A new infra-red film that could change the way

we see crop circles
New surveillance footage from researcher Winston Keech taken at night
in East Field, Alton Barnes, Wiltshire has revealed an extraordinary
unexpected scene. The incident began in East Field Alton Barnes at
12.24am on 14th July 2009. A bright flash captured clearly on infra-red
film, when slowed down, shows two distinct aerial sphere UFOs
entering the perimeter of the field. At the very moment of their arrival a
giant flash explodes for fractions of a second revealing the
simultaneous arrival of two self contained beams of light. A very large
humanoid figure flashes white in the field, one that towers over the crop.
The overall bulk of the figure could be compared to the size and bulk of
very large upright fridge freezer, perhaps 9 foot tall by comparison to
heights of known structures such as the height of the crop line itself and
the height of the human hoaxers who arrive just after.
There are two of these tall humanoid figures that appear to float
intelligently among the tramlines and hold a very specific position in the
field where the basket crop circle (seen left) is imminent. These figures
remain on film floating about the field until they depart in another flash
at 1.44am. The crucial images are only captured on Winstons high

power infra-red surveillance equipment. Other high resolution cameras
operating simultaneously only capture the 4 human hoaxers operating
in the empty field. This absence on normal high intensity film defines
the tall humanoids as physically different in nature, out of phase with everything else captured in the one hour twenty minute film
sequence. Perhaps they are total net absorbers of visible light without reflection, appearing jet black in normal light, though illuminated
on infra-red.
To merely call these tall humanoids observers, may underestimate their role as upon their arrival at 12.24am the extraordinary
peculiarity of this unique film becomes apparent. Four crop circle hoaxers are seen to proceed across the field to a place exactly where
these figures are standing before commencing their work; it is as if they are being mind controlled to perform their actions. The
hoaxers are observed by the figures throughout, the tall figures floating around the formation and hoaxers to gain new vantage points.
At certain points they stand right next to the hoaxers who seem completely oblivious to their presence. This surveillance film of crop
circle formation by proxy will be shown at our October conference, on the 29th and 30th of October at the Spa complex in
Scarborough.
Commentary by FSR: What an important shock this film is for all concerned. Winstons surveillance findings reveal the infamous crop
circle hoaxers at work; Winstons hi-tech approach to surveillance is perhaps unique in that it captures an act of hoaxing unbeknown
to the hoaxers. We see their actual rate of work, which is laboured due to the complexity of a main three man team, involved in crisscrossing the wheat implicit in this basket weave crop circle design. It looks
as if their slow work rate suggests the ability to create the vastly large and
highly complex formations is beyond them, (as are thermic soil
dehydration, carbonisation and magnetite particles, and the exponential
outward distribution of blown stalk nodes that accompany genuine circles).
It now appears that it was the hoaxers on this occasion that were the mere
pawns of a far greater deception. Human tools used by intelligent tall
humanoids originating from just outside the visible physical realm, in the
ultra far-red spectrum. For many years this journal has consistently
stated that we are highly vulnerable to mental manipulation by the
intelligences behind the UFO phenomenon and that these beings are
right here cloaked outside our visual spectrum. If the hoaxers were
indeed under direct mental influence in creating and placing a crop circle
by proxy, then it is an unequivocal statement for us to pay attention. We

scheduled for autumn 2009.
Winston has noted that there was very high humidity both on the night of
14th July 2009 (and also on 7th July 2007) when he filmed the formation of
the 777 crop circle, a design of many hundreds of feet in diameter. Were the water droplets on both occasions making it easier for a
form of high frequency radar beam to teleport information into our space from somewhere else? When the 777 was filmed on
surveillance footage by Winston it appeared to have been laid down directly into the field in a period of twenty minutes, accompanied
by a flash at the start of the sequence. So perhaps these two films show both sides of the crop circle origin using both direct and indirect
means, in this case by human proxy, to make the circles. So where does this new surveillance film leave the crop circle research
community? Crop circle researchers like our selves are wrestling with media credibility and a tiny under-resourced research community.
Showing a formation is the work of hoaxers apparently influenced by alien humanoids is going to cause major upset. Having listened
to researchers, many have trouble accepting the lifting of the lid on the mystery by Winstons camera technology. It does not fit the
popular vision that the architect of a cosmic plan for humanity could be created by alien technology rather than mother nature or
manifested by spirit. It goes against the popular view of a divine message among crop circle enthusiasts. What if there is in fact another
more subtle, secretive crop circle arena: an elaborately laid test-bed for human discovery of alien processes, to lure us ever closer to
the alien space they occupy and for the few among us who seek this knowledge: to approach them?

On July 7th 2009 at approximately 5.00am a Wiltshire Police Sergeant was driving in his private car towards Marlborough on the
A4 highway and about to pass Silbury Hill on his left. He looked to his right and witnessed three exceptionally tall beings
inspecting the new crop circle which appeared there on the 5th July. He stopped his vehicle and watched them for several
minutes because they stood out as odd.
At first he thought they were forensic officers as they were dressed in white coveralls. He stopped his car and approached the
field. The figures were all over 6ft and had Blonde hair. They seemed to be inspecting the crop. When he got to the edge of the
field he heard what he believed to be a sound not dissimilar to static electricity. This crackling noise seemed to be running
through the field and the crop was moving gently, close to where the noise was moving. He felt the hair on his arms and back
of his neck raise up. He shouted to the figures from a distance of about 400 yards who at first ignored him, not glancing at him.
When he tried to enter the field they looked up and began running. He said They ran faster than any man I have ever seen. Im
no slouch but they were moving so fast. I looked away for a second and when I looked back they were gone. I then got scared.
The noise was still around, but I got an uneasy feeling and headed for the car. For the rest of the day I had a pounding headache
I couldnt shift.

Silent Circle 2009

The beings sounded not too dissimilar to beings Arthur
Shuttlewood encountered in Warminster, and the presence of
the static electricity running along the ground was
documented in these encounters too.
Having driven the route with the officer several times, several
things became apparent: When we arrived at the location
where he parked his car (side of the road) he pointed to where
the beings were, according to the officer one was very near the
brow of the hill, one was a few yards further down in a different
tramline, and one was about halfway down the slight hill. So I
asked the $64,000,000 question about the fact that the
formation couldnt be seen from the road. His response was
that he knew prior to the experience there was a formation
somewhere over there (he had heard this discussed) and he
knew they had been in it. He knew they were inspecting the
crop. When questioned how he knew he said that you know
what day of the week it is, but no-one has told you, you havent
seen a calendar, you just know. Did he have some psychic
awareness? Was something communicated to him? This is a
man who views the world in the black and white of the letter of
the law, this is a man whose testimony can imprison someone,
in my humble opinion he is not taken to flights of fancy with

metaphysical concepts. I am reminded of Mike Booths

experience of seeing some objects working on creating a
circle in a field and the psychic element of that experience. I
think his original statement of figures in the formation was a
generalization based on his knowledge and what we have
learned later. I also think that if his motive was to create a story
he wouldnt have fallen for this basic error, his story would
have knitted together better.
We moved on to the figures running away at speed. If two of
them were so close to the brow of the hill, how much running
would he actually see? One of them would have disappeared
instantly as they were near the brow of the hill. He says that
they moved very fast, as if you were watching a video or DVD
in fast forward mode. This would have been noticeable for the
being farthest from the hill brow. As we spoke I watched the
hairs on the officers arms raise as he relived the experience in
his mind. When I asked whether they ran away out of sight or
disappeared he was adamant they disappeared. He claimed
he glanced away for a second and his claims that the being
that was the furthest away was not near enough the brow of
the hill for him to run out of view despite his rapid movement.
Again, there is a deep knowing they disappeared. As we
stood by the side of the road he became very nervous of the
people gathering at the busy Silbury Hill car park, I believe this
experience has left a mark deeper than he realizes.
After showing me where he tried to enter the field we drove to
his home. We drove the route, and relived the experience
several times. The last three times I timed the route, and asked
him about how long each stage of the experience lasted, and
for the three journeys I timed we have a five minute
discrepancy. Now, even allowing for a busier road (it was
Marlborough Jazz festival last weekend) and how quiet it
would have been the morning of the experience, the timings
do not add up and I believe we
have five minutes missing time.
As a clinical hypnotherapist I have
done quite a bit of work with
experiencers over the years so I
have got quite adept at spotting
missing time. His wife also verifies
the time of his arrival home on that
day, and it tallies with my belief

there is at least five minutes missing time. At the moment the

officer does not wish to explore this missing time.

I was asleep in my bedroom, when for some unknown reason

I was to find myself suddenly and startlingly awake.

After the experience the officer suffered what he called

poltergeist experiences. Several electrical items began to
malfunction and there were strange knocks at the front door.
When the officer answered the door there would be no-one
there. The officer felt he had brought something home with
him, several days after the experience he said that he had felt
a presence within his home. Sometimes, when walking out
to the kitchen, he said he saw in his minds eye a brief
flash of a towering black figure (approx 8ft) standing
before him. These types of events are quite common with
experiencers.

This all took place in the hours of darkness. As I came into the
conscious state, there standing at the bottom of my bed, were
two, human like figures. I would estimate their height
somewhere around at least 6 feet, both were identically
dressed in seemed in a one piece long flowing robes, colour
seemed something like Oatmeal with maybe small dots all over
the material. Their hair seemed also identical, long and fair, or
blond, it was hard to say in the gloom the only light coming
from the outside of my bedroom windows.

A few days after the experience the officer felt there were
pieces of the experience coming to mind that he was not at
first aware of. He came to believe that the beings were
identical, in a clone-like manner but also shared
intelligence, almost in a hive-like mentality. He also
believes that these beings were not responsible for this or
any crop circle. He also went on to state that he shouldnt
have seen what he had seen, and believes this was
communicated to him at the time. He doesnt know where
this information came from and these concepts and
thoughts are outside his usual frame of reference.
I am quite convinced that the officer had an experience that
day, and one that we have not fully explored as I think with the
unusual movement of the beings, the missing time and the
poltergeist type experiences after the event, just to name a few,
there is too much additional information to say this is
something in nothing. I do not believe the officer has the
knowledge to create this story to the detail he has. A cursory
glance on his bookcase in his living room and his study reveal
no books that would suggest a knowledge or belief in UFOs,
parapsychology or the paranormal. His cursory interest in crop
circles comes from an experience his daughter had and how
crop circles affect policing in the Wiltshire area (increased
traffic, irate farmers, reports of damage to crops etc).
Through the original release of this information several people
have come forward to claim similar experiences within the
same area over the last few years. Most of these stories have
excellent leads to follow up on. I believe that this area around
Silbury is especially important, just as much now as it was for
the original builders, and I believe we will see more of these
types of incidents in the future. The officer is planning to use a
police sketch artist from another police authority to produce
images from the experience.

Editorial: What are these tall humanoids doing

in our British Crop Circles?
The word humanoid was allegedly coined by FSR editors
Bowen and Creighton right at the beginning, of the saucer era
when these reports were first coming in. Firstly, to understand
the humanoid perspective, one must shift to a decisive
position to make any sense of the presence of tall blonde
extra-dimensional people in our British fields and in our
homes. Witnesses have encountered humanoids repeatedly
here in the UK since the 1950s, most are too fearful to come
forward. There is still a conservative element among UFO
researchers that displays a superior attitude that the very idea
of human looking aliens being taken seriously is absurd. To
ignore such strong eyewitness statements is to be blind to new
inclusive working models that may seek to explain the
humanoids.

