POZZOLITH 400 N

For the production of flowing concrete

Applications

Description

Guidelines for Use

Recommended for use in:

Pozzolith 400 N admixture is a high-range waterreducing admixture designed to produce concrete

with the workability needed to facilitate placement.
Flowable concrete with high-early strength gain is
readily attainable through the use of this admixture.
Pozzolith 400 N admixture meets ASTM C 494
requirements for Type A, water-reducing, and Type F,
high-range water-reducing admixtures.

DOSAGE:

Concrete where normal setting

characteristics are desired
Prestressed, precast and flowing
concrete applications

Workability improved at equal water content when

compared to a non-treated, reference concrete

Pozzolith 400 N admixture has a recommended dosage

range of 10-20 fl oz/cwt (650-1300 mL/100 kg) of
cementitious material, depending upon the application,
the required strength, or the desired slump. At cooler
temperatures, the dosage may have to be increased
by 15-25%.
The above dosage applies for most concrete mixes
using typical concrete ingredients. Because of
variations in job condition and concrete materials,
dosages other than the recommended amounts may
be required. In such cases, contact your local
Master Builders representative.

CORROSIVITY

Benefits

NON CHLORIDE, NON-CORROSIVE

Pozzolith 400 N admixture will not initiate or promote
corrosion of reinforcing steel embedded in concrete,
prestressed concrete or concrete placed on galvanized
steel floor and roof systems. Calcium chloride is not an
added ingredient in the manufacture of this admixture.

Features
Reduced water content for a given level of workability

Faster concrete placement

Superplasticizing effect for high-slump applications
Rapid strength gain for energy savings and earlier
stripping (for precast/prestress applications)
Earlier structural use of concrete

COMPATIBILITY

Pozzolith 400 N admixture may be used in combination

with any Master Builders admixtures and may be used
in all colored and architectural concrete. When used in
conjunction with other admixtures, each admixture
must be dispensed separately into the mix.

Setting time of concrete is influenced by the chemical

and physical composition of the basic ingredients of the
concrete, temperature of the concrete and climatic
conditions. Trial mixes should be made with job

STRENGTH
Do not use pressurized air for agitation.
Concrete mixes containing Pozzolith 400 N admixture
develop strength more rapidly than plain concrete
SHELF LIFE
mixes of equal consistency.
Pozzolith 400 N admixture has a minimum shelf life
of 18 months. Depending on storage conditions, the
shelf life may be greater than stated. Please contact
your Master Builders representative regarding
suitability for use and dosage recommendations
if the shelf life of Pozzolith 400 N admixture has
been exceeded.

Packaging
Pozzolith 400 N admixture is supplied in 55 gal (208L)
drums, 275 gal (1040 L) totes and bulk delivery.
