P5_RNC
P6_RNC
P6FP_RNC
P7ED_RNC

Timer that is started when all radio links for a connection are lost. At time-out, the radio
connection is considered lost.
Special values:
The value 18000 deci seconds = 1800 s = 30 minutes is used for testing purposes to
"disable"
the Radio Connection Supervision functionality for a UE on dedicated channels.
Unit: 0.1 s
Resolution: 5
Change takes effect: The value CANNOT be changed for an ongoing connection; that is,
whenever the attribute is reconfigured in the RNC, the new value shall only apply to new
connections.

RADIO CONNECTION SUPERVISION EVALUATION

This algorithm keeps track of the synchronization status of the radio connection by assigning
a tag to every RLS. Upon creation of a new RLS the tag is set to "Fail". The tag is shifted to
"OK" upon reception of a RL restore indication and then to "Fail" upon reception of a RL
failure indication. If all RLSs are tagged as "Fail" and the timer dchRcLostT has expired,
then the radio connection shall be considered lost and the overall release of the connection is
triggered as shown in Figure 4-11.

Controls the RCS timer for supervision of uplink synch of RLS containing the serving
HSDSCH
radio link.
Special values:

18000 indicates that the RCS function is switched off. Used for test purposes.
Unit: 0.1 s Resolution: 5

Where HSDPA connections are concerned, the radio connection shall be considered
unsynchronized when the RLS that contains the Serving HS-DSCH RL is unsynchronized. A
timer, hsdDchRcLostT, shall be started when that RLS is considered unsynchronized. If the
RLS is unsynchronized during hsDschRcLostT and the timer expires, the signaling
connection is released.
For HS users, only the RL in the serving HS-DSCH cell is supervised. Also, a separate
parameter, hsdschRcLostT, determines how long time a HS user can be out-of-sync before
the connection is released..
Since the synchronization state is relative only to the link set containing the HS-DSCH, the
synchronization status may change with a serving HS-DSCH cell change.

t313:
T313 Out-of-Sync Reception Timer
3GPP TS 25.331 8.5.6 states that after receiving N313 consecutive "out of sync" indications from
layer 1 (see N313 Successive Out-Of-Sync Reception Max ), the UE shall start the T313 timer. Upon
receiving N315 successive "in sync" indications from layer 1 ( N315 Successive In-Sync Reception
Counter ), the UE shall stop and reset the T313 timer. If T313 expires, a "Radio Link failure" has
occurred, and the UE shall drop the call.