Then it seemed I realised what had awoken me, it was their

eyes, very dark (Black) and I felt boring right into me. I gave
what I will call a loud reflex shout, and at that point the two
figures just disappeared either into thin air or through the wall.
My wife heard me shout, I told her what I had just awoken to.
My first sighting of a Flying Saucer was in broad daylight in the
early 1950's but we have seen other objects over the years. I
often wondered as I looked up at this silver circular flying
object, did anyone on board look down at me? Who knows?
Well that is my story, I have no idea who or what those two
beings were, or what dimension they may have visited from.

the medieval pageboy hair styling, the near identical faces with
blue eyes, the large robust facial anatomy and deep set eyes,
the pallid complexion with blonde hair, and the characteristic
Dutch-German accents. The beings proceeded to disappear
behind the witness two at a time, as she watched them from
her car wing mirror.

Here is a recent email to FSR:

What limits the written word is the absence of direct contact

with the experience by even the learned reader, in the case of
the humanoid encounter, an alien person seen in plain vision
is all that is needed to be wholly aware of what is, rather than
endless circular debates of what cannot be. The fiction for
countless Britons is to have no concept at all that encounters
happen, to be ignorant that people are reporting tall upright
men and women like us and far less of these small alien greys.
If FSR has a key function it is to break with the perceived
wisdom, if what is perceived to be true is found to be weak and
does not account for the reported core evidence.

I have just read some of the articles in your FSR pages and
those of contact. I just wondered about my own experience
which took place towards the beginning of 2009.

The key question in July 2009 is why these particular

humanoids were seen in British crop circles? If we look at the
policemens story he observed an electrostatic environment

crackling over the crop circle as the alien figures stood in the
day old formation. There was also a characteristic rising and
falling to the crop formation, described on other occasions by
witnesses as a kind of breathing movement. As if an energy
field was actively emerging from the earth beneath the crop.
Were these humanoids involved in monitoring or creating a
specific electrostatic process, in effect energising a crop
circle? Winston Keechs covert humanoid films suggest that
these humanoids will quite readily adapt man-made circles for
their own agenda. Perhaps they can electro-statically imprint
programs into an existing circle in order to radiate a specific
energy for a specific purpose.
When we consider the purpose of their clandestine actions, we
might consider the human effect of what a crop circle visit can
do to someone. Overall most visitors merely have their world
view and curiosity briefly peaked by a crop circle visit, yet if
one listens to certain crop circle visitors and compare their
stories to abductees, and or UFO witnesses a striking similarity
emerges. Some among these people have sudden dramatic
perceptual changes in their lives, radical change in their life
priorities, in how they feel and how they live. Their stories are
like listening to spiritual conversion experiences, where they
return home from the circle they immediately change their job;

they may even leave their spouse and unexplainably re-edit

everything they hold dear. If a crop circle can have an effect of
this magnitude, to switch on, convert and overwrite ones
fundamental perspective, splitting open the identity in this way
is a powerful mind altering tool, acting in a way we do not yet
grasp.
Are those who become activated intended to go and seek an
alien communication as in Close Encounters of the Third
Kind? Are they especially receptive or susceptible to this
conversion process? Those who undergo this effect are often
highly educated with established careers; these are not
hippies or people who willingly opt out of society. The crop
circle appears to filter out a small section of its visitors who are
in effect the crop circle contactees. Is this conversion an
extension of a historic grand program: Warminster in the
1960s and 1970s; Adamskis book Flying Saucers have
Landed both had just the same mass catalytic effect. If we see
the product of these blonde humanoid spacemen in these
accounts, old and new, it is to collude with an inspired sector
of our society to seek to open up to a cosmic paradigm
change. Is this an experiment, a crude dress rehearsal to
switch on and convert humanity to become seekers; is this a
technology capable of bewitching us as a race?

A newly uncovered alien abduction incident

in Poland, 1976. Omega. Summer 2009.
Deep in the Australian central outback, Yan recounted an
incident that occurred back in Kielce, Poland in the summer of
1976. It was his one and only event, he has not experienced
anything else to this date. In the days leading up to the event,
nothing unusual happened; it was like any other day,

according to Yan. To begin the events, Yan went to bed as

usual in his first floor apartment. During the early hours of the
morning Yan made a visit to the bathroom. What happened to
Yan next would defy human logic.

Omega: I would like to take you back to the event which occurred in the
early hours of the night, in the summer of 1976.
Yan: I awoke during the night to go to the bathroom, when I was about
to return to the bedroom, I noticed a very bright light streaming through
the window. It illuminated the whole room.
Omega: What colour was this light, were you afraid?
Yan: No, I wasn't afraid at all. The light was a very bright, white light. It
was almost too bright to look at.
Omega: Where was the light emanating from did you see anything else?
Yan: From the bright light I noticed a being coming through the light.
Omega: Was the being human like?
Yan: Not really. The being had short, stumpy arms to the elbow, then very
long, thin for arms. The hand almost reached the floor. This part of the
arm was very long and spindly. The entity had one eye. Here is a strange
thing about his eye, when the being was conveying telepathic thoughts
to me; I noticed there seemed to be two smaller pupils inside the one
eye. These pupils seemed to move independently within the main eye.
Omega: Did you notice if the being had fingers and if so, how many?
Yan: The entity had three fingers and one thumb. The middle finger was
very long, but the other two digits either side were slightly shorter. The
body of the being was covered in small bumps, very similar to a frog skin. The head of the entity was quite large but it had no
neck. One thing I noticed was it seemed to have a brain or a bulbous part of the cranium, at the back of his head. This seemed
to radiate much energy, I could see around the head as if the air was electrically charged.
Omega: What colour was this being?
Yan: I have to say that the entity seemed to have scales or bumps all over it's body, each scale seemed to be metallic. The
whole body seemed to be reflecting bluish light, very similar to Mother of Pearl. The colour changed slightly.
Omega: What were your feelings at this point?
Yan: I had a very strong feeling of euphoria; I seemed to have a telepathic voice in my head saying (in Polish) "Stay calmdon't
be afraid." At no time did I experience any angst.
Omega: Was there any type of odour accompanying the event?
Yan: Yes, there was a very strong smell of vanilla, very thick but very pleasant.
Omega: Can you explain what the entities actions were at that time?
Yan: The 'being' put his hand up with palm facing me. At no time did he touch me but his palm was very close to my skin. It was
at this time I could hear a hissing sound, very similar to wasps. The being seemed to be inspecting me. I felt that his hand
seemed to have x-ray abilities.
Omega: Did the being stay in your room or did he leave?
Yan: What happened next was very strange. Myself and the being started to levitate. We were heading for the closed window; I
thought I would have to open the window at this time, as we were very close. Instead, we flew through the closed window with
ease.
Omega: Did you levitate up and into a craft?
Yan: No, it was not a craft per se, but a large box of some kind. The box was as large as a bus. We seemed to fly through the
walls of the black box. Now, here is another strange thing which I have tried to work out for quite some time, it is the dimensions

of the ship, but to this day can not figure it out. When we were
in the box, the inside seemed huge, far larger than the outside
of the object. Inside there were about twenty or so of these
beings. They looked the same as the entity who accompanied
me, but their sizes were slightly different. They all were about
the same height, about four feet, but some were a little wider,
others were slightly thinner.
Omega: Were you able to hear any sound in the box?
Yan: There was the same sound of a wasp, being given by all
of the entities. It became very loud. At this time, they all came
close to me and stood around in a semi circle. All of the beings
held their right hand palm facing me, they came very close.
Some had their hand near my feet, other palms near my
hands, heart and head. They seemed to be checking out my
insides. This seemed to be an x-ray of some kind.
Omega: Were you able to breathe their atmosphere?
Yan: Yes, the air seemed to be thick moisture of some kind. I
had the distinct impression that the beings were able to
absorb the thick atmosphere through their skin, as a type of
nutrient for them. I thought that maybe I might drown in this
thick fluid and would not be able to breathe but no, I could
breathe quite well. Every time they came close to me I felt
warm. To this day I have an itching sensation under my skin,
where they held their palm close to me. It feels like electricity
or ants crawling under my skin.
Omega: How long were you in the box and how did you return
to your bedroom?
Yan: I could have been in the ship for about 2 hours, but, here
is another strange thing time seemed to stand still, I had no

idea of time, it seemed not to exist. The same entity which was
responsible for my abduction, took me back to my room. We
were gliding through the walls of the box, then through the
walls of my bedroom. I then went to sleep.
Omega: How did you sleep?
Yan: I had a very fitful sleep, I am now had a feeling that I had
a brain storm. Flashing images filled my brain, as if everything
I had seen during my life was being replayed. I felt that they
opened my brain. I didn't receive anything from them but I
think they came to analyze me. The only thing they told me
was to keep calm, everything would be alright, be happy.
Post-script: Even today, more than thirty years after the
incident, Yan is still troubled by headaches, fitful sleep and still
experiences itching sensations under his skin on a daily basis.
In spite of this, Yan has a very positive outlook of his close
encounter, and says he would willingly go through the
experience again if the chance came to do so. Of special note
in this case are two important points:
1. The auditory buzzing and itching of the skin that resembles
the microwave mental communication theory of Spanish
researcher Joaquim Fernandes featured in our last issue
53.4.
2. The description of a breathable fluid environment inside the
craft.
The late U.S. UFO researcher Carla Turner features an
important discussion by an Austrian scientist and MUFON
member Helmut Lammer from 1995 on her web site

Tank/tube experiences

An extract taken from looking behind the alien/military abduction agenda.

Dan Wright, head of the MUFON Abduction Transcription
Project, reviewed his records concerning tube or tank
experiences of alleged alien abductees. He found several
cases in his files in which the abductee saw a tube during
her/his experience, but did not identify anything or anyone
inside it. In 4 cases abductees described large clear tubes and
recalled either being placed inside it or seeing someone else
inside. Two of these 4 abductees saw an alien creature in the
tube. Dan Wright's files reveal 3 cases in which the abductee
was in a tank filled with liquid and in two cases the victim was
forced to breathe the liquid! None of the abductees who
placed in a tube or tank reported any unusual mind set like
Andree (out of body experience, remote viewing, or the like)
during their time in these containers. ''Two'' of seven tank cases
reported military involvement, but not on the same night as the
tube or tank episode.
MILAB victim Lisa (pseudonym) had similar tank experiences
like Dan Wright's alien abductees. She was kidnapped and
brought to a military underground facility, where she saw
naked humans floating in tubes. Lisa for instance claims that
she was forced by humans into some type of pool filled with a
golden yellow bubbly fluid, while other humans looked at her.
Lisa has traumatic recollections that her kidnappers tried to
make her and other victims able to breath in the liquid. In two
of the before mentioned cases the abductee was forced to
breath the liquid like Lisa. The hypnosis transcripts reveal that
the liquid breathing experiences were traumatic for the
abductees. Both abductees where totally immersed in the
liquid and both reported that they could breath the fluid.
Alien abductees, such as Betty Andreason report sometimes
that they were put inside a tube filled with liquid for the
compensation of large gravity forces during high UFO
acceleration periods. One abductee of Dan Wright's files

describes such an experience inside such a tube:

