This lesson deals with the differentials which separate the functions
performed by nouns. There are eight such differentials (
Tamil. The first four
) in
in this lesson. In
) is expressed by the
in Tamil nouns. In
such positions the noun is an instrument for the action expressed in the
verb of the same sentence.
The fourth differential
meaning in
or within in English.
The eighth differential is in written form or rising tune in spoken
Tamil. The function is to call the person or object represented in the
noun used.
In this lesson, the first four items are treated with descriptive illustrations.
Nominal, verbal or interrogative words end a sentence. The action in such
sentences is the first differential. The noun used in this context is not at
all inflected. The second differential as the object performs six
functions like creation. destruction. reach. omission. comparison and owning.
The third differential is indicated by the endings
while
and
,
and
are coaxial
as in along.
The fourth differential
refers to acceptance.
The system we design involves building an exhaustive lexicon for noun, verb and other
categories. The performance is directly related to this exhaustiveness. It is a laborious task.

CONCLUSION
At present we started with a list of fifty thousand nouns, around three thousand verbs and a
relatively smaller list of adjectives. Our MAG is capable of analysing and generating more
grammatical categories than ATCHARAM. In the future we are planning to expand our lexicons
for more exhaustiveness. The uniqueness of our MAG is its capacity to generate and analyse
transitive, causative and tense forms apart from the passive constructions, auxiliaries and verbal
nouns. A demo version of AMAG will be soon uploaded for testing.
