Dear student,

We want to communicate to all interested candidates there is a great opportunity to participate in a scholarship program at the University Centre for Business Management
- UCBM (Fondazione CUOA) in Italy - Europe. UCBM is located at Altavilla Vicentina, province of Vicenza. The city allows easy access to other countries such as Switzerland
and France, as well as to other Italian cities (accessed by train).
UCBM, a private non-profit foundation, is one of the most active centers of management training in Europe. Founded in 1957 and recognized by the European Union, it is a
business school that operates with support from the Universities of Padua, Venice, Trento and Udine.
International students can apply for scholarships covering up to 70% of tuition costs offered by the International Business School Americas, being eligible undergraduate
(sophomore and up) or graduate students.
Programs are offered twice each year, during the holidays (in January and in July), and lasts 3 weeks.
We offer the following multicultural programs:
1-

INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP (IML)

1st week: Strategic Leadership (Monday-Thursday): Classical and Contemporary Views of Leadership; leadership versus management; sharing power and
confidence. Company Visits and Project work.
2nd week: Business Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (Monday-Thursday): Negotiation techniques and strategies; environmental analysis and approach
methods; Mediators role in conflict resolution. Role Game. Company Visits and Project work.
3rd week: Intercultural Management (Monday-Wednesday): Globalization and the new business arena; international mergers & acquisitions and its impacts
over employees; intercultural management foundations. Company Visits and Project work. Graduation Ceremony.
2- CREATIVITY, INNOVATION & NEW BUSINESSES (CIN)
1st week: Entrepreneurship (Monday-Thursday): personal characteristics and skills which foster entrepreneurial and managerial performances and enhance
firm competitiveness; developing and improving these skills. Company Visits and Project work.
2nd week: Business Models (Monday-Thursday): how enterprises work, deal with the competitors and, generally speaking, compete in the global economy;
which activities firms perform, how they perform them, how they create superior customer value (low cost or differentiated products) and put itself in a
position to appropriate the value. Company Visits and Project work.
3rd week: Creativity & Innovation (Monday-Wednesday): organizational processes which improve the ability to innovate products and services; skills needed
to increase the orientation to innovation. Company Visits and Project work. Graduation Ceremony.
3- BUSINESS STRATEGY & MARKETING MANAGEMENT (BSM)
1st week: Retail & Distribution Management (Monday-Thursday): Communication with final consumers and distribution chain; managing channel conflicts;
optimizing channel structure. Company Visits and Project work.
2nd week: Brand Management (Monday-Thursday): Creating and positioning brands; the power and the challenges of country brands. Company Visits and
Project work.

3rd week: Business Strategies for Luxury & Specialty Goods (Monday-Wednesday): Globalization and the new business arena; international strategy for
fashion and design industries. Company Visits and Project work. Graduation Ceremony.
4- OPERATIONS, LOGISTICS & LEAN MANAGEMENT (OLM)
1st week: Logistics and operation for Global businesses (Monday-Thursday): Foundations of logistics and operation for Global businesses; How to leverage
competitive advantage based upon excellence in LOP. Company Visits and Project work.
2nd week: Lean goals and strategies (Monday-Thursday): Toyotas lessons for todays companies; linking corporative strategies to lean management.
Company Visits and Project work.
3rd week: Lean management for industries and services (Monday-Wednesday): Broadening the concept of lean management: service sector and lean
management concepts and practices. Company Visits and Project work. Graduation Ceremony.
All programs are composed by lectures, mandatory company visits and seminars, and also includes optional visits to the World Trade Organization, The United Nations
Organization European headquarters (both in Geneve) and to the Fashion District of Milan.