''it's like water in there, it's like being in a swimming pool, only
I can see through the sides...it feels like we are moving. Where
are we going? Whoa, thats fast. Feels like we are moving fast.
Oh! And one's standing outside. He's telling me, ''Thats why
we had to put you in here, because we are moving too fast.''
Acceleration. Something about gravity forces being too much.''
It is interesting to note that under hypnosis this abductee
reported how the abductors put something in her nose before
they put her in the tube. This means that this abductee was not
forced to breathe the liquid. Recent scientific studies of visual
and photographic sightings of UFOs carrying out ''impossible''
high speed manoeuvres by Dr. Bruce Maccabee would
support such gravity force compensation tube experiences if
the abductee was indeed in a real UFO. Dr. Bruce Maccabee
stated in his article ''Acceleration'', that an UFOnaut or
abductee inside a UFO accelerating at 500 g's would be
pushed by the walls of the craft with a force that would make
him seem weigh almost 500 times his weight on Earth. The
body of an abductee might be crushed at that acceleration,
and the skin might be pulled off the bones, unless the human
was suspended in a liquid and the lungs and other body
cavities were filled with liquid!
FSR Comment: The long standing question of whether there
are lethal effects of extreme acceleration on board UFOs is
scientifically tackled in this issue by science author John

book on Einsteins theories and more called RELATIVITY+,

Witkowski in recent issues, FSR will continue to publish rational

UFOs and antigravity

When I see a
picture
of

circles, my eyes
roll. When I see
somebody touting
some UFO hubcap home movie,
I sigh. And when I
hear
people
talking
about
abductions and
implants and ley
lines, I have to say
I
groan.
The
reason is there's tons of chaff out there, and it buries the
golden nuggets, and gives UFOs a bad name. Let's get one
thing clear: UFOs exist. There are objects in our skies that are
unidentified, and they are flying. Some might turn out to be
birds, others might be planes. Some will be balloons, or
meteors, or the planet Venus. But not all. When an airline pilot
says he was buzzed by something that turned on a sixpence,
I take it seriously. I remain alert to reports that involve rapid
acceleration, particularly from multiple impartial witnesses. I
have a special reason for this. Eleven years ago in July 1998,
I was enjoying a last cigarette at the back of the house. It was
a clear night, and the stars were burning bright. I noticed one
star that appeared to be moving, very slowly, from north to
south. At first I wondered if it was a satellite, but then I decided
it was an aircraft. As I watched, I was a little surprised to see
another star moving from the south towards it. They didn't
meet; instead when they were a thumbnail apart they changed
direction instantly. Suddenly the first star was tracking east, the
other one west. It wasn't much to look at, but I felt a shiver as
I said to myself: planes don't do that. I ran for my camera and
took a series of pictures, but they came out black, so I have no
evidence. When I've told people about it, all too often the
response is an indulgent smile. But I know what I saw, and
ever since then, I've been curious about how an object in the
sky can defy the laws of physics. But that was then, this is now,
and now I know how they do it.
Imagine you're in a spacecraft travelling at a constant velocity.
You'd be floating around pushing yourself off the walls, doing
somersaults and playing games with globules of water. Now
imagine that I magic up a planet beneath you, and you start
falling towards it. You're still weightless, you don't feel the force
of gravity, and you wouldn't notice any change in direction
unless you looked out of the window. In a way you're not
really accelerating - the principle of equivalence compares
acceleration with the force you feel when you're standing
on the ground, not with the free-fall situation. You continue
to fall in an arc towards the planet, then with a snap of my
fingers I make the planet go away, and you continue travelling
in a new direction. We can repeat this scenario with a smaller
denser planet that provides a more intense gravitational field,
so tightening the curve, but at no point will you be thrown
around like in a swerving car. You don't feel a thing, because
you're in free-fall all the time. When we replace the planet
with an artificially-generated gravitational field, you end up

making sharp turns without being mashed against the inside

of your spaceship. Thus you defy inertia. If we employ an
artificially-generated gravitational field in opposition to the
Earth's, you defy gravity too.
It's important to appreciate here that when Einstein came up
with general relativity in 1916, he was talking about the
equations of motion, not curved space-time. Curved spacetime was popularised by Robert H. Dicke in the sixties, and it's
the effect, not the cause. To understand this, think in terms of
a boating lake, where I've previously dumped a truckload of
gelatine powder all down the left hand side. You wind up a
clockwork boat and send it beetling up the lake, and you
notice it veers over to the left. That's because there's a
viscosity gradient from left to right. The boat represents a
photon, and the path of the boat represents curved spacetime. But the cause of that curved path, is a gradient in space.
It's actually a gradient in vacuum impedance Z0 = (0/e0)
wherein the speed of light is c = (1/e00).
The speed of light varies, and
that's why light curves and why
things fall down. If you've ever
heard of pair production
you'll know that a photon can
be employed to make an
electron and a positron. The
electron exhibits spin and
angular momentum, and you
can think of it as a clockwork
boat with the rudder jammed
hard over. Wind it up and set it
down on the boating lake, and it goes round and round in
circles. But whenever it's heading up or down the lake, it's
veering slightly over to the left because of the viscosity
gradient. Hence it works its way over to the left-hand side. It
really is like this, and surprisingly, it goes all the way back to
Newton. If you've got a copy of Opticks, check out queries 20
and 21, and what you read is this:
"Doth not this aethereal medium in passing out of water, glass,
crystal, and other compact and dense bodies in empty spaces,
grow denser and denser by degrees, and by that means refract
the rays of light not in a point, but by bending them gradually in
curve lines? Is not this medium much rarer within the dense
bodies of the Sun, stars, planets and comets, than in the empty
celestial space between them? And in passing from them to
great distances, doth it not grow denser and denser
perpetually, and thereby cause the gravity of those great bodies
towards one another, and of their parts towards the bodies;
every body endeavouring to go from the denser parts of the
medium towards the rarer?"
He got the energy density back to front, but it's close enough,
and in query 30 you can even read him anticipating pair
production with "Are not gross bodies and light convertible into
one another?" Even more surprising is the fact that Einstein
talked about the variable speed of light. See chapter 22 of
Relativity: The Special and General Theory. What you read is
this:
"In the second place our result shows that, according to the
general theory of relativity, the law of the constancy of the
velocity of light in vacuo, which constitutes one of the two
fundamental assumptions in the special theory of relativity and
to which we have already frequently referred, cannot claim any
unlimited validity. A curvature of rays of light can only take place
when the velocity of propagation of light varies with position.

Now we might think that as a consequence of this, the special

theory of relativity and with it the whole theory of relativity would
be laid in the dust. But in reality this is not the case. We can
only conclude that the special theory of relativity cannot claim
an unlimited domain of validity; its results hold only so long as
we are able to disregard the influences of gravitational fields on
the phenomena (e.g. of light)".
Einstein didn't actually use the word velocity. He spoke
German, and the word he used was geschwindigkeit. It means
both speed and velocity, and since the postulate of special
relativity was the constant speed of light, this is Einstein
telling us the speed of light varies, and that's why things
fall down. UFOs don't fall down, and they aren't riding on
reaction thrust like a rocket, or winging it on deflected airflow
like an aircraft. Instead they're using antigravity. They can
generate a gravitational field and use it to turn corners and
oppose the earth's gravitational field. It might sound like
science fiction, but it's simple. It's like there's a little man in
your clockwork boat throwing jello bombs into the water to
make the boat veer to the right. You've even seen a form of
antigravity already. It's called diamagnetic levitation. The
pyrolytic carbon floating above the magnets isn't a magnet,
and it doesn't fall down:

this operates via the
"helicopter"
principle, which is a
little clunky. There's
a far more elegant
"dirigible" principle
which gets right
down
to
the
fundamentals
of
electrodynamics. It
goes
back
to
Maxwell
and
Faraday, but there's
a nice clue in
Minkowski's

field as a magnetic field. It's the same when the electrons move
past you as per the current going up the wire. For some real
hands-on intuitive grasp, find a drill-bit or a reamer which
exhibits a twist. Grip it in your right hand, put your left thumb
on the bottom of it, and push. It turns. The electric field doesn't
create the magnetic field, it's the same thing. That's why it's the
electromagnetic field. People say it's fundamental, but it isn't
fundamental enough, because you create electrons with their
electromagnetic field via pair production. You started with a
photon, and to get right down to the true fundamentals we
have to look at a photon more closely. It exhibits a sinusoidal
electromagnetic field variation like this:
Whilst the positive and negative field
variation means there's no charge, it
does tell us that there's current going
first one way then the other. It's
alternating current, which is why
impedance Z0 = (0/e0) applies. Since we're talking about
twist and turn, and since the photon conveys energy, and
since the dimensionality of energy is pressure x volume, the
photon's sinusoidal field-variation is giving us the shape of a
pressure pulse propagating through space at c:

"Then in the description of the field produced by the electron

we see that the separation of the field into electric and
magnetic force is a relative one with regard to the underlying
time axis; the most perspicuous way of describing the two
forces together is on a certain analogy with the wrench in
mechanics, though the analogy is not complete".

To understand this, think of a single electron. It exhibits a

spherical electric field. Now think of a string of electrons
arranged in a vertical line. The electric field is more cylindrical.
Now move down the line of electrons, and you see this electric

It's essentially a space warp, akin to a lemon, in that the twist

rises to a maximum a quarter-way along its length, and then
goes to zero at the midpoint, then to a maximum the other way,
and finally back to zero. The pressure "conditions" the
surrounding space, which you can see better in the cubiclattice drawing below:
The electromagnetic field is where the squares are twisted out
of true, and the gravitational field is the surrounding pressure
gradient. The pressure alters permittivity e0 which is
"twistability", and also the permeability 0, the reciprocal of
which is "turnability". In essence it makes space stronger. At
the fundamental level, gravity is the result of a gradient in
vacuum impedance Z0 = (0/e0) wherein the speed of light
c = (10/e0) is subject to a similar gradient. Gravity doesn't
cause the gravitational time dilation that reduces the non-local
speed of light. That's back to front - we use the motion of light
to calibrate our clocks. It's the gradient in the speed of light

that causes gravity. And it's energy that causes the

gradient in the speed of light.
It's a little like the rubber-sheet analogy. Get rid of the bowling
ball and tie a knot in the rubber sheet instead. The knot
represents the matter/energy of a planet, and surrounding it is
a tension gradient. Now turn the rubber sheet into a rubber
block, and flip things around so it's under pressure rather than
tension. The planet is creating a pressure gradient in the
surrounding space. As an aside, there's also a gradient in the
relative strength of electromagnetic force versus the strong
force, as demonstrated by the fact that the fine structure
constant a = e/2e0hc is a "running" constant, meaning gravity
is itself an exhibition of the unification of the forces.

into lateral motion, and in similar vein the kinetic energy of a

falling body comes from the body itself. Neglecting air
resistance, the body will hit the earth at 11 km/s. That's a lot of
kinetic energy, and it's been bled out of the body by virtue of
the reducing c. Assuming the body survives the impact and
cools down, its total energy is now less than it was in free
space. And if we use antigravity to lift that body, we aren't
putting any energy back. Lift it too far, too fast, and every
atom of that body is going to go cold. We're talking deep
cold here, limb-shattering cold. So we'll have to take care.
But it won't get in our way, not now we know how simple it all
is. Not now we can see what was always there in special
relativity: electrons are made of light, along with protons, and
our rods and clocks. We are made of light. That's why we
always measure the speed of light to be the same, and why we
can never go faster than light. That won't get in our way either,
because of the time dilation, so the road lies open. A cold
wind's been blowing, but now the future is bright. Does
anybody know anybody with a few radio and radar engineers
on the staff? And who's up for a trip to Mars? After that we
won't be reaching for Mars any more. I look up to the night sky
and feel another shiver: we'll be reaching for the stars.

