ANSWER THESE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS

Q1: EXPLAIN DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BROADCAST LINK AND POINT

TO POINT LINK?
Ans: Broadcast link It is a method of sending signal/data among clients. In
another words, it refers to transmitting a packet that will be received every
device on the network. In which host send data to another host identifying a
unique IP address. Broadcasting may be high level network operation, i.e. by
passing message interface and broadcasting on Wi-Fi. IT may be perform low
level network operation, i.e. broadcasting on Ethernet. Point to point link is
a connection between two nodes or ending points and no more data is
formatting. The host takes complete responsibility for formatting data
transmitted between them. Typically it is a protocol for communicating
between two computers using several interfaces, like personal computer that
is connected by a phone line to a server.
Q2: WHAT IS THE PACKET IN COMPUTER COMMUNICATION?
Ans: To improve communication performance and reliability, each data that
is sent between two network devices is subdivided into packets by underlying
HW and SW. communication computer do not support packet such as point to
point link .it simply transmit data as a bit stream. But by using packet, the
bandwidth of communication can be better share among user than circuit
switched.
Q3: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ETHERNET AND WI-FI?
Ans: Wi-Fi is a wireless network. It is a valid choice when running a cable
would be difficult.it provides better speed as compare to Ethernet that offer
over a wired connection. Ethernet provides superior network performance
and reliable transport access by connected a wire. It provides more secured
signals with no radio interface and without hacking wireless router. But minor
problem have bad impact on it. It is less efficient than Wi-Fi .because it is a
wired network.
Q4: WHAT ARE EXAMPLES OF PAN, LAN, WAN AND MAN?
Ans: PAN it is a personal network area that are used for communication
between different devices that are located so closed.like, telephones fax
machines Bluetooth. LAN it cover small area like home office building or
school.WAN it cover broad area.like, communication link internet etc.it cross
the metropolitan boundaries. MAN It covers the entire city area.
Q5: WHAT IS PROTOCOL IN NETWORKS?
Ans:
Protocol in network defines rules and conventions for
communication between network devices. There are different types of
network protocol. Ethernet ATM token ring etc.protocol for computer all
generally uses packet switching techniques to send and receive message in
the form of packets. It uses well defined protocol for exchanging
data/message.
Q6: WHAT IS PROS AND CONS OF LAYERING IN PROTOCOL DESIGN?

Ans: PROS 1) it reduces complexity. 2) Standardizes interfaces. 3) facilitate

modular engineering that allow HW and SW to communicate with each other.
4) Allowing quicker development 5) simplify teaching and learning because it
breaks network communication into smaller components to make it easier. 6)
Modularity and manageability. CONS 1) high level layer cant see what lower
layer is. 2) High level layer cant control all aspects of the lower level layer. 3)
It is used to control the complexity of large applications, but adds complexity
to simple applications. 4) It has negative effect on the performance.
