Driving of steel sheet piles

16.3

Interlocking sheet piles are OZ 28A section with interlock of Arcelor Mittal or approved
equivalent as per manufacturers specification and minimum Section modulus of 2850 cm3/m
are to be driven for shore protection as per drawings.

16.4

Piles shall be driven, true to plumb and alignment. Hammer for sheet pile driving shall be
drop hammer, or vibratory hammer. In order to maintain alignment, temporary guide frames
shall be fixed in place and checked prior to actual driving Sheet pile driving shall commence
initially with minimum impact of hammer, which can be increased later after ensuring that the
piles are being driven vertically through the interlocking grooves along with designed
alignment. The sheet piles are to be driven with batten welded at suitable intervals. The Steel
Sheet Pile may be lifted by suspending from single point.