So how do we actually make a pressure gradient? It's actually
very simple, we do it every day. Radio engineers know all
about it. It's the "near field", the region close to a transmitter.
It's what's called an evanescent wave. It's a standing wave,
like a bow wave on a boat or a bridge pier. There's even one in
your kitchen, in your microwave cooker. But that's too small,
and is merely a by-product. Instead of throwing out a signal
and dissipating most of the power in an outgoing pressure
pulse, we want to keep it there and pump it up. Whilst the
magnetron in your microwave is like blowing a whistle, what
we want to do is blow up a balloon. That's why it's akin to a
dirigible. We need to pump up the pressure and let the
gradient counteract the earth's gravitational field. We need
radio wavelengths for this, because the near-field region is
typically half a wavelength in extent. And we need some
power. We're probably talking big current and big voltage, so I
don't feel like messing around in my garage. To get the ball
rolling we lean a short-wave HRS antenna on its side, we set a
hosepipe flowing and watch the arc of water. Once we've got
something basic going, we then figure out how to handle it so
we can do a fast inflation then swing round the gradient to turn
on a sixpence. There's doubtless lessons already learned from
radar here. Magnetrons are used in radar, along with
considerable computing power. We need to turn that
computing power around to set the pulse location and
intensity instead of decoding a signal. Then we ramp things up
a little. Think medium wave. Think long wave.
Of course, there is no free lunch. Think back to that circling
clockwork boat working its way over to the left-hand-side of
the lake. Only half the cycle is heading up or down the lake,
which is why light is deflected twice as much as matter. But
more to the point, once it's over on the left hand side, the boat
is circling slower. Some of the circling motion was converted

If you are walking in the snow, and the snow is deeper

towards your left hand side, then there will be more drag
on your left foot. (If you haven't walked in snow, imagine
walking in wet mud instead). This means your left foot will
be inclined to take slightly shorter steps because of the
extra drag of the snow. So you will tend to veer to the left,
towards where the snow is deeper.
That is similar to how gravity works in three dimensions.
Gravity in space is like the depth of snow over a field, the
drag depends on the depth of the snow. If the depth of
snow varies from one side to the other side of the field,
then the drag will be different. This difference in drag is
called a "viscosity gradient".
UFO's operate by manipulating this "viscosity gradient" in
space. It's similar to someone throwing extra snow in front
of them, more towards one side of their path, to alter their
speed and direction.
Gravity is normally thought of as curved space-time, but its
caused by a gradient in space, which in turn is caused by the
central matter-energy of a planet. We can counter this gradient
using a magnetic field to keep a frog suspended in the air. Its
called diamagnetic levitation and it works like a helicopter.
Diamagnetic levitation is like a corkscrew, but think in terms of
a corkscrew motion rather than a force. Think of a wire
corkscrew, akin to a helical spring, and a small ring, Assuming
no friction, that ring will slide round and round and down like
a helter-skelter. Now rotate the corkscrew and the ring goes
round and round but not down. The corkscrew is going up
instead
However a better way to counter the gradient is to use the
evanescent wave which surrounds a radio transmitter. This
works like a dirigible balloon. The point is that you dont want
any radio output. Ideally we want a way to create the
evanescent wave without radiating any power. By doing so in
a controlled fashion you can defy gravity and inertia, but if you
climb too fast you go too cold because you arent adding any
energy to the system.

A possible clue for a "near field" in the region

close to a transmitter evanescent wave.
A chance conversation about radar by John revealed the following important description from a witness:
I grew up around Loran Radar Stations, and from what I know
about 'free electric current' it does produce density that is
definitely noticeable in many different ways. We would jokingly
play catch with volcanic rocks close to the radar stations just
because it altered the physics of how the rocks flew, not by
much, but strangely enough to have fun as a kid.
Kodiak Island is full of volcanic or porous rock materials, which
makes them prone to electromagnetic influence I guess, and
lighter than normal rocks, which seems to help. We just liked
lobbing them up into the air and watching them fall. They just
tumbled wrong. Not a suspension, not a push, just... slightly
off... different. You would see them go up and come down all
just the same, but their behaviour for doing so was like
watching a professional tumbler jump and have their inner ear

flood mid jump and use their training to keep their fall stable,
though it now lacked all signs of grace. That's the best way I
can think of to describe it".
LORAN (LOng RAnge Navigation) is a terrestrial radio
navigation system using low frequency radio transmitters that
uses multiple transmitters (multilateration) to determine
location and/or speed of the receiver. The current version of
LORAN in common use is LORAN-C, which operates in the low
frequency portion of the EM spectrum from 90 to 110 kHz.
Many nations are users of the system, including the United
States, Japan, and several European countries. Russia uses a
nearly identical system in the same frequency range, called
CHAYKA. LORAN use is in steep decline, with GPS being the
primary replacement.

Where are the unopened opened UK files?

After an announcement in December 2007 of a three year
rolling program for the staged release of the British
Governments official UFO files, May and October 2008, March
and August 2009 saw in the first two phases of this release.
Even the most gullible of ufologists understood that these
boring dusty old files, bursting with insignificance, did not
represent the cases of consequence.
Russell Kellett now presents an important new and alternative
UK file for those of us in the British public who have the
maturity to acknowledge the alien threat is real, as illustrated
in this new case from the 1955. NATO and Soviet strategic air

command potentially set the full weight of their air forces on

collision course as both mistook a UFO wing flying across
Central Europe from East to West as warplanes. This could
have gone all the way to triggering a nuclear exchange, and
surely the UFO pilots knew that overflying this part of Europe
at the height of the cold war was a high risk manoeuvre
dangerous to world peace. As you will read, these UFO pilots
also understood when it was time to jump away when a wing
of US Sabre fighters intercepted them and were then ordered
to challenge and fire. You wont find UFO files like these being
released any time soon from the M.O.D.

Where are the missing 10,000 files?

Gordon Creighton wrote in FSR 28.5 (1983) under the heading
"White Wash and Blather Department" The Daily Mail
(05/03/82) report on The Earl of Clancarty (Former FSR Editor
Brinsley le Poer Trench) asked a question in the house of
Lords the previous day, "How many reports of UFOs have
been received by the MOD during the last 4 years, 1978-1981
and what action has been taken about them?" Lord Hill Norton,
a former Chief of Britain's Defence Staff, proceeded to draw
attention to the extraordinary fact that the whole of the
ministry's records of UFO sightings for all the years prior to
1962 have been destroyed because someone had decided
that they were of no interest!" The minister Lord Long replied
that all UFO reports received since 1967 were being preserved
at present. Prior to 1967, said Lord Long, the five year
destruction rule had been generally applied.
Creighton continues, all this is extremely interesting, for it
happens that way back in 1956, Mr David Wightman, then

editor of the now defunct UFO research magazine Uranus, in

the company of Mr John Pitt, a professional journalist who had
previously served in British Military Intelligence, were granted
a two-hour interview with a senior official of the British Air
Ministry for the purpose of discussing the matter of UFOs. This
appeared in Uranus Vol.2, No. 6 and Vol.3 No.3, also FSR
Vol.2, No.5 (September 1956).
The most important thingthat Messrs Wightman and Pitt
discovered in their interview at the Air Ministry was that the
latter had, in early 1956, 10,000 UFO reports on file for the
period 1947-1956. This is almost as many as the U.S. Air Force
were to claim to have on file (13,134) twelve years later (1968)
at the time of the Condon Report! And we are now asked to
believe that those 10,000 UFO reports 'contained nothing of
interest,' and had all been destroyed by 1962! Let us say it
plainly, here and now. We don't believe a word of it, and only
imbeciles would believe it.

No Name No Pack Drill. Russell Kellett.

"A soldier whose kit on parade was unsatisfactory would have
his name taken by the NCO on the orders of the inspecting
officer (see Wilfred Owen's poem Inspection), and would be
put on a charge before his company commander. The resulting
penalty would, at one time, probably have included a period of
drill in full kit ("pack drill"). A good parade was one during
which no one's kit was below standard, so no names were

taken, so no pack drill would ensue. Hence the expression

implying that the fewer names named the better.
Monday 17th August had seen the release of more old
documents from the M.O.D.s U.F.O. department which had
made its way into the media from news papers to television &
radio, not forgetting the new media of the internet web-sites. It
was during this period I received a phone call from a man I call

Mr B, it is my policy for the last twenty years to protect the

identity of witnesses, hence, the name of this article. It was
because of this anonymity that inspired Mr B to contact me.
His remarkable insiders story of what happened when flying

saucers crossed Europe in 1955 was given to me because he

wanted to readdress the balance of those who have chosen to
misinform the media about the grave truth of the matter.

MR Bs Story.
From 1953 to 1955 I was working on radar at Bawdsey in
Suffolk, at that time the most advanced in Europe. Mostly I was
with a team working on American FP53 (Fixed Pulse Search
Mark 3). It was long range radar penetrating 2000 miles into
Russia. Unfortunately because of the curvature of the Earth
and radio waves only travel in straight lines we could only
reach Moscow and then only if the aircraft were above
20.000ft.

to the Americans and they consented to send a flight of Super

Sabres.

Our orders were not to chart local domestic flights or

commercial airlines, only those which might pose a threat to
England, this was when the cold war was at its height and
Russia was being very belligerent. It was very interesting to
see all the traffic in and out of Moscow airport. At times there
were unexplained responses at the very edge of our range.
Always the objects were in pairs, travelling at high speed.
When I enquired about them, I was told they were nothing but
electrical interference caused by atmospheric pressure (as if!)
and that they were not to be plotted so we ignored them, but
still kept an eye on them!

Those of us who had free time went down to the ops room in
the complex to watch on another type of radar: GCI mark 7
(Ground control interception) which was used to practice dogfights between the American and British fighters and bombers.
This time it was for real and the Type 7 operators took over
from our FP53. They diverted the American planes to where
the enemy planes were now circling London until the Sabres
own nose radar could make contact.

The 1955 Ilyushin bomber was in fact a premature failed jet

design only used for Soviet propaganda purposes
We were on 24 hour alert and our crew worked 4hour shifts.
One night in the spring of 1955, we were working midnight till
4am when we detected two aircraft leaving Moscow and
heading toward London. We thought they were the new
Ilyushin bombers the Russians had.
We passed on the information to the operations room in the
new complex 200 feet below the cliff top. We were told to see
what they would do next. They continued on the same course,
thats when we started to get worried! The C.O. was aroused
and agreed it could be something serious, so he contacted
fighter command at Eleven Group HQ. They again checked
with us and we confirmed that the planes were still coming at
300mph at 30,000 feet. Fighter command alerted London who
liaised with Washington. Then they both rang the hot line to
Moscow requesting that they recalled their planes who by then
were approaching Poland.
The Russians denied they were theirs. In fact they thought they
were ours! They had already scrambled a squadron to shoot
them down when the planes turned toward London. By then,
they were over Germany, still on course. We had airfield radar
on our bases in Germany and they also started tracking the
planes but only for a short while as their range was only about
50 miles, just enough for ground control at the airports.
I cannot vouch for the reaction of the three governments as all
we got was coming down the grapevine from HQ. When the
planes crossed the German coastline, we requested a flight of
fighters to intercept. At that time the Spitfire had been phased
out and replaced with Meteors which were faster but still no
match for the approaching planes. A request was urgently put

All this took time. They were now crossing our coast so our
long range radar was useless so close to home. So we had to
resume our watch over Russia. The FP53 control room was
situated on the cliff top as the contractors hadnt finished
laying the cables to enable us to work underground within the
main complex.

