1. CAMWORKSVIEW: AN INTRODUCTION
CAMWorksView is a new utility which was first introduced with the CAMWorks 2013 SP1
version (under a different name Glovius). This utility gets automatically installed when you
install CAMWorks 2013 SP1 or later versions.

6. The top part of the generated setup sheet displays the general information (Material,
Stock size, Unit, Date, Setup name, Setup origin, etc.).
7. The generated setup sheet displays the list of all operation with details such as Speed,
Feed, Z Feed Rate, Tool Description, etc.
8. If you click on any of the WIP images displayed in the Setup Sheet, the corresponding
3D model view will be invoked.
9. You can zoom/rotate/pan the displayed 3D model to your desired orientation. Once you
shift focus from the 3D model to another location in the Setup sheet (focus shifts when
you left click the mouse in another location), a new snapshot of the WIP model in its
user-defined orientation will be generated.
10. You can thus generate 2D images of all the WIP models in the desired orientation by
following step 8 and step 9.
Note: XML-based Setup Sheets generated can only be viewed in the Internet Explorer
web browser. They cannot be viewed using any other web browsers.

When you install CAMWorks from the DVD, the CAMWorksView desktop application is
automatically installed.
By downloading the CAMWorks Installer:
If you install CAMWorks by downloading the 32-bit or 64-bit installer from the CAMWorks
website, you need to first unzip the downloaded installer and then run the .exe file for installing
CAMWorks.
Installing CAMWorks after unzipping the folder
ensures that CAMWorksView and other
supplementary programs are installed along
with it.
To install only CAMWorksView, open the
folder named CAMWorksView and run the
installer file named
CAMWorksView2014.exe.
Contents of the Downloaded Zip
Folder
The CAMWorks DVD contains installers for CAMWorks and many other programs. One of the
folders in the DVD is CAMWorksView. To install only CAMWorksView, open this folder
named CAMWorksView and run the installer file named CAMWorksView2014.exe.

Note: Only the JT Viewer component of Glovius is free. The advanced functionalities
within Glovius are licensed modules which need to be subscribed for separately.
1. After the toolpaths generated for the part/assembly using CAMWorks has been finalized,
right-click on CAMWorks NC Manager in CAMWorks Operations tree and select the
command Publish CAMWorksView file from the context menu.

7. On executing the Save command, the .JT and .cwview files are generated and saved to the
user-specified folder location. A Windows Explorer window indicating the folder
location of the saved files will be displayed.

Note: This .cwview file contains the same data as the .JT file but in a highly optimized
format which has been specially developed for mobile devices. This is explored in
detail in the next chapter Viewing 3D Models on Mobile Devices.
8. Simultaneously, the CAMWorksView application also launches and displays the part (in
.JT file format) with toolpath and operations in the graphic area. (If CAMWorksView is
not installed on the system, then this will not happen.)
9. Use the CAMWorksView Desktop Viewer to navigate through the WIP models using
ModelViews tab. Use the Attributes tab to the Operation Parameters of the selected WIP
model. Use the various CAMWorksView Menu commands in order to review the part
model.

CAMWorksView Application
After selecting the Publish CAMWorksView File from the CAMWorks NC Manager context
menu, the CAMWorksView with the part is displayed. It enables you to review CAMWorks
toolpath operations data along with the 3D models of stock, Work-in-process (WIP) and the
finished part model and to zoom/pan/rotate JT models. The CAMWorksView is divided into
three sections: Top CAMWorksView menu with corresponding Ribbon Bar, Left hand side pane
and Graphics area.
Components tab display the true structure of the tree of the selected part file. It will display the
Stock, Finish part and Operations related to the part.

When you will insert another part file in the current file by using the Insert button, then added
file will get list under the first file of the Components tab. The added part file will display the
same structure tree as of initial part file.
When you select any assembly part file, Components tab will display the structure tree for the
assembly and its component parts. The structure tree will display the stock, finished part and
operations related to all the component parts.
Quick-search option is available which will help to find the specific operation.
Annotation tab
Annotation tab specify the added work offset coordinate. When the specific offset is added to
the part, then it will display under this tab.
Quick-search option is available which will help to find the specific offset detail.
Attributes tab
Attribute tab displays the operation parameter related to the selected WIP model. When you will
select any operation in the Model View tab, then the operation parameters will display in the
under the Attribute tab.
Quick-search option is available which will help to find the values of specific operation
parameter.
Model Views tab
Model Views tab display the stock, finished part and generated operation toolpath. When you
will click the Play button, the radio button gets enabled and displays the toolpath in the graphic
area.

Animation section

Click the Play button on the Ribbon bar.
3. If you have expanded all the listed items in the left hand side pane of the Model Views
tab, observe the radio buttons next to the listed items. The graphics area first displays the
stock. At the same moment, the radio button for Stock on the left hand side pane will be
selected. Next, the finished part will be displayed in the graphics area. The next radio
button, (the radio button for the finished part) will be selected indicating the model being
displayed. After the finished part, the WIP models and the corresponding toolpath for
each operation listed sequentially in the Operations list of the left hand side will be

displayed. The active radio button in the left hand side pane indicates the WIP model
being displayed. The animation thus displays the stock first, then the finished part
followed by the WIP models in the form of a timed slideshow.
4. If you wish to stop the animation of the WIP models at any point of time during the
progress of the animation, click the
Emailing snapshots
After examine the toolpath and WIP model, you can send the snapshot
of the specific toolpath by using email.
1. Select the toolpath and view orientation.
2. Click the dropdown button on the Email icon of Ribbon bar.
3. Select Email as Image button. The Outlook dialog will be
displayed. Image can be send by email to mail recipient.

Setting tab. The details of the WIPs model, parts and stock are displayed

Adding Markups
1. CAMWorks provides the facility to add the Markups.

Click on the icon and select the Markup from the context menu.
The Markup functionality allows to add the
comments on the WIP model.
