Legal & ethical considerations:

Trespassing

Trespassing is when you go onto private property without permission from

the land owner. I will be taking my pictures in public places therefore I will
not be at risk of breaking the law.

Intellectual property rights

This means you cannot steal or take credit somebody elses work. All of
the work must be your own original ideas and never been done before.
This means we must make sure to not have any other company logos on
show in the photographs.

Copyright

The copyright law means that you have the legal right to protect your
original work from being stolen by others. To avoid breaking the copyright
law I must make sure to only use original ideas and make sure I dont steal
from anyone else.

Obscenity law (1959)

The obscenity law is in place to stop people from being obscene or

offensive (swearing etc.) to members of the public through the media.
This isnt really relevant to my photo shoot because its a print
advertisement, however my photos will not contain swearing or
inappropriate content.

Official secrets act (1911-1989)

The official secrets act is an act put in place to stop people from giving
away private information about the government or the country. If you
break this law you can be sentenced to 14 year in prison. This is again not
relevant to my campaign as its a print advertisement.

Representational issues

This means that you must represent everybody fairly. Currently this does
not apply to my campaign as Ive only been allowed to use one model,
However if I were able to continue this campaign I would make sure to use
a wide range of people in the different photographs.

Deformation

Deformation means you cannot write anything unfair or untrue about

people or this is classed as libel and you mustnt say anything unfair or
untrue as this is classed as slander. This will not be relevant when making
my campaign because its a print advertisement.

Trademark

A trademark is a recognisable sign or logo that easily identifies a brand.

You are not allowed to steal another companys trademark therefore I
must make sure that any logos are hidden and that if I am using a logo,
its either original or I have the permission to use it.

PRS license (music license)

You must have a PRS licence is you wish to play music in a public place or
for commercial use. This is not relevant to my campaign as it is a print
based advertisement.

Discrimination

Discrimination is when you say something untrue or unfair about

somebodies gender, age, race, religion or sex. I will make sure not to
discriminate against people in my campaign. However as stated above my
campaign only features one model but if I were able to continue this
campaign I would make sure to use a wide range of people in the different
photographs.
