Activity Overview:

Seven kindergarten classes will divide


into seven research groups. Each
research group will come to the library
to learn about an animal that lives on
the Arctic and Antarctic Tundra. (snowy
owl, harp seal, arctic fox, puffin, polar
bear, walrus, penguin)
A book about each animal will be read
and a list of the characteristics will be
discussed and recorded. Students will
make a visual that will include facts
about their animal and pictures.
Each small research group, upon
returning to class, will share with
classmates the facts about their animal.
The classroom teacher will compare
animals researched, noting how they
are alike and different.
