NARRATIVE

REPORT

( A narrative report summarizing of my learning experiences while

on FIELD STUDY.)

In my Field Study in a duration of seventeen (17) hours

at Iligan City East High Schol, Hinaplanon, this city is very
successful because the administration and all of the teachers are
very accommodating to us Certificate of Professional Teaching
(CPRT) Students. They will be able us to allow to observed inside
the classroom and experience all the necessary routines during
class discussion of all teachers in the said school.
The students in the said institution is very cooperative,
participative to the teacher in charge of each respective
classroom advisories and very respectful to us CPRT students as
well as to their mentor they showed their utmost appropriate
behaviour inside the class. All of the strategies and techniques
that the teacher presented during my Field Study Observation it
could help a lot to all of us because someday with gods grace I
can use and adopt all those teaching strategies when I will
become a Professional Teacher someday in our nation.
I also express my thanks and gratitude to Father God for
watching us. To my Professor Mr. Arthur R. Sepe, for guiding and

My Observation Report on Interaction

Name: JICK PHILIP F. BONGGA
Year/Course: CPRT 2
School Observed: ILIGAN CITY EAST HIGH SCHOOL - HINAPLANON
OBSERVATIONS:
Student to Student Interaction Patterns:
The patterns of interaction between student to student are very usual in a classroom
setting were peers relation as well as friends to each everyone are established. In that
matter the student itself knows how to interact with the persons around them and have a
chance for a little discussion especially regarding the subject matter were teacher
discusses to his immediate students.
Student to Teacher Interaction Patterns:
The student teacher interaction are very important because it help both of them to know
like a situation quoted as if the student did not understand the lesson whereby the
teacher response on the matter immediately as to shed light the student regarding the
teacher discussion on that matter interaction gives a strong student teacher effective
working relationship.
Teacher to Student Interaction Patterns:
The teacher to student interaction is highly needed because the sympathy as well as
coordination of teacher to students provides a good communication were process of
Jick Philip F. Bongga |Field Study 6| Page 5

learning are continuously which both of them has interactions thru questioning and
answering the subject matter as to evaluate each responses.
Student to Non - Teaching Personnel Interaction Patterns:
This kind of interaction are not usually observed because this may happen sometimes if
there are any important matters encounters a student which an option to have interaction
between the non teaching personnel such as assistance on reaching their teacher or
other relevant situations.
Teacher to Teacher Interaction Patterns:
In this relation is very common to each teacher concern because they have a goal
reaching out a best and quality education to each student where they have sometimes
weekly or monthly meetings regarding on teaching strategies or any innovations they
made as or to have effective learning to their students.

Analysis
Why is a classroom a miniature of a greater society?
A classroom is a miniature of a greater society because this also
serves as representation of each student were individual will mold their
learning inside the classroom. It is also a steeping ground in
encountering people in the community and have a common goal of
establishing friendship.

What are found in the classrooms that are to similar to what can be
observed in society?
Reasonable rule of action
Jick Philip F. Bongga |Field Study 6| Page 7

Dynamic individual
Partial injustice (as in inequal competency)
Debate
Issues-centrism concerning child
Sameness of attitudes
Lack of availability of resources
Logical disputes (especially parent teacher interaction)

Peace concept on focus:

Cooperation
You are able to find pleasure in working
with another person because you
consider this person as partner not
a competitor.
Through partnership, the task is done
cooperatively and more easily.

My Observation Report
Name: JICK PHILIP F. BONGGA Year/Course: CPRT 2
School observed: Iligan City East High School - Hinaplanon
Observations:
Teacher: We will start now our lesson for today

Student: Maam, what will be the subject matter of our discussion today?
Teacher: I will introduce you today about Kinds of Weather...
(The teacher is preparing her visual materials on board)
Student: Maam, we are excited regarding your discussion today.
As the teacher preparing her materials some students were observing and
some are participative in a class.
Personal Reflections on the Dialogue
In this classroom which I observed, she is very disciplinarian teacher
whom she may able to control the attitude of her pupils especially if
discussions is started. In the said class the students are very cooperative and
attentive to their teacher. In the reflections during their dialogue are very
respectful to each others such as teacher-student and student-teacher
communication, well impressive.

YOUR ANALYSIS
1. How important are dialogue and substantive conversation in the classroom in terms
of students learning?

In having dialogue in a classroom is very important because there will be an

effective communication as well as interaction between teachers and the student
Jick Philip F. Bongga |Field Study 6| Page 9

to have effective discussion on explanation the matter specially regarding on the

topic that they did not understand during discussion. In having this strategy of a
dialogue it provides a clearly and transparent communication between teacherstudent or vice versa.
2. What learning benefits could teachers and students draw from intentional
classroom dialogue?

The learning and benefits could teachers and students draw from intentional
classroom dialogue are such as being freewheeling participative interaction might
firmly happen, and like there could be a maturity drawn in an intentional
classroom dialogue in as much as angle of perpective and operational corrective
actions will be talk considerably.

REFLECTION
Curriculum Designs...
In my reflection, a curriculum design can be organized either horizontal or vertically.
Horizontal organization means, that the direction of the curriculum elements is sideways and
pertaining to the dimensions of curriculum design scope does not rely refer to the cognitive
content, but also to the affective and psychomotor content.
In having curriculum design is very effective techniques and strategies in obtaining a
good learning outcome of their students.

PEACE CONCEPT ON FOCUS:

Curriculum design is not only a matter of brilliant planning. It needs a constant effort to unite al
diverse aspects of learning. This effoert is successful when the people involved believes in the
power

Analysis

Why should teachers know about curriculum design?

