BROCHURE
Description:
A brochure I created for a marketing company I am
working for this summer. The company is designed to
market hispanic owned companies, and promote them
on social media.

Process:

I started this design after I had finished the logo,
so everything in it is based around the design and color scheme of the logo. I used illustrator to create the
logo, and InDesign to do the rest. The most difficult
part about this design was getting the margins for the
folds exactly how I needed them. Other than that, This
design went pretty well, with few bumps in the road. I
had a lot of fun making this brochure and hope that it
is appealing to others.

 LOGOS

Process:

I had at ton of trouble working with the pen tool,
so I decided to use the different shape tools for everything. Definitely not the easiest option, but still
useful. I used mostly the rectangular tools for each
design, but decided to use the rounded edge tool for
the first and third logos. I also used the triangular tool
to create the pointed edges on the first logo. All the
logos I made were used with shape tools, including the
backgrounds for each.

MONTAGE

Placed background image
cropped to 118.5 in.
copied layer, then applied layer masks (reduced saturation, set levels).
placed second image
copied second image and applied layer masks (Vibrance and Saturation).
Placed text in two separate boxes, and applied Darken layer mask.

LETTERHEAD

Process:

I started with Illustrator, and sketched out my
Logo, lines and random shapes. Once I had completed all the shapes, I went into InDesign and started the
long process of placing all of the pieces into the letterhead. After the letterhead was complete, I went back
into Illustrator to create all of the shapes and logos for
the business card. It took a long time, but I have over
30 separate images that combine to make my design.

I created the DH logo using Illustrator. I also
created the lines with Illustrator. All of the alignment
of shapes and text was done with InDesign. The grey
backgrounds were created using the shape tool in InDesign. All type was done in InDesign as well.

PHOTODESIGN

Process:

I started this design with a basic photo of my guitar, then added the necessary edits to make it into a
primary color scheme. I only used a small amount of
sharpening on the tuners, because the photo looked
odd with most of the sharpening edits I made. I had
some trouble with the sizing of the PDF because of the
PSD layout, but that was all fixed by cutting down the
margins.

EVENT AD

I started with the scanned image, and made all
the boxes the same color as the lit side of the Temple,
which created a well balanced color scheme that felt
natural and appealing. The copy is also the same color
as the shaded side of the temple.

 FLIER
Description:
A flier for a fictitious networking seminar for college
students and alumni.

Process:

I used InDesign for the entire project, starting
with the picture, then working down from there. I
layered the title with both a cast shadow and partially
transparent text boxes to add depth and contrast to
the surrounding elements. I also added several other
transparent boxes to help emphasize key elements of
the design.
