Montage
Description:
A religious and inspirational montage created by blending photos together and adding typography.

Program(s)/ Tools:
Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
I wanted people to get inspired to move on with life even when it can be difficult.
Process:
I started this process by sketching out ideas for the montage. I then went to find a quote to
use to tie everything together. Once I had my quote I started looking for the right images to
use. After finishing all of my planning I opened Adobe Photoshop and begun my design process. At first I had way too much going on in the design so I decided to refine and simplify it.
Once I felt like my design was 90% ready I had it critiqued by two individuals. After learning
what I could do to improve my montage I revised the project and made a few changes. I ended up liking the new variation of the design much better.

Objectives:
To influence individuals to make a lifestyle change and eat more natural foods that will cause them to
be healthier.
Process:
I first decided on a color scheme (split complementary) and then I had to decide what to take a picture
of. Once I had taken my picture I had to upload it into Photoshop. Before I started messing with the
image I created a few layout designs that I could potentially use. After my sketches were complete I
started working on the image. I had to change a couple of places that were lighter than the rest of the
image and brighten up the colors overall. Then I started adding the other elements to the image like
the title and the color swatches. I then had my design critiqued. After the critiques I made a few adjustments to enhance my overall design.

Objectives:
To inform my audience about an amazing opportunity they have to see The Lion King on
Broadway.
Process:
This project spanned out two weeks. I spent time creating drafts with ideas for the brochure. Once I had
the color scheme and layout figured out I opened Adobe InDesign and started creating the brochure. I
made lines around the page with rulers to help me tell where each panel was. I did my first weeks layout
and then had it critiqued. Then I started working on my final draft. My coloring was slightly off for my front
panel so I ended up clipping the lions head so the colors would match better. I also added wrap text in the
middle panels in order to create more interest. I changed a few fonts and alignment issues.

Objectives:
To create a Letterhead that shows Red Apple Barns customers that they are a family friendly
business where you can spend time with the whole family.
Process:
To begin this this project I first had to again think about what kind of logo to make. Then I started to make
sketches of different letterhead ideas. I wanted this design to be coherent with the business card so I started
adding repetition throughout both. After I finished the rough draft I had my designs critiqued. I ended up
softening the green and adding more repetition through different elements.

Dont worry, help is on the way
Process:
I first started by trying to figure out who my audience is. Then I had to think about what kind of
message I wanted to portray. Once I had the basic idea I started thinking about different color schemes
that I wanted to use. Then I looked online to try and see what other people in this industry were doing,
like which fonts looked the best and so on. I created all of the shapes and text for each logo and placed
them together to form each design.

Description:
Promotional flier for a graduate leadership conference done in black and white.

Program(s)/ Tools:

Objectives:
To inform recent graduates about a great opportunity they could have learning important skills,
that would benefit them in their future careers, at a leadership conference.
Process:
I began this flier by first making four sketches of different layout ideas. I then chose the layout
that I thought looked best and started working on it in the program Indesign. I then used the
FOCUS principles to go through my project. The most important principle for me to follow was
Unify. Once I unified all of the parts of my design it ended up looking more put together and
professional. I tried to use repetition in the colors I chose and the rectangular boxes that are found
throughout the flier. I also wanted the heading of the flier to stand out so I used contrasting colors
to help create that effect.

Objectives:
To create an event ad to inspire people to want to come out and help find a cure for
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Process:
I first started by looking through magazines and pictures to find the image for the event ad. I then creating
a few sketches with ideas. Once I had the sketches done I scanned in my images and
started creating the project in Microsoft word. At first my design was acceptable but not great.
One thing that really made a difference in my design was making the title bigger. It really helped it to stand
out and become the focal point. Using repetition though the colors and shapes also helped the flow.

Objectives:
To create a webpage that shows that Smees Southern Home Organization is a fun and creative
company to use to help you get your home reorganized.
Process:
I first had to learn how to code a document to create a webpage. To do this you have to start with an
html document to get the basics of the webpage, like the text, images, and web links. Then you have
to create a css document to style the layout of the webpage, like the colors and word placement. You
then have to link the two documents together in order for them to work properly.

I first started by creating the look of the app in Adobe illistrator. Then I started sketching out ideas
for the actual design of the ad. I then used Adobe Photoshop to create the look of the phones and
to tweak the app to look more like pinocchio. I then Opened Adobe InDesign to create the
structure of the design. In this program I placed everything together to create the final product.
