Anyone who has chosen teaching as a profession in Lebanon can join the Post

University of Nottingham, offered exclusively through Stafford in the region.
Meeting first rate academic standards, the programme helps convert teachers and
teaching assistants into highly effective teachers.
The programme has four 15-credit modules, each assessed by a 3,000 word
assignment or portfolio equivalent. Students learn through a dedicated virtual
learning environment using online course content and instructor support,
combined with university led face-to-face workshops. Upon completion of the
programme, the credits earned can be used towards a full Masters award (180

An expert-designed course, PGCEi has four modules - Contexts, Understanding
Learning, Approaches to Teaching and Investigating Student Learning. Contexts
refers to study of philosophy of education in varied national settings.
Understanding Learning favours a critical approach to teaching, while training
teachers how they can help students learn. Approaches to Teaching touches on
topics that include Teaching strategies and Aspects of pedagogy. Investigating
Student Learning, the fourth module, involves a 3,000 word study.
A distance learning programme, PGCEi is focused on professionally enriching
teachers. The programme begins with a face-to-face introductory workshop
followed by distance learning and tutor support. Post programme, the pursuants
are able to compare teaching approaches and methodologies in different
countries. Critical reflection and action research help improve teaching practice.
As for eligibility, applicants for PGCEi distance learning must be graduates of an
approved university. They are required to hold a second class honours degree, or
