SPEAKER BIOS
Robert Counter, AIA is a senior associate specializing in healthcare and S+T architecture and planning for over 25
years. Bob brings extensive experience in the architectural profession including healthcare planning, facility master
planning, project management, client relations, business operations and management, technical development and
implementation. Perkins+Will clients benefit from his extensive and consistent involvement in the total project
process, his hands-on approach to programming and planning, and his commitment to client service and
professional excellence. Bob provides particular expertise in medical planning and design as well as project
management and project delivery.

Jean Mah, FAIA, FACHA is a principal and healthcare planner in Perkins+Will’s Health Design Group, and has
specialized in healthcare architecture and planning for more than 25 years. Ms. Mah offers a global perspective to
her clients and is recognized for her ability to bring innovation and strategic vision to all types of healthcare projects,
with a focus on health science centers, academic medical centers, and ambulatory centers. Perkins+Will clients
benefit from her extensive and consistent involvement in the total design planning process, her hands-on approach
to programming and planning, her energy and enthusiasm, and her commitment to excellence.

Nick Seierup, FAIA is a Principal and Design Director for the Los Angeles practice of Perkins+Will. He is involved in
every aspect of the office’s strategic and tactical design initiatives. Utilizing professional experience as a licensed
architect and educator for the past 30 years, he has developed a unique design sensibility honed by extensive
international travel and the expressive cross-cultural diversity emergent in the Los Angeles area. Nick is also active in
the professional community, having served as president of the American Institute of Architects/Los Angeles Chapter.
He teaches and juries regularly at local universities and serves on the Board of Directors of the Southern California
Institute of Architecture.
