INTRODUCTION
From the very beginning it is very important to state the fact that the subject
matter of this certificate paper is really interesting and that the title illustrated the
essence of the author's intention to treat the issues according to a very pragmatic and
analytical point of view, a characteristic of the research documents conceived in view to
clarify certain matters related to the theory and the practice of the English culture and
civilization.
There are multiple reasons concerning the decision to approach such a theme. It
was definitely a topic that offered certain freedom of choice and numerous directions of
investigation, a topic that at the same time allowed me to make a good documented
presentation because of the plenty of information I was able to find, but above all the
theme was of highly interest to me.
I love technology and this is a great opportunity to learn things I did not know too
much about.
Therefore I was very interested to find out about the great impact of electronic
devices on the industry in the Anglo-Saxon world.
The main reasons why I have chosen the topic of my certificate were the following:

my special interest for electronics

my curiosity to find out more details about new smart devices

the challenge offered by this particular theme to approach such a subject matter
from an analytical point of view with special focus upon the effects on people

the rewarding satisfaction that a similar approach has not yet been performed in
the field of communication

As in the case of any other scientific document, this certificate paper is based on a
thorough and vast documentation mainly focused upon the main aspects of new
technology and its effects on people.

The main working hypothesis was based upon the fact that the tablets are still the
best selling in detriment of the smartphones.
The author's intention was to prove that the greatest smart device is a tiny one, like a
smartphone.
The main objectives that the author proposed to achieve by writing this certificate
paper rely upon the idea that the subject matter in discussion was very rich in substance
and manners of approaching it. With these thoughts in mind, the author's main concern
focused on the following aspects:

to identify the way these devices help humans

to analyze the advantages and disadvantages in buying such smart gadgets

to find solutions to the serious problems identified during the research upon the
impact on people relationships

In order to achieve my goals I have intensely thought the following methods of

research and conception:

I gathered a lot of documentation, both written and visual concerning the main
theme at stake such as newsletters about inventions, forum discussions and so
on

I watched the documentary films broadcasted by Discovery Channel on television

referring to the main aspects of the theme I was approaching such as how it is
made a device, what are the costs to design a new one, what is tendency of
people to buy it and so on

I consulted the Internet sites offering information on the subject I was interested
in, such as Samsung official website

Having all these in mind the author's efforts were directed towards the achievement
of the main goals previously mentioned.
