This is what you need to do, (if you have the same unit as I do)
Burn the Software Update onto a DVD-R
Insert the burned disc into the DVD ROM drive
Switch unit on. When unit is on press & hold MENU & PHONE together until a new
menu appears. The system will then ask for a DIAG pin. You need to enter 1981.
You will then see a new menu. select SW UPDATE and take it from there.

It is nice to have an additional method but I doubt the applicability in this case
I have witnessed dozens of updates of these systems and they were always performed flawlessly according to the method described in post # 1 which
is part of the Ford internal instructions leaflet!

This is the method i performed and it worked successfully, I have also spoken with my contact at Ford of Britain in Brentwood who informs me this
is the way for my systems as it is for many other systems including jaguar, by using the PHONE & MENU buttons together to access a diag menu
you are also able to check the FIRMWARE version installed.
However i cannot see any difference with the 2009-2010 map compared to the 2007-2008 as some of our local roads are still missing.

Hello,
Could a burner which makes good RNS-E copies burn these maps? I have tried to burn the Easter Europe with iHAS324 (which makes good RNS-E
copies) on DVD+R DL full printable and did not work. Prevously I used the same dvd-writer for a Jaguar X-Type and was perfect. Should I try with
a DVD5 DVD+R ?
I hold another LG GH22NS40, should I try with this one? Thanks.

Cause I thought the DVD9 will perform better than a DVD5. At least this is what I know / heard, that it is more accurate.

Hello,
I'm new here.
I follow this thread because I have a Ford S-Max with the Denso 7" touchscreen but my maps are from 2005-2006...
I've downloaded the maps from your links but it doesn't work....
My soft version is 4.40 and I burned the Western Europe on a DVD+R DL Imation lowest speed with alcohol 120%....
I just noticed that on my original DVD, there is a "LOADING.KWI" file and on the iso file, there is no loading.kwi.... is this my problem?
Or do I hace to burn the iso on a better DVD with an other soft?