When that happened, they waited for orders, which were to

challenge them. If there was no response, they were to open
fire. By then the U.S. pilots were close enough to make visual
contact. Suddenly we were deafened by all their voices
shouting in amazement. They are not planes, they are round
flat discs! You can imagine the reaction in the ops room when
we heard the radios screaming these words!
The UFOs ignored the challenge but before the U.S. planes
could open fire the UFOs took off vertically at a speed we
couldnt calculate as they were too fast for our equipment. The
nearest calculation we managed was 20,000 mph. That was
the end of the matter, or so we thought!
At 4am our shift finished and we signed off and went to bed,
too excited to really sleep, but eventually we did. We were
awakened early next morning to a terrific hullabaloo all over
the camp. After all the excitement of the previous night we
were terrified the UFOs had landed. The camp was sealed off
and full of white helmeted armed US air police, our service
police and special branch etc. etc. The perimeter fence was
patrolled 24/7 by armed U.S. police. No-one was allowed in or
out. The ferry to Felixstowe was held on the far side of the River
Deben. We were completely sealed in. Telephones were all cut
off. We were ordered not to talk about this to anyone not even
amongst ourselves or try to communicate to the outside world.
The camp was sealed off for 2 weeks. We had to sign a set of
special documents, oath of allegiance, official secrets and also
the U.S. equivalent forms and ordered never to reveal what
happened. Even telling us we all had been confused and
nothing extraordinary had taken place! If that were true: why all
the panic? Every document and tape of the event was
confiscated until there was not a shred of evidence left about
the incident. The official line was mass hysteria. Trained
pilots, air force personnel, computers, radio and radar dont
get hysterical.
Comment by FSR: In recent years we have repeatedly read the
following statement used by the Ministry of Defence to assure
the public they are fulfilling their duty to protect British subjects:
The Ministry of Defence does not attempt to identify such
aircraft unless it sees evidence to suggest that UK airspace has
been compromised by hostile or unauthorized air activity.
Think about this case, it was 1955 and two unidentified
potentially hostile aircraft were seen taking off on radar from

red China. This may have led to President Eisenhowers

choice words about nuclear weapons, These things can be
used on strictly military purposes. I see no reason why
they shouldnt be used just exactly as you would use a
bullet. Now consider this new case in that unprecedented
dangerous context. If the flying saucers had triggered
sufficient panic to scramble a pre-emptive nuclear strike force
from both sides sent to do the unthinkable, then more and
more fatal decisions could have cascaded from this one
incursion, the result, a sudden dangerous massing of bomber
aircraft picked up on radar.

Moscow, travelling at high altitude across the main cities of

central Europe before finishing up circling London. This
happened at the height of the cold war, the possibility that
nuclear weapons were on board these two unknowns must
have been apparent to everybody at the time.
Lets put 1955 in context, FSR 53.1 features Art Campbells
assessment of a spring 1955 nuclear crisis over Taiwan
between America and the combined forces of the USSR and

An epilogue for this case would be the agreement signed in

1971 between the USSR and the USA to put systems in place
to prevent a nuclear exchange triggered by UFOs among
other causes, Where this case leaves assurances that we dont
need to identify such aircraft unless there is evidence UK
airspace has been compromised by hostile or unauthorized air
activity, we leave to our readers to decide. We are now in the
stealth age, the divergence between a radar invisible military
aircraft and a UFO is minimal, a chance incursion could
conceivably trigger a new nuclear exchange when the world is
next faced by the inevitable crisis between the super-powers.

This 1957 case involved radar contact without visual
identification of a very large airliner sized unknown craft. This
was tracked as a near stationary object over East Anglia by
both ground based and airborne radar. The pilot, Torres, was
ordered to lock on and launch his entire rocket salvo. At that
point, before he could act, the object moved rapidly out of
range speeding away at least Mach 10 off the Suffolk coast
and out to sea. British researcher David Cayton has calculated
that the UFO must have instantly accelerated by up to
7,500mph. Torres was debriefed by an officer from off the
base, and ordered that the whole event was to remain
classified as a National Security matter.
US Sabre fighter
A much publicised case recovered from 2008 documents
featured in enquires with the M.O.D. during the first release of
British UFO documents is the Milton Torres UFO intercept of
May 20th 1957.
U.S. fighter pilot Milton Torres accidentally bumped into British
UFO researcher Harry Harris in 1988 and was responsible for
the release of the story. Again the case involved a US Sabre
aircraft being guided over the same radar installations at

As a footnote, one could be suspicious that this is a grown up

case deliberately left in the British UFO files. This one serious
case exists in isolation because Torres had unexpectedly
shared his UFO interception story with a UFO researcher. The
real story of UFO action over British skies and intruders on our
soil is a desperate tale of a steep learning curve that took place
with inevitable losses. The UFO story can only be our own if we
the ordinary citizens abandoned by government gather our
own independent data by our own institution.

Another radar case, a gigantic UFO passed

over Britain at midnight during a cold war
exercise, operation Bulldog in August 1949.
FSR Vol. 37, No.4 featured a complete report by another
radar operator, described an excercise "Operation Bulldog"
a 15 day excercise where U.S. combat planes based in
Europe and aircraft taken from Benelux countries were to
simulate an attack on Britain. Flying in from airfields in
Holland, France, Belgium and Germany, they were to
"attack" London and other targets in Southern England

while the defenders of Britain were to be RAF Fighter

Command. Britain's radar defence chain ran from Land's
End along the South Coast and then up the East Coast to
the North of Scotland from sea-level up to 100,000 ft.
In 1948, the worsening international situation led the Air
Ministry to decide upon urgent action to improve the United
Kingdom's radar defences. Following a period of intensive

technical and operational study, in 1949 the Air Ministry

decided to construct a new chain of radar stations in the UK.
This was a far reaching plan designed to make use of the latest
technology available, and to secure maximum freedom from
enemy attack by relocating most of large number of mobile
radar convoys for tactical use. The rebuilding of the radar
defences of the UK was given the codeword ROTOR, and the
supply of the mobile radar convoys was covered by the
codeword `VAST'. The ROTOR programme called for nearly
30 GCI stations, over half of which were built in R3
(underground) and R6 (above ground) two level bunkers,
together with CEW and CHEL stations located in single storey
bunkers designated the R1 and R2 respectively. Plot
information from the new radar chain was voice-told to five R4
three level underground Sector Operations Centres.

Station used for verbally directing fighter aircraft onto targets

by means of radar guidance and radio transmission. It had 2
radars a Type 14 and a Type 7 each revolving 4 sweeps per
minute and out of synch with each other, in this way, it was
possible to secure 8 plots per minute on flying targets.
Halfway through the August exercise the witness and his
colleague were on duty at midnight. An object was spotted
travelling parallel to the South coast traveling from West to
East. When it arrived at a position off the "heel" of Kent, it
abruptly turned northwards, it approached the estuary of the
River Thames, it was pased on to Martlesham Radar Station
near Ipswhich Suffolk. Shotly after the Sandwhich station lost
contact with the object. It was the Radar Operators job to
assess the speed of the object from the times and distances
plotted while spped could be read from the type 14 Radar
designed to read the altitude of aircraft within its range. This
object was travelling at an airspeed of nearly 3000 miles per
hour at 50,000 feet (The air speed record at the time was
606.36 m.p.h. the largest aircraft at the time was the USAF
Superfortress which travelled at 360 m.p.h.). Experienced
radar personnel present at the station compared it's size to the
echo of a large passenger ship, in the range of 15,00 or 20,000
tons. Word filtered down from Bampton Radar Station in
Yorkshire, the object suddenly increased speed and heading
straight upwards vanished off screen at about 10,000 ft.
The epilogue of this case was the duty watch book vanished
and was replaced, the witness and his colleague were read the
Official Secrets Act and ordered not to mention the night
occurences to anyone.
Comment by FSR: The last paragraphs of the article mentions
Operation Bulldog was devised to to raise Britain's defences to
the highest level of efficiency to prevent possible nuclear
attack. This object may have conveyed a message to remind
the participants that they were being observed. FSR 51.1
described an account in a letter to FSR in 1994 of a German
witness, a chemist, who saw a massive flaming Adamski cigar
over Hamburg on the first night of the raid in July 1943. In his
words "That big fellow was having a grandstand view of all that
was going on below." These huge flying objects when they
come into the open do so for a statement, the strongest
message may be to remind us that we do not observe this
world in isolation, they too have ops rooms and monitoring
stations, moving over our skies.

career. This man would have demolished Donald Menzels illusion of competent testimony for the Condon Committee.
The question of lethal G Force acting on UFO occupants, the 90 degree turns and the active tilting mechanism that steers the
saucer and prevents drag and negative lift. Even the gamma and X-ray emanations that follow Alan Wattss ideas of the Gamma

Paul R Hill was a leading engineer and
manager at the NACA (later NASA) Langley,
Virginia research centre. He was a leader in
developing solid rockets and wind tunnels to
test high-speed aircraft, missiles and
spacecraft. He needed no study of hundreds of
cases, photographs, or other evidence to

convince him of the reality of UFO's. He had seen them with his
own eyes. This led him to produce a complete engineering
explanation of the UFO phenomenon using known physics. He
found there was no need for recourse to other dimensions,
faster-than-light-travel, or mystical explanations.
Paul R Hill

Hill witnessed a quartet of UFO's manoeuvre in the sky in

1952. His trained eye, having observed dozens of rocket

launches and aircraft flight tests, could judge the velocity and
G-capabilities of the objects. He had been involved in virtually
every highly-classified high-performance rocket and aircraft
program in the United States. He knew immediately what he
saw could not be of earthly construction
However his supervisor, Bob Gilruth (Director of NASA
Houston during the Apollo moon landing project), enforced an
official policy that UFO's did not exist. NACA/NASA resources
could not be spent investigating them. The best that Hill could
manage was to be NASA's informal clearing house for UFO
sightings. He also managed to instigate NASA projects on
hovering platforms that allowed him to study the performance
of UFO-type systems. Hill saw another UFO, this time a classic
'mother ship', in 1962. He used his comprehensive knowledge
of physics and aerodynamics to analyze the flying saucer from
an engineer's point of view. Four years after his retirement from
NASA in 1970, he began a meticulous final engineering
analysis of the UFO. This was only published post-humously in
1995.

radioactivity at UFO landing sites. It is also the precise

energy wavelength that creates the glow which surrounds
UFO's when in operation. This is a result of excitation of air
molecules, and shifts from dull red through orange, yellow,
and then to intense welding-arc white as the
electromagnetic component shifts from soft x-rays up to
the lower portion of the gamma-ray spectrum. The plasma
generated by this wavelength of radiation is cold
consistent with the lack of intense heat reported in UFO
close encounters.
The nature of the UFO field means that saucers have to
manoeuvre in the manner described in the sightings but
quite different from that of lifting, thrust-driven aircraft.
Saucers tilt in the direction of the force to be applied to
accelerate or decelerate. In cruise, the slight saucer tilt is
opposite that of a wing producing lift. This slight tilt is
necessary to overcome both air drag and the negative lift
a saucer creates:

