1. To assess pre-interventional involution of uterus in experimental and control group among
postnatal mothers.
2. To assess post-interventional involution of uterus in experimental and control group among
postnatal mothers.
3. To compare pre-interventional and post-interventional involution of uterus in experimental
and control group among postnatal mothers.
4. To determine the association of post-interventional involution of uterus in experimental
and control group among postnatal mothers with selected demographic variables.

PROTOCOL FOR DATA COLLECTION
EARLY AMBULATION PROCEDURE GUIDE
I. PREPARATORY PHASE:
1. Develop IPR with patient.
2. Explain the importance of early ambulation after cesarean section.
3. Check vital signs.
4. Keep the foot step near bedside if needed.
5. Keep the extra pillows ready for patient to sit before and after ambulation.
6. Make the floor clean and dry.
7. Check the patient well groomed and adequately clothed.
8. Loosen the urobag and it is kept below hip level.
10. Identify additional person to support the patient while walk.
II. INTERVENTION (ACTION) PHASE:
A. Turning and Sitting
1. Give semi-reclining position to patient for 5 minutes.
2. Assist patient by supporting back and shoulder.
3. Bring patient legs to the edge of the bed.
4. Allow feet to rest on foot stool.
5. Check blood pressure of patient to note features of orthostatic hypotension or for dizziness/
drowsiness and pain.
B. Standing and walking:
6. Instruct the patient to slowly stand on the foot stool.
7. Give support with assistance on either side of the patient.
8. Make the patient climb down from the foot step gradually.
