2.2

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
HIGH PERFORMANCE, 1/2-INCH FORMAT, COLOR CAMERA
A. The product specified shall be a high performance, 1/2-inch digital CCD
color camera capable of producing resolution of 540 horizontal TV lines.
The camera design shall be based on a 15-bit DSP image processing
technology to provide excellent sensitivity and extended dynamic range
coverage without artifacts. These cameras shall be available in NTSC (60
Hz) and PAL (50 Hz) versions, as required by the application.

B.Thecameraspecifiedshallautomaticallydetectthelenstypeinstalledasfixed/manualiris,DCautoiris,and
videoiris,andallowthelenstobefocusedduringsetupusingalenswizardthatwillensureperfectlyfocused
picturesatalltimes.ThecamerashallallowtheuseofCorCSMounttypelenses.
C.ThecameraspecifiedshallprovideaNightSensefeaturethatautomaticallyactivatesinlowlightconditions.When
thecameraswitchesfromcoloroperationtomonochromemodeinlowlightsituations,NightSensewillincrease
thesensitivityupto9dB.Menuselectionshallalsoallowthecameratobeforcedfromthecolormodeto
monochromemode.TheNightSensefeaturemaybeactivatedremotelyusingtheBoschBilinxcommunication.
D.ThecameraspecifiedshallprovideremotecontrolandsetupviaBoschBilinxbidirectional,coaxial
communicationcapabilityembeddedinthevideosignalthatallowschangeofcamerasettings,statuschecks,and
firmwareupdatestobemadefromvirtuallyanywherealongthevideocable.TheBilinxcommunicationshalluse
thestandardcoaxialvideocabletotransmitalarmandstatusmessages.AnoptionalUSBadapterandthe
softwarerequiredforremotecontrolandsetupusingBilinxcommunicationshallbeavailablefromthecamera
manufacturer.
E.ThecameraspecifiedshallprovideXFDynamictechnologythatextendsthedynamiclightrangeofthecameraby
32Xandautomaticallyprocessesthedigitalsignalproducedbythe15bitDSPtechnologytooptimally,and,

simultaneously,capturethepicturedetailinboththehighlightandlowlightareastomaximizetheinformation
visibleinthepicture.
F.Thecameraspecifiedshallincludeanonboardvideomotiondetectorthatprovidesuptofour(4)fully
programmableareaswithindividualthresholds.Thecamerashallhaveabuiltinglobalscenechangedetector
thatminimizesfalsealarmscausedbysuddenchangesinthelightingconditions.Uponmotionsense,thecamera
shalldisplaythealarmonscreen,closeanalarmrelayatthecamera,andcommunicateviaBoschBilinx
communication.
G.Thecameraspecifiedshallbeinitiallysuppliedwiththreeselectablefactorypreprogrammedoperatingmodes
(profiles)thattypicallyfitmostapplications.Thesethreeindependentoperatingprofilesshallalsobefully
programmabletoallowreprogrammingshouldtheapplication(s)change.Themodesshallbeselectableviathe
cameramenu,BoschBilinxcommunication,oranexternalalarminputtothecamera.
H.Finetuningorspecialsettingsofthecamerasetupshallbeaccomplishedviaasimpleonscreendisplay(OSD)
menutreeoperatedviacontrolbuttonsonthesideofthecamera.Thecamerashallprovidea16charactercamera
ID.
I.Thesensitivityofthecamerashallbesuchthatauseablepictureof50IREunitsisproducedwithascene
illuminationof0.35lux(0.035fc)or0.14lux(0.014fc)withNightSenseactivatedusinganF1.2lensand89%
scenereflectance.Fullvideoshallbeproducedwith.72lux(.072fc)ofsceneillumination.
J.Thecamerashallprovideamodethatenhancestheeffectivesensitivityofthecamerabyincreasingtheintegration
timeontheCCDupto10times.
K.Thecameraspecifiedshallprovideadefaultshuttermodethatproducesafastshutterspeedwhenmovingobjects
aretobeviewed.Tomaintainsensitivitylevels,thecamerashallrevertbacktothestandardsettingswhenlight
levelsfalltoinsufficientlevelscapableofmaintainingthefastshutteroperation.
L.Thecamerashallprovidethefollowingshuttermodes:Auto(1/60(1/50)to1/500,000sec.),fixed(1/60(1/50)to
1/10,000,flickerlessmode,anddefaultmode.
M.ThecamerashallprovidethefollowingmodesofWhiteBalance:
1)AutomaticTrackingWhiteBalance(ATW)thatallowsthecameratoconstantlyadjustforoptimalcolor
reproduction.
2)WhiteBalanceHold(ABW)thatputstheATWonholdandsavesthecolorsettings.
3)Manualmodethatallowsmanualgainadjustmentofred,greenandblue.
4)WhiteBalanceSpeedthatadjuststhespeedofthewhitebalancecontrolloopforslow,medium,orfast
operation.
N.Themanufacturerofthespecifiedcamerashallprovideaselectionofmodelscapableofoperatingat12VDC,
24VAC,120VAC,or230VAC,asrequiredbytheapplication.Whenpoweredvia24VAC,120VACor230
VAC,thecamerashallbesynchronizedtothepowerlinezerocrossingtoensurerollfreeverticalintervalvideo
switchingandrecording.InternalandGenlocksyncmodesshallalsobeselectable.
