CONGRUENT HELPS AN ANALYTICS SOLUTIONS PROVIDER IN DEVELOPING
A DEMAND-GENERATION TOOL.
Client Situation
The client is a leading provider of B2B market intelligence analytic solutions. Congruent partnered with
the client to develop market intelligence and demand generation tools that provide insights on companies
and markets.
Challenges
Besides the analytics model, the effectiveness of the big data solution depends on the quality of incoming
data and how soon they are brought into the analytics framework. With many data sources, ranging from
Yahoo Finance to LinkedIn to several product websites, the client faced many challenges in data aggregation and analysis.
Congruents Approach
Congruent developed a configurable and dynamic web crawler framework tool using Apache NUTCH and
Apache Hadoop as backbone. The framework was designed to be an extensible plug-in architecture with
many customization features that could be used at runtime. The status of crawlers was tracked using HadoopJobtracker. Data was fetched from various sources (job sites, people movement, financial records
and social media), latest updates were segregated, and these leads were further analyzed and polished
as qualified leads.

CONGRUENT HELPS A TELECOM ANALYTICS PROVIDER COMPANY TO IMPROVE REVENUE
Client Situation
Telecom service providers deal with massive volumes of data and struggle to extract actionable insights
from these high-volume data sets. And they are always in critical need of such valuable information to
serve as the basis for product pricing and targeting their offers to high-growth markets. We worked with
the client to develop an analytics framework to understand revenue distribution and trends.
Challenges
We needed an analytics framework that was capable of handling huge data volumes and was customizable for different telecom providers. Every telecom provider uses their own datamart to store data; there is
variation even within a given telecom company, for example, the CDR data format could vary from tower
to tower. The data also need to be analyzed almost in real time, so as to identify trends that need to be
arrested or promoted. Thus, the analytics framework should be capable of supporting heavy volumes and
unstructured data and also work superfast.