Teachers should know about curriculum design because it is an academic plan,

which should include: the purpose of the curriculum (i.e., goals for student learning),
content, sequence (the order of the learning experience), instructional methods,
instructional resources, evaluation approaches, and how adjustments to the plan will be
made based on experience or assessment data.

What do most principles and theories of curriculum development have in common? How is
this commonality expressed or spelled out in the curriculum of the class you have
observed?

For me, the most principles and theories of curriculum development that correlated or
have in common is the John Dewey's concept of education because its put a premium on
meaningful activity in learning and participation in classroom with democracy.
The commonality expressed or spelled out in the curriculum of the class that I observed is
the adaptation of having meaningful activity with democracy. It emphasize that the classroom
that i observed is following with Deweys concept. In a classroom it shows that in very
discussion there is always a freedom of student to ask the teacher regarding the lesson as the
teacher discussed followed by an activity which everyone can participate as well as after
answering the given question each student has a democracy to ask teacher to express their
concerns how derive her answer into the teachers question.

Jick Philip F. Bongga |Field Study 6| Page 13

Your Reflections
From your FS experiences, keep in touch with your most meaningful learning and
express it through abstract visual representation. Please use appropriate colors to represent your
feelings and significant learning.

EXPLANATIONS:
For me, I illustrate my visual presentation thru an image human
person with a color description of golden yellow as to represent my feelings and
learning.
I represent a human person because its describes and shows as a
dedicated person whom finding ways to learn and comply all the necessary

requirement as well as to become a competent person with a big goal of success in

any field which I can provide an efficient service to my mankind as well as the color
description of golden yellow it signifies a brighter future ahead and keep shining
through with a flying colors.

Your Analysis

How important is involvement of all stakeholders of the school in the schools

programs and activities?
It is important that the appearance of stakeholders in the school programs may
involve because it may achieved the working relationship between the school
administrator and the stakeholders in helping to have a progressive school on
having more innovations which the students will be benefited of the undertaking
of a line-up programs and activities.

What specific principle of curriculum development justifies the importance of

cooperation and collaboration among all stakeholders of the school?

Principle of Mutual Aid - It is primarily describe as well as justifies the cooperation

between members in the school committee who reviewed the curriculum or any other ,
cooperation is meant to be as a proper guidance as well as group interest that binds to achieve
their desired goals or their aims for a better success in school.

Peace Concept on Focus:

Interconnectedness
All life forms on earth are connected to each
other for mutual support.
This is recognition that
each one of us, being members
of the society needs other people for our own needs.

How important is it for teachers and curriculum planners to anchor

their curricular plans to specific theories and principles of curriculum
development?
In an appropriate ways of an answering on this matter. The teacher and
other teacher specialist in a different fields of subjects such as English, Math,
Science, History, Filipino, Values and other related subjects that all subject
matter to be taught in the class has a connections to the principles as well as
connecting learning in daily lives which be used or adopted in all aspects may
encounter in different field of expertise.
Aside from the teachers, who else should be involved in the
curriculum planning? Expound your thoughts.

In this matter of the involvement of curriculum planning are following

personalities should be involved such as School Administrator as well as in
support from Local Government Unit thru their consultant in different field of
expertise, researchers from the State and Private Universities, expertise from
different sectors of Science and Technology including the Business Sectors
including the academe, the Health Care Professionals and Legal Experts for us
to have an effective formulation of new curriculum design/program which all
of these personalities has a big help as well as they contribute an excellent
ideas that improves students learnings as well as provide a new ideas and
techniques that will be used in the land and to upcoming generation.

Reflection
From your FS experiences, take a look into your significant learning and
personal reflection. Express it in a simple poem. Then share it with your
classmates and your FS teacher.
My Education
James Kenneth Stephen
At school I sometimes read a book,
And learned a lot of lessons;
Some small amount of pains I took,
And showed much acquiescence
In what my masters said, good men!
Yet after all I quite
Forgot the most of it: but then
I learned to write.
At Lincoln's Inn I'd read a brief,
Abstract a title, study
Great paper-piles, beyond belief
Inelegant and muddy:
The whole of these as time went by
I soon forgot: indeed
I tried to: yes: but by and by
I learned to read.
By help of Latin, Greek and Law
I now can write and read too:
Then perish each forgotten saw,
Each fact I do not need too:
But still whichever way I turn
At one sad task I stick:
I fear that I shall never learn
Arithmetic.

Explanation: In school a student may encounter different topics of lessons

whereby with a combination of teaching the students on knowledge, skills and
appropriate attitude for them to adopt the said lessons. In being a student it is
our or they primary responsible to lessen the discussions of each teacher for us
to learn new ideas and knowledge.
Thoughts:
This is one of my favourite poem because it inspires us students
to lean and have courage with dedication to learn.

Your Analysis
Why do teachers need to align the objectives, strategies, and
assessment?
The Teacher In Charge must need to align the objectives,
strategies and assessment so that there will be cooperation between
the topic to be discussed as well as it facilitates improvements,
strengthening knowledge retention for a better results in teaching.
Jick Philip F. Bongga |Field Study 6| Page 26

How should teachers align their objectives, strategies, and

assessment? Suggest some strategies.
The teacher should align their objectives, strategies and
assessment thru following the Teachers Guide known as TG so that
their discussion are aligned with the Dep.Ed Guidelines as well as if
the teacher concern wants another techniques on teaching strategies
I may suggest that she would conduct a research study as well as in
combination of innovation for a better results of solution that it could
help in teaching strategy to all teachers.
