Warning notes
To avoid injury to persons, damage to property or the environment, the following warning notes should be observed!

Read these Operating Instructions before putting the demo

case into operation
Keep the Operating Instructions in the pocket inside the
demo case
Do not open the front panel. Do not interfere with or modify
the demo case
The KF8893... must only be used for demonstrating the
LMV5... burner management system when fitted inside the
demo case
Fall or shock can adversely affect the safety functions. Such
devices and demo cases must not be put into operation, even
if they do not exhibit any damage
The demo case must be connected to a suitable power outlet
The KF8893... must be protected against condensation, formation of ice and ingress of water

Commissioning notes

Open the demo case by releasing the lateral locks and remove the cover
When opened, plug the enclosed mains cable into the socket
(see photo)
Should you encounter any problems when putting the demo
case into operation, please do not make any manipulations

After reading the Operating Instructions, keep them in the

pocket inside the demo case
Use of the KF8893... presupposes that the operator is familiar
with the control sequence and the control and switching
functions of the LMV5... burner management system
For detailed information and technical data of the LMV5..., refer to the Basic Documentation LMV5 (P7550) and to Data
Sheet SQM4 (N7814)

The parameter setting levels are protected by passwords. These

passwords are confidential and may only be given to authorized
persons.
For the heating engineer level (HF), 9876 is the default password.
Each time the system is put into operation, check the parameter
settings because with the LMV5 the characteristics of the
system are mainly determined by the parameter settings.

Simulation of the controlled system

Using the demo case, the controlled system can be simulated in 2 different ways:
Manual adjustment of the boiler temperature and of the automatic
controlled system.
Manual adjustment
of the actual temperature

The controlled system can be simulated by simple manual adjustment

of the boiler temperature, using potentiometer Actual value temp..
For demonstration purposes, set the system configuration of the
LMV5 as follows:

Simulation of a closed control loop is especially suited for demonstrating the adaptation of the internal load controller. To simulate a boiler
temperature increase, the controlled system is simulated by using 2
delay members connected in series.
The delay members have the time constant 1 of 1...50 seconds
and 2 of 50...100 seconds.
Changes to the boilers heat output can be simulated with potentiometer Load.
The graph below shows the progression of boiler temperature when
the burners output suddenly changes at a constant rate (step response).
Characteristic 1 shows the progression of boiler temperature when
using the minimum settings of 1 and 2. The maximum values
of the delay members 1 and 2 produce characteristic 2.
The final temperature level depends on the adjusted burner output
(setting on the LMV5) and the position of potentiometer Load.
To demonstrate the adaptation of the internal load controller of the
LMV5, the following settings are required:
Configuration of the load controller inside the LMV5

Removal of
AZL5

For demonstration purposes, the display and programming unit can

be removed from the front panel by loosening the screws.
The connecting cable with a length of 1.5 m enables you to operate
the AZL5 as a handheld unit.

Simulation of the
controlled O2
system

Using the KF8893-2, the O2 signal, O2 sensor temperature, combustion air temperature and flue gas temperature can be simulated.
For that purpose, the KF8893-2... must be connected to the CAN bus
of the KF8893-1 via the 6-pole connector. The potentiometers are
used to manually adjust the respective signals. During initialization of
O2 trim control, the boiler plants delay time is determined in the
course of the adaptation process. To ensure correct simulation, the
O2 value must therefore be slowly changed from the adjusted O2
setpoint to the initial O2 ratio value. It should also be observed that
each time the system is put into operation, the O2 value must be
manually set to 20.9 % 2 % at the end of prepurging. After ignition
and the change to control mode, the O2 value should be reduced to
the O2 ratio value for simulated operation.
