Introduction
EDI is a leading international awarding body that was formed through the merger of the
London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board (LCCIEB) and a leading
online assessment provider (GOAL). EDI now delivers qualifications internationally
through a network of over 5000 registered centres in more than 120 countries worldwide.
Our range of qualifications is trusted and valued by employers worldwide and recognised
by universities and professional bodies.
This workbook is part of the EDI Passport to Success series of workbooks. The JETSET
Passport to Success titles have been designed as tools to reinforce prior learning and, as
such, they are suitable for use as either homework books or as key classroom resources.
This particular title has been written specifically to meet the needs of learners preparing
to sit junior (JET) version of the JETSET Level 2 qualification. It covers the key syllabus
topics and focuses on the core vocabulary and grammar demands. It is important to
emphasise that this workbook is offered as a tool to reinforce class-based learning and
should only be used as part of a language course and in conjunction with other JETSET
support materials.
Further resources to support the JETSET qualifications include sample exam papers, the
JETSET syllabus and teaching support materials. Please either contact your local EDI
representative or visit the EDI website (www.ediplc.com) for more information and to find
out how to acquire these additional resources.

Part Five
Winter comes after Autumn and before Spring. It is usually very cold. This season
begins in December and ends in February. Sometimes it snows and you can have fun
throwing snowballs and making snowmen. If you go outside you must put on lots of
clothes like coats, boots, hats and scarves. In Winter the days are short and it gets dark
very early, at about 4 oclock in the afternoon.
Spring comes after Winter and before Summer. It starts in March and ends in May. The
days get longer and there is more light after 4 oclock. Everything starts to grow again.
The leaves start to grow on the trees, which are bare after the Winter. Birds and
animals start to have babies. The weather is better and it is not so cold.
Summer comes after Spring and before Autumn. It starts in June and ends in August.
The weather is usually lovely and is much better than Spring. It is possible to play
outside longer as it stays light later. People go to the beach to sunbathe, swim and
have fun on the sand. Sometimes it is very hot and it is difficult to sleep at night.
Autumn comes after Summer and before Winter. It starts in September and ends in
November. The leaves on the trees start to change colour, they become gold, yellow,
red and brown. They die and fall to the ground. Sometimes it is cold with frost on the
roofs. The days become shorter and it gets dark earlier. The weather is not very good;
it is sometimes windy, cloudy, rainy and cold.
