DOUBLE ROW DEEP GROOVE BALL BEARING

This standard describes articles in the Atlas Copco article data base SKOL under family number 0502 7400 00.
Users without access to the SKOL data base can order lists from the Group Standards Department covering the article assortment.

DEGREE OF RECOMMENDATION = Restrictive use

TECHNICAL DATA (recommended)
Material, hardness and surface treatment
Bearing rings and rolling elements
Through-hardening or case-hardening steel.
Cages
Glass fibre reinforced polyamide.
Operating temperature
Bearings with polyamide cages can generally be used at
operating temperatures up to 120C at intermittent
operation, but when lubricants with EP-additives are used,
the bearing manufacturer should be consulted.
In general max. operating temperature is decided by the
lubricant used, which must be considered when choosing
the bearing.
Tolerances
Boundary dimensions and running accuracy according to
ISO 492:1994.
Radial internal clearance according to ISO 5753:1991.
DIMENSIONS
Reference: ISO 15:1981.
For dimensional information consult the SKOL data base or the
assortment list.
For building-in dimensions, see manufacturers/suppliers catalogue.
EXPLANATIONS TO ARTICLE PARAMETERS (SKOL or assortment list)
C and C0 (= basic load rating)
C (=dynamic) and C0 (=static), min. values stated in N (Newton), are used in bearing calculations.

Check current edition in SKOL.

N
R/MIN (= speed rating)
Recommended speed rating is dependent on application and lubrication.
The speed is valid for a grease lubricated bearing. For other types of lubrication, see
manufacturers/suppliers catalogue.
CA
GE (= cage)
No indication = corresponds to manufacturers/suppliers standard design.
For bearings with other than standard cages, the cage designation is indicated as a suffix to the bearing
designation.
The most common cage designations are stated below:
J
Pressed cage of sheet steel.
M
Machined cage of brass.
ML
Flange guided cage of brass.
TB
Inner ring centred cage of fabric reinforced phenolic resin, obsolete type, check with supplier for
availability.
TN
Moulded cage of polyamide 66.
TN9
Moulded cage of glass fibre reinforced polyamide 66.
Y
Pressed cage of sheet brass.
To indicate how the cage is guided in the bearing, the suffix identifying the cage may be followed by
letters A or B.
A indicates that the cage is centred in the outer ring, B that it is centred on the inner ring. No additional
letter indicates that the cage is centred on the rolling elements.
For further information, see manufacturers/suppliers catalogue.

ACC. (= dimensional and running accuracy)

Reference: ISO 492:1994.
No indication = corresponds to manufacturers/suppliers standard design.
/P6
Accuracy according to ISO, tolerance class 6 (finer than standard tolerance).
P6 is standard from some manufacturers.
/P5
Accuracy according to ISO, tolerance class 5 (finer than P6).
P5 is standard for certain bearing sizes from some manufacturers.
/P4
Accuracy according to ISO, tolerance class 4 (finer than P5).
/P4A Dimensional accuracy according to ISO, tolerance class 4, running accuracy according to ISO class 2.
/P2
Accuracy according to ISO, tolerance class 2 (finer than P4).
INT
CL. (= internal clearance)
Reference: ISO 5753:1991.
No indication = corresponds to manufacturers/suppliers standard design.
Bearings are made with normal internal clearance as standard.
Non-standard clearances are stated as follows:
/C2
Clearance less than normal.
/C3
Clearance greater than normal.
/C4
Clearance greater than C3.
/C5
Clearance greater than C4.
Earlier the suffix for accuracy, /P6 or /P5, was combined with the suffix for internal clearance, then the
letter C was excluded.
Example: /P62 = /P6 + /C2. Accuracy /P6 and internal clearance /C2 give suffix /P62.
ENG, SC and SG (design responsibility and degree of recommendation)
Codes according to ACSTD 1003 K.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The most common suffixes have been stated above. They are added to the bearing designation in the
order shown. These suffixes are explained to simplify identification of non-standard bearings.
The following bearing features can also be included as suffixes to the bearing designation:
Quality (= noise, vibration)
No indication = corresponds to manufacturers/suppliers standard design.
Regarding suffixes, see manufacturers/suppliers catalogue.
(QE6 and QE5 designations are no longer used by some manufacturers, as they are included in standard
designs.)
Lubrication
No indication = corresponds to manufacturers/suppliers standard design.
Regarding suffixes, see manufacturers/suppliers catalogue.
In case of other designations, see manufacturers/suppliers catalogue.