The scientist analyzed every physically possible method of

UFO propulsion and compared them with the observed
performance. This included the behaviour in flight and
hovering, the glow seen around and below the objects, and
the reported physical effects. He went through the entire
electromagnetic spectrum and the all known families of
subatomic particles. Among the non-starters were impulse
power, magnetic fields, electrical fields, neutrino and photon
propulsion. In the end he was able to rule out all possibilities
except one.
The only possibility fitting observations was a form of gravity
field. This UFO field could be focused to provide a repelling
force counter to the earth's gravity. A field with the same
characteristics would neatly move molecules of air out of the
way well before they encountered a moving UFO. It would
protect any occupants from G forces, but would even leave
a residual fraction of the G-forces to give them a 'feel' for
their craft's manoeuvres. Hill postulated a subatomic particle,
the uon, as the quantum expression of the UFO field. This
might or might not be the poorly understood graviton and antigraviton postulated by physicists.
Hill compared his analysis to that of the atom envisioned by
Ernest Rutherford in 1911. Rutherford, using Newtonian
physics, was able to describe an atom consisting of protons
and neutrons in a nucleus with electrons spinning in orbits
around it. Later 20th Century Einsteinian and quantum
mechanics would show Rutherford's model to be simplistic
and the atomic reality to be much more complex. But the point
was that Rutherford could make a correct first approximation
of the atomic structure using the physics he knew. Similarly,
Hill believed he could mathematically describe the UFO field
without necessarily knowing the future physics that would
provide the complete understanding (and allow earthlings to
construct such a device). Hill's analysis completely described
the commonly-described characteristics of the UFO:
UFO's can only be propelled by an engine that produces a
static field that repels all mass. This field follows the
inverse-square law of gravity or photon fields, and is
focused to provide propulsive force. Hill showed that
using this field the amount of energy to move a UFO to any
particular position above a gravitational source (such as
the earth) is only equal to energy required to lift it to that
height - a very small value.
This field has an electromagnetic component or
expression in the range between x-rays and gamma rays.
This explains the radiation effects described in many
cases on those who get to close to hovering UFO's, while
at the same time is consistent with the lack of residual

Hill experimented with circular flying platforms for NASA in

the 1960's. These used air to provide hovering thrust rather
than a UFO field. However they proved the optimum control
manoeuvres near the earth were the same as reported for
UFO's - the wobbling motion to transition to a hover, the
falling-leaf motion to descend, the terrain-following over
obstacles, and the direct vertical ascent to depart.
Suddenly UFO reports that seemed odd or indicated that
UFO's had control difficulties were completely explicable. The
Office of Naval Research developed an operational version.
Hill showed that the UFO's he and others had observed and
could easily accelerate or decelerate at over 100 G's. This
meant that reported 'instantaneous' changes of direction
and 90 degree turns by flying saucers were no such thing.
It was quite possible for a UFO to brake to a complete stop,
and then accelerate again to the same speed in any
direction, in under one second. This would appear as an
'instantaneous' manoeuvre to the human eye but in fact
violate no laws of physics or inertia.
Hill studied in detail the necessary arrangement of field
generators within spherical and elliptical objects necessary to
produce the necessary propulsive force, as well as make the
G-forces imperceptible to the occupants and exert the
necessary force to move air away from the moving saucer.
Aerodynamics was Hill's specialty and he provided the
mathematics that showed why saucers produce no sonic
boom, and can move within the atmosphere at thousands of
miles per hour with little friction and no perceptible noise. In
fact, he showed the induced pressure drop of the UFO field
would cool rather than heat the saucer while moving within
the atmosphere at tremendous speed. This explained why
saucers, unlike the space shuttle or high-speed aircraft,
were not red hot when landing after high speed runs.
Investigating long-range manoeuvres using the UFO field near
a planet, Hill determined the optimum trajectory was highspeed and followed a ballistic path. This was consistent with
reports that UFO's would depart near-vertically at tremendous
acceleration and speed at the end of a sighting.

The UFO static field would be cyclic in nature, and this

would produce a mathematically definable movement of
air molecules when a UFO was hovering. Hill determined
that this cyclic air movement, and its vibration effects on
objects near a UFO, was the source of the sound heard
when UFO's were hovering The UFO 'hum' was not the
sounds of machinery within the UFO but rather the effect
of the field on the environment.
Finally, Hill studied interstellar travel by UFO's. This would
involve a close approach to a massive nearby gravitational
object (e.g. the sun of a solar system) to obtain maximum
utilization of the UFO gravity drive. He calculated that
assuming an approach within 23 million miles of the Earth's
sun, and using an initial acceleration of 1000 G's, a UFO could
reach 70% of the velocity of light by the time it reached the
orbit of Pluto. By that time the gravity-repulsive UFO drive
would be nearly ineffective. Further acceleration to near-light
speed using impulse power would however be relatively easy
with advanced technology. Thanks to relativistic effects, the
occupants would experience only a few months of travel time
when travelling between solar systems.
Of course, decades of time would have passed on earth and
their home planet during the travel period. Hill imagined that

the large cylindrical 'mother ships' might be the actual home of

the extraterrestrials. A little reflection shows that such a ship
would be the focus of their lives and the location of their
friends and families, if such existed in their culture. So it would
be irrelevant in their way of existence if everyone they had
known back at the home planet, if they had one, had aged and
died while they were away. A human equivalent would be
when earthlings move permanently in space rather than time
from one state or country to another. Those left behind are a
closed chapter of a life once known. For star-hopping
extraterrestrials, 'you can never go back' would have a tougher
physical reality than for humans.
Hill produced a complete explanation of the UFO
phenomenon using known physics. There was no need for
recourse to other dimensions, faster-than-light-travel, or
mystical explanations. The diversity of UFO types and
occupants reported convinced the engineer that they
represented visitors from a large number of worlds. He
assessed their behaviour as being that of scientists on study
missions, taking environmental samples, even abducting
humans and animals for tests, but avoiding contact and
interaction with humans.

What is the Tilting Secret of the UFO's?

After noticing over the years how most photographs of disctype UFO's are captured on film looking angled or tilted
(think back to the Rex Heflin pictures, George Adamski's
and now, even Bob Schindler's). Well, today, for the very first
time something clicked in my mind and I dug out my old
angle square and dusted it off, and began measuring the
exact degree of tilt about this latest Racton object which
investigator Bob Schindler both witnessed and recorded
with his camera.
I make it a tilt of 105 degrees.Next, I began checking the
degree of tilt on other unidentifieds in UFO pictures and was
astonished by their similarity. Now isn't that intriguing?
Especially around the 90 degree angle. Bob's most recent
object is only 15 degrees off that figure of "90 degrees
rotation" There are many other images he and fellow UFO
hunters have photographed which are even closer to the
said 90 degrees, with many an exact match.
What could it be? Are they cutting the Earths energy field at
a specific angle? Are they attempting to create a 90 degree
perpendicular spin away from the Earths field to leave
normal space and enter some other state?
Commentary by FSR: How many times does a simple
observation lead to asking a perilously big question on our
understanding of UFOs behaviour? Ken is right: there must
be a correlation for this peculiar tilting secret of flying discs,
in addition: why do most cylinder UFOs travel at a 45 degree
tilt? H.E. Puthoff of the Institute for Advanced Studies at
Austin put forward the following ideas on this matter using
the work of Paul R Hill in a paper called A Synopsis of
Unconventional Flying Objects. (JSE Review).

One of the most consistently-observed characteristics of UFO

flight is a ubiquitous pattern in which they tilt to perform all

manoeuvres. Specifically, they sit level to hover, tilt forward to
move forward, tilt backward to stop, bank to turn, and descend
by "falling-leaf" or "silver- dollar-wobble" motions. Detailed
analysis by Hill shows that such motion is inconsistent with
aerodynamic requirements, but totally consistent with some
form of repulsive force-field propulsion. Not satisfied with
paper analyses alone, Hill arranged to have various forms of
jet-supported and rotor-supported circular flying platforms
built and tested. Hill himself acted as test pilot in early,
originally-classified, versions, and found the above motions
the most economical for control purposes.
In an effort to examine the force-field propulsion hypothesis
yet further, Hill analyzed a number of cases involving near-field
interactions with an apparent craft in which some form of force
was in evidence. These include examples in which a person or
vehicle was affected, tree branches were parted or broken,
roof tiles were dislodged, objects were deflected, and ground
or water were disturbed. Under close analysis the subtleties of
these interactions combine to point unequivocally to a
repulsive force field surrounding the craft, while discriminating
against propulsion mechanisms involving jet action, pure
electric or magnetic effects, or the emission of energetic
particles or radiation (although the latter may accompany the
propulsive mechanism as a secondary effect). Further detailed
investigation indicates that the particular form of force field
propulsion that satisfies observational constraints is what Hill
labels a directed acceleration field; that is, a field that is, in
general, gravitational-like in nature, and, in particular, gravitycancelling. Such a field acts on all masses in its sphere of
influence as does a gravitational field. Corollary to this
conclusion is that observed accelerations ~100 g's relative to
the environment could be sustained without on-board high-g
forces.
One of the consequences of the above identification of field
propulsion type by Hill is his conclusion, supported by detailed

calculation, computer simulation and wind-tunnel studies, that

supersonic flight through the atmosphere without sonic
booms is easily engineered. Manipulation of the accelerationtype force field would, even at supersonic speeds, result in a
constant-pressure, compression-free zone without shockwave
in which the vehicle is surrounded by a subsonic flow-pattern
of streamlines, and subsonic velocity ratios. An additional
benefit of such field control is that drops of moisture, rain,
dust, insects, or other low-velocity objects would follow
streamline paths around the craft rather than impact it.
Another puzzle resolved by Hill's analysis is that craft observed
to travel continuously at Mach 4 or 5 do not appear to generate
temperatures sufficiently high to be destructive to known
materials. In other words, UFOs appear to prevent high
aerodynamic heating rates, rather than permitting a heating
problem, then surviving it with heat- resistant materials as is
the case of the Shuttle whose surface temperatures can reach
1300 degrees C. The resolution of this potential problem is
shown by Hill to derive from the fact that the force-field control
that results in the prevention of shockwave drag as discussed
above is also effective in preventing aerodynamic heating. In
effect the airflow approaches, then springs away from the craft,
depositing no energy in the process.
A further example of the type of correlation that emerges from
Hill's analytical approach is provided by an analysis of the
economy of various flight-path profiles. It is shown that highangle, high-acceleration departures on ballistic-arc
trajectories with high-speed coast segments are more
efficient than, for example, intermediate-level, horizontalpath trips, both in terms of required impulse-per-unit-mass
and time-of-flight parameters. This he correlates with the
observation that UFO departures are of the dramatically
high-angle, high-acceleration type.
FSR Comment: (It appears that they tilt to flight enable a
maximum velocity jump off position).

Who are the Shadow people?

