Have van, will travel!

At least that is what members
of Miami Lakes Boy Scout Troop
49 used to say. However, their 14year old van which has served
them well on monthly outings to
campsites north, south and in
between. is now in ill-repair and
needs to be replaced.
As part of a fundraising effort
to purchase a new van, Scout
Master Bob Swanson and his parent volunteers, along with all 20
members of Troop 49 will hold an
auction at 8 p.m. on Friday, May
7, during the re-opening of Main
Street Live entertainment.

opportunities that are afforded the
boys through various programs
throughout the year. The van has

scouts to an event. It really takes

get local businesses and residents
to support the auction either
through donations or bidding on
the donated items.

the community to donate items,
services and gift certificates to
support the

include: airline tickets, a cruise
package, dinners for two, hotel
