The aim of this project is to create a web application which can be used for the generation of the
exam paper
and assessing the same online. The application should be able to store the marks of the students for each
subject.
Our web application provides an application to the faculty for storing questions, generating static or dynamic
papers from the pre-defined templates or user defined ones and also evaluating the answer sheet of the
students.
The user interface of the web application is very simple and appropriate. It is easy to understand. It has been
developed keeping in mind an average user.
The application developed is not an entirely new concept. It is inspired from the application provided by the
Gujarat Technological University for evaluating the answer sheet and many others available in the market.
d. Objects of Invention

The main purpose of the system is to efficiently evaluate the candidate thoroughly through a Fully automated
system that not only saves a lot of time but also gives fast results. Another purpose is to generate questions
papers in a static as well as a dynamic way such that paperwork is saved and a question paper is generated in a
most efficient way. It is a cost-effective and popular means of mass- evaluation system. The
administrator/Authorized Personnel of the system prepares the tests and questions for each exam. The project
can be extended to a variety of functionalities related to the document editing and management.
This application can right now provide basic storing question and evaluating answer sheet facilities.
The sole aim of this project was to provide a web application which is able to generate the question paper as per
the requirements and save the evaluated answer sheet marks in the database.

It also provides some basic function like adding the questions to the central database in numerous ways such as
adding question based on unit, chapter as well as the topic. It also provides the feature of retrieving the question
from the database to create the exam paper- statically or dynamically. Another, feature that would be beneficial
is the feature of predefined templates that would be helpful in quick generation of paper when the paper style
does not matter. Moreover, it gives the facility of evaluating the answer sheet and storing the respective marks of
the particular subject in the database.
We will basically implement all the normal and simple functions required in such applications and add some new
features that would make an application worth using it the field of education industry.
We will also establish an authentication procedure which would help to maintain the security of an application in
which all the faculties who register themselves for the first time would have to be approved by the Head of
Department which would be received by him in form of notification.