Considering the questions raised by the enormous figures captured by crop circle researcher Winston Keech it is timely
that we discuss a term often used by ufologists shadow people. The theme of this issue is that we should at least
countenance the possibility of the tall humanoid races existence in order to seriously study them. Who are they, what
are they, are they alien or ghostly apparitions or indeed are they ultra-dimensional? It would be prudent to give some
descriptions of these often giant beings so we can familiarise our selves with their nature. In this section of FSR we will
look at some modern accounts of the shadow people and then return to the beginning of the friendship case from 1950s
Italy, the most accurate accounts of flesh and blood 3 metre giants who may be the shadow people or somehow related
to them. We will start with the experiences of Russell Kellett, who has been extremely open about his encounters with
these giant figures.

board floor. I seemed to be standing in the middle of the floor
there was a pole at each side of me with a sphere on the top.
I was in the middle of the two poles with my arms stretched out
touching both spheres.
After this traumatic recollection I decided I was going to sell
my motorbike. I did so shortly after, but with regret. I have

recently sat down to make sense of these intermittent

encounters with the shadow people.
I have had a number of flash backs from earlier times and
realized the shadow people had been around me for some
years before I became aware of them. It was 1988; I liked to
call around to my friends house after I had finished work to
make plans for later after tea. If we were not working on our
motor bikes we would go out and meet up with other friends
from different bike clubs, but during the week we would stay
locally. It was while doing this that I had a strange encounter at
the level crossing on the outskirts of Keighley West Yorkshire.

extremely cramped. I have been asked on a

number of occasions what they looked like.
The outline was that of a human male the
inside resembled the effect of looking into
a pool of water. If the pool was Black it
would reflect Blackness and shimmer like a
black mirror. Their shape was three
dimensional yet they rippled internally as if
the movement was in fluid; you could call
them mirror men or shadow men. They told
me about a coming time when the world
will be ravaged by natural catastrophe and
warfare. They were sinister in their
intimation that they would conduct their
agenda through people they controlled.
This left me uneasy.

Again shadow people stood all around me while I was sat

stationary on my motor bike, at a railway crossing. I was
immersed in bright light surrounding me, a light that burned
my face, neck and hands after my encounter. I also ended up
with continuous flu like symptoms.
On another occasion the same year, we were coming back
from a ride out one night, when I had a strange feeling come
over me, I carried on with the journey home but I felt sick and
very uneasy. Eventually I pulled up at my friend Ts house and
said, See you tomorrow T there was no reply from him. T just
went through the gate and in the back door. I thought it was
down to him been tired so no further conversation took place
and he didnt even say goodbye to me.
The next day I called around after I had my tea, T was in the
garage sat in his deck chair with a cup of coffee. I asked if he
was ok. Yes! Why? T replied.
You dont look well T I said,
T replied you dont look good either!

In 1999 myself and T were coming back from

a day out as it was a bank holiday. We had
been in Settle North Yorkshire and it was
getting late so we headed back home, I had
just got to a place called Cross hills when I
reached the level crossing I had another flash
back, This was the place where I sat waiting for the train to go
past when I was hit by the beam of light.
I was surrounded bay a group of very tall people; they all
were dressed in Black even their heads seemed to be
hidden with Black balaclavas. They resembled the shadow
people but they were wearing helmets, most wore long coats
with exception of one or two who wore body armour. Then I
came back to reality and carried on my journey home. I
dropped T off at and headed home myself. I had just pulled up
out side my house to open my gate when my friend shouted
my name, it was my neighbour Fred. He told me that he had
called across about 45 minutes before when he first saw me
ride through the gate way in to my garden, but when he
walked around the back to my garage I was nowhere to be
found. The problem was there was only one way in and one
way out and I had not passed Fred. In reality I had not been
back at all, so Fred said it must have been my doppelganger,
a human duplicate that I knew coincided with my flashback.

kind of room with very low light, with what seemed to be
people lurking in the shadows. I could see a group of very
tall people, they all seemed to be dressed as black skin
divers, shadow people but I could see more this time there
was one wearing what looked like breathing apparatus and
rubber suits like skin divers or frogmen.
The shadow figures walked through my bedroom wall and
communicated properly with me back in 1990. They were as
close as you could get, as my bedroom was just big enough
for my double bed and my chest of drawers. So when the
shadow people came into my room it should have been

the crop circles this year and many retrospective cases like
W56 where tall humanoids have been seen.

saw then were identical to the
flying men which have been captured on film in Mexico in
recent years. Are all these black figures in fact manifestations
of the same living creatures? When we think of alien
humanoids we think of them as being made of solid sensible
matter. They can take up space, have mass and hence make
footprints, make noise and can touch witnesses and objects
while fully interacting with their environment.
A shadow person is an entity that absorbs light from the visible
spectrum and hence appears completely black. A shadow
person often appears in silhouetted refined form as a soft
apparition, as something one can put ones hand right through.
In essence a shadow person could hypothetically contain a
solid humanoid form completely out of phase with the
wavelength of the surrounding matter. In this way one is
invisibly concealed and hence completely invulnerable.
If a shadow person exists in a state of partial de-materialisation,
then any living entity including our selves (with the right
technology) can become a shadow person and remain in this
black apparitional state. This may already happen during
abduction when one is floated through solid walls or windows.
Another form of apparitional being which is somewhat similar
dispenses completely with concealment and is entirely
luminous. This is known as a light being. Both these types of
humanoid have been encountered in crop circles; all can
disappear instantly before ones eyes and are readily equipped
to defy gravity.
When FSRs previous editor Gordon Creighton examined
ancient Arabic ideas on the Jinn, a legendary non-corporeal
race of humanoids known in the Middle East, he found a
translation that described them as being made of smokeless
fire. He could find no more information or explanation of the
term, which, he considered a vital clue to their essentially
etheric substance. However, if one looks closely at a shadow
man, his substance resembles a circulation of liquid smoke
that forms around a membrane like exterior. The space he
occupies feels like a swirling liquid that is ice cold. This
appearance has a surface tension which holds the substance
and boundaries of this non-physical body together. Shadow
people are capable of changing the exterior of their form, into
more familiar comforting shapes or into alarming creations.
One unpublished case from the late 1970s, described a two

The shadow man appeared on another occasion as a
spaceman looking through another child in the groups lounge
window.
A common shadow figure appearance is as a tall space suited
man wearing body armour. One shadow person reportedly
temporarily took the shape of the mythic figure Pan during a
bedroom visit. Whatever a shadow person is, witnesses
describe a sentient self aware creature with acute senses. They
can use mental telepathy to communicate ideas; they can
readily manipulate the witnesss own mind by using their
ruthless intellect, yet they are also capable of yielding
emotional understanding. Shadow people are preoccupied by
humanity, bound up into observing and interacting though often
interfering and venturing into perilous new arenas within
ordinary witnesses lives. How can we observe our observers?
The question has been answered by surveillance footage, in
the far red spectrum.

A special note on a recent childrens case

involving contact with the shadow people.
In recent months it has become apparent that two little girls
had been having early morning visits from three shadow
people, two males and one female. It started when the girls
blurted out that they had been having night-time visitors from
fairies, for up to a year, usually in the early hours before dawn.
Due to the delicacy of the age of those involved, the parents
only listened when the girls volunteered information and did
not encourage any further discussion or analysis of the matter
so as to not to prejudice or cause psychological imbalance on
their daily life. It is not clear what the three shadow people
were up to, other than to engineer familiarisation within the
context of this case. No apparent ill effect has been noticed.
The figures would come into their room at 5am, they were
described as tall dark human shaped people who wore
sunhats which under more detailed description were better
described as face visors. They behaved as apparitions and
passed about the room where the children were unimpeded
and without sound. The children often stood upon their beds
and would tease and laugh at their strange visitors. The
children described the male leader as a being called
Lencando the female was known as Penny. It was not clear
whether any meaningful communication took place, but a
common trick for the girls to run to the wall lamp to pretend to
switch it on, in order to make Lencando leave the room.

Mass Contacts.
A new book On the Friendship case and giant humanoids by Italian ufologist Stefano Breccia.
The name mass contacts
follows the story of the W56 a
giant race of humanoids that
allegedly arrived in Italy in
1956. There were up to 200
people involved over a many
decades long interaction
which crossed national
boundaries. The principle
character
is
Bruno
Sammaciccia, one of a
number of Italian contactees
in the 1950s who mirrored
the
age
of
Adamski.
Sammaciccia (below) now
deceased gives the entire
story to Stefano Breccia.
The figure on the book cover What is abundantly clear is
that this Italian friendship
case is much further reaching, with multiple contacts and a far
greater encounter time than any other case we know of.
The book comes in two sections, a large forward section on
the UMMO case in Europe and then the story of Friendship
and the W56. Throughout there are ideas of how a discrete
alien influence could have sculpted the great minds of our
history, conversations with W56s and physical and technical
exchanges of dialogue. There is a mass of material to ponder
over.
When reading Mass Contacts, published in English for the first
time in 2009, one is relieved to find everyday people using
everyday language to describe fantastic events in Italy in the
late 1950s. The case centres on a small team of Italians who
choose to experience friendship with aliens.
It describes the everyday
practicalities of waiting at
rendezvous
points,
feeling disorientated and
shocked
at
the
appearance of alien
humanoids, the tension
within ones family and
fearful incomprehension
by
failed
potential
collaborators. There are
also many opportunities
to
contemplate
the
mysterious personality
and objectives of the W56
alongside their secretive
actions which go on in
front of the witnesses yet remain largely unexplained. They are
diverse as a race, some giants of 3 metres others of more
standard height. They occupy underground bases and mainly
venture out at night incognito. They use very basic methods to
conceal their great height, remaining in cars with the seat
ripped out, or remaining sitting when caught in the open so
they appear normal to distant perspective. What is very
authentic is the indifference shown by many of these beings
not themselves directly involved with the witnesss project of
logistically supporting the bases.
What is bizarre is the need for human collaborators at all, as
the W56 seem entirely able to act independently. They pay the
friends to buy materials which are then transported to specific

spots where they are teleported out of the vehicles. Much of

this material is food. A possible reason would be an ethical
concern that they do not plunder the resources of our
civilisation but rather pay for them. The shadow side of this
case are genetically modified cousins of the W56, the CTRs
or Weiros who are biological robots. The word itself is based
on the Italian for opposite. The defence philosophy of the W56
was that the CTRs only ever influenced people if they denied
their human nature and took on the darker characteristics of
the fascist CTR.
We are introduced to the bonds of friendship in the humour
and quirkiness of alien individuals, Dimpietro, Gallarate, Sinas,
Sigir, Saju, Meredir and Romolo all of whom speak Italian.
They are humorous characters, a people who smoked cigars,
drank coffee and even ate frittata omelettes, apparently
experimenting with the trappings of human culture. A photo of
a solitary W56 is included in the book and is shown here, the
original is allegedly kept in a vault. In an interview overleaf it is
estimated that he is 3 metres tall.

apparently endangers the security of all concerned as a
maligned influence becomes more apparent eventually
leading to the dissolution of the original will for contact. In a
sense the CTRs have used subtle mind control to distract the
participants by constantly re-editing their minds perceptions.
The group collapses and the W56 fall victim to the CTR
conflict. The last remnant of their number evacuates in 1978 in
what seems almost a mystical reference to a lost Arthurian
camaraderie or covenant.
This book, Mass Contacts, leads us to contemplate what an
alien civilisation would do if it was encamped here in secret.
Very few books address the alien issue by descriptive means;
most books prefer to talk about people who talk about aliens,
or even worse talking about talking. The simple direct
encounter is ufology. People will vote with their feet for the
contact and observation stories; when they desire to know the
truth of the entities themselves.

FSR: Which countries were host to the friendship case?
You hint that there were some members of the team behind
the Iron curtain.
Stefano: I am aware of activities in Italy, France,
Switzerland, Germany, Siberia, Argentina and Chile; of
course, I cannot exclude other countries;
FSR: How many of these groups were aware of each
other? Were any of the Friendship members imprisoned or
interrogated by the authorities?
Stefano: aside Italians, I was in direct touch with some
Germans, Swiss and one Siberian; as far as I know, no one
has been subjected to interrogations by any authority;
FSR: Do you think the friendship case is ongoing to this
day?

Stefano: I believe that the Adamski case has been true, in

general; I do not know whether there is any correlation.
FSR: You suggest that deception of the witnesses by the
aliens may have been a significant component of the
interaction story of this case; do you think the scenario of a
conflict could have been concocted? Were they caught out
at all by any of the witnesses?
Stefano: I had the sensation that things were not as plain
as we were being told; of course, in cases like those, you
have no means to ascertain the truth of what you are being
told;
FSR: I would like to hear more about their use of mercury
in their technology.
Stefano: sorry, I cannot answer this question.

Stefano: many hints suggest that it is still going on;

FSR: Did you hear anything about polar UFO bases?

FSR: Were any heads of state or clergy directly involved in

the case?

Stefano: no.

Stefano: it does look so, although, of course, I cannot

exhibit any names;
FSR: The photograph of a W56 in the back of your book,
can you tell us about its origin? How tall was he? Are there
any more pictures out there?
Stefano: the picture has been shot in the garden of
Sammaccias large villa in Montesilvano, near Pescara; the
actual picture is owned by a Swiss lady, who keeps it in a
safety vault in a bank! A recent study by an Italian scholar
has determined a height of 3.0 meters. You may find it by

FSR: Did any W56 breed with human beings, or form
relationships?
Stefano: yes.
FSR: Do you think the UMMO case is related to the W56?
Stefano: probably so, especially the ones Ive named
Italian Ummites;
FSR: Where do you think the CTRs are active?
Stefano: generally speaking in the Rome area.
FSR: Have you been contacted by either group in any way,
including via telepathy?
Stefano: yes, but never via telepathy: telephone calls,
wireless communications, or, trivially, personal encounters.

FSR: Were the CTFs similar to Nazis, did they have any
links with other despots in our history?
Stefano: I have no conclusive proof about that, but always
wandered about the (fake) UFO pictures that were
circulating in Nazi Germany, and how Hitler could have
been sure to be able to win the war; even more how
Mussolini could believe that, knowing how weak Italian
Forces were;
FSR: Does this story link with the crashed disc Mussolini
retrieved in 1933?
Stefano: I do not think so.
FSR: Have you seen any artefacts from the W56 case?
Stefano: yes.
FSR: The bases you mention in the book, can you recap
where they were?
Stefano: the largest one in Central Eastern Italy; many
smaller ones, for instance in Milan, under the Como lake, in
Bologna, in Rome, in Pescara, in Pineto, and so on;
FSR: Have you had any unofficial confirmation from your
countries authorities that they knew of these events?
Stefano: Yes.
FSR: What do you think the common purpose of the W56
was on our planet?
Stefano: Probably maieutics; of course things were not as
simple as we have been shown: for instance, why should
they have needed our help in order to supply food, metals,
and the like? What could have been the use of weapons
like the Hydrae, terrifying by sure, but rather useless on a
wide scale? And so on.
(Maieutics is based on the ancient Greek idea that the truth
is latent in the mind of every human being due to his innate
reason but has to be "given birth" by answering questions
(or problems) intelligently proposed. The word is derived
from the Greek "," pertaining to midwifery).

FSR: Where do you think this case fits with Adamski?

If we put the friendship case of 1956 in context, it occurred the

year after President Eisenhowers Holloman encounter and the
story of the two catholic bishops who were said to have carried
the alien message back to Rome. It was two years after the
European wide UFO wave of 1954, when massed saucer
formations passed over the Vatican and other European
capitals. It also occurred the year after the Broadlands
encounter, the story of the alien meeting with handyman
Briggs at the home of Lord Mountbatten, as well as Royal
equerry Peter Horsleys London encounter with his alien Mr
Janus. In a sense there was a case for expectation in the air at
a high level that the aliens were coming.

Now after reading the friendship case, our chronology of the

saucer age brings us up to the late 1950s. The W56, whoever
they were, set up base in a chaotic country, Italy, then a
ramshackle post-war economy beset by unrest, emigration
and slow economic development. This was a Europe bitterly
divided by East and West, regularly teetering on the brink of
nuclear war. Old imperial colonial powers fought costly wars of
independence as communist revolution and nationalism

What I believe the UFO phenomenon consists of, is what I call

the conjuror theory. Think of being in a theatre, assisting at
the show of a clever conjuror: he will be able to exhibit
unbelievable things. You are aware that there must be a well
hidden intelligent trick behind it all, but our performer is really
clever, so that no tricks may be perceived. Were you able to
enter the stage, you might find that things are not like they
were seen from the stalls, but unfortunately, you are not

Steffano Breccia has taken the correct approach in telling the

story in a matter of fact way, within a credible sphere of
meaning. Any information we have on alien civilisations is
minimal so to create a definitive text is an achievement for any
contact investigator. He has steered clear of being clever or
worse non-committal, having no opinion, instead validating the
witnesss language and impressions to construct meaning
throughout this incredible material. Breccia has included a
very important piece that shows his deep understanding of
illusions brought about by alien interaction:

allowed to: you are allowed only to see just what your conjuror
wants you to see.
In my opinion, the UFO phenomenon is just like that:
somebody (something) takes the trouble to put up an
incredible show. I repeat one directly orientated to the one who
has been selected to witness it. I do not hesitate to think that
even the so-called aliens have been created to this purpose;
therefore we find Ramu and friends who talk with Adamski on

subjects our Polish mystic is ready to accept. Aura Rhanes that

tells a Caterpillar worker (Truman Bethurum who obviously
could not understand anything on the subject) of Clarion
orbiting behind our moon, therefore not visible to us and so
on. All that, of course, filled with flying saucers and various
aliens, to give support to the tales. Of course I put also myself,
Bruno and my other Earth friends, inside this stall.

A Rhodesian abduction case from 1974 with

resonance to the theme of the CTRs?
FSR 21.2 (1975) featured an abduction encounter from
Rhodesia investigated by Carl Van Vlierden; it involved a man,
Peter, and his wife Frances travelling by car from Salisbury to
Durban in South Africa on the night of May 30th 1974. The car
was overtaken by lights on a lonely Rhodesian highway and

must have teleported or been carried as on reaching his

destination Peter found his meter only registered 17km of his
288 km journey. An investigation took place under hypnosis by
Dr Paul Obertik a Czechoslovakian medical doctor, under
trance Peter revealed the following extracts:

everything by introducing their way of doing things.

Dr O: Tell me Peter, are there any of them among us

unnoticed?

Dr O: Have they got any steady form in which they are

normally? Any form where they appear among themselves?

Peter: Thousands.

Peter: The ones that were in the car and the spaceship were
all that I could see. Identical in size, colour, looks, shape and
weight.

Dr O: Thousands?

Dr O: How do they look?

Dr O: Peter, if you wanted to make contact, and want

knowledge from them, will they give it to us? Do they make
contact if you want?

Peter: Same basic form as humans with large trunks, necks,

hairless, two arms two legs.
Dr O: Same organs as we have? Male or female?
Peter: No form of reproductive organs at all.
Dr O: How do they multiply?
Peter: I dont know.
Dr O: How far can they travel Peter? How fast?
Peter: They travel by time, not by light.
Dr O: They travel by time? What do you mean exactly by that?

Peter: They are clerks, typists, businessmen, university

students, lecturers, dustbin cleaners.

Peter: They make contact only when they want to, and by
influencing others. They never do anything direct, on Earth
they would make them a figure head, set them up as a centre
of attraction. Theyre only influencers, the schemers, and
directors of a person who would do it and be given the (?)
thing, which is praise. Humans survive on praise and they give
this to our (?).

Peter: They can travel on time, speed of light is too slow to

cover billions of miles in seconds. If they want to go from point
A to point B they have to come back in time to get to the Earth,

journalist expert on aviation,
has been in charge of a
popular TV series on aeromodelling; the Italian TV
broadcast (the RAI) charged
him to make an inquiry on
the UFO phenomenon, but it
was never transmitted. In
1963 the Italian newspaper
Il Tempo published some
100 full-page articles by
Ghibaudi, one a day, on
UFOs. He has written many
more articles on other
newspapers and magazines

this subject. He also took pictures and even movies of flying
saucers. He has been the president of the Italian branch of
WWF. Now he lives in Rome, has become a shy and reserved
person, who tries to avoid any contact with enthusiasts and
curious, to the point of having recently refused to be
interviewed by an Italian and a Mexican producers who are
making documentaries on Amicizia. In the following picture,
Bruno is the man sitting.
A second book on Amicizia is going to be printed in Italy in
these very days,
Noi e loro (We and they) by Prof. Paolo Di Girolamo, and a
third one will appear by the end of the year, written by a
professor from the University of Padova, who will use a
nickname, because he wants to remain anonymous. As far as
I know, Amicizia has never stopped, and contacts with the
W56s are still going on; in the last years news emerged about
something similar in Chile.

An important letter taken from the FSR archive April 1968.

Has a flying saucer ever been observed in the midst of falling

rain? If so have any mechanical, thermal or optical effects ever
been noticed? Examples might be mechanical deflection of
the rainfall in the vicinity of the object or noise. Thermal effects
like steam or hissing or optical effects like a rainbow pattern.

FSR Comment: This very old letter asks a very important
question: if a saucer is a real time physical object, it should
hypothetically deflect rain and also the field produced by the
craft could have a noticeable effect on its distribution. In
August 2007 on the Portsmouth side slip road of junction 2 of
the A3M, I observed a craft hovering within a very heavy rain
storm. It did not appear to have any rain run off coming from it,
it was as if the rain was passing straight through it. The severity
of the rain was noticeable and matched a case from Carl
Feindt's important water ufology website http://waterufo.net.
This was a case where a craft may have induced rainfall in front
of 4 youths on 19/04/66 in Corsica, Pennsylvania, USA
"While the light hovered in the sky, the boys said, there was a
sudden, brief downpour of rain; the rainfall began
instantaneously, with no preliminary sprinkle, and ended just as
suddenly."
However, when we look at Flying Saucer induced rain patterns

we may be dealing with local changes in air pressure and

hence the condensing of water dropets caused by the vortex
field. Alternatively a static onion skin layered effect of different
air compression pressures could be positioned around the
craft. In the case of the Italian Nespolo photo series featured in
FSR Vol 51/1, this onion layering effect was rendered visible by
waterdroplets into a rainbow.
The August 2007 sighting, apart from hypothetically causing
the appearance of very heavy sudden rain, appeared to have
no water run off. In ufology, when we think of where a flying
saucer is, we should also consider when it is, that is: where in
time. The craft as I observed it appeared to be over a shrubby
hedgerow next to the slip road with an open field area behind.
On a return visit this field it was now apparently a twenty year
old tree plantation, dense woodland. Perhaps the object
bilocated so by coincidence the rain wasn't falling on it at the
time phase where it positioned itself. This time question in
ufology may explain why other UFO observations do not tally
well, even with correct daylight and time correlation. Perhaps,
this also means matching daylight shadows to background in
photographic analysis is a flawed approach to validate
authenticity. In a sense we are observing an object with an
unknown time axis caused by extraordinary gravitation. This
also causes alteration of the spectrum around the saucer.
