VANDEX CEMELAST is a cementitious, two-component, polymer-modified-efflorescencefree surface waterproofer with hydrophobic properties, resistant to water and moisture,
made of VANDEX BB 75 as a dry component and VANDEX CEMELAST LIQUID.
Areas of
Application
VANDEX CEMELAST is applied to surfaces such as concrete, masonry and render, which
have to be sealed and protected against the influence of water and moisture. Owing to
its elastic properties it is used in zones posing cracking or deforming problems. VANDEX
CEMELAST is tested for use in drinking water reservoirs.
Properties
Owing to its composition of cement, quartz with well graded aggregate and special
chemical ingredients, as well as the admixture of the polymer component, a waterproof
and elastic coating is achieved (tested up to 1.5 bar). VANDEX CEMELAST is suitable for
areas of potential cracking. The initial and final bonding ability of VANDEX CEMELAST is
excellent, making it suitable to be applied on horizontal as well as vertical surfaces. It is
durable, resistant to frost and heat after setting and at the same time vapour permeable.
VANDEX CEMELAST is an active barrier to carbon dioxide (CO2). VANDEX CEMELAST
is not a decorative material.
Surface
Preparation
The substrate to be treated must be sound and even, open-pored and its surface free from
voids, large cracks or ridges. Bitumen, oil, grease, remains of paint, laitance and
unsound concrete have to be removed by suitable means (e.g. water jetting, sand
blasting). The substrate may be slightly damp, but must not be saturated with water.
Mixing
Application
Curing
Provide suitable protection against extreme weather conditions (e.g. rain, sun, wind,
frost) while setting. The VANDEX CEMELAST coating must be fully cured before getting in
contact with water. Provide a relative humidity of 4060% and good air exchange in
enclosed areas. Avoid formation of water films or condensation on top of coating during
7 days after application.

All data are averages of several tests under laboratory conditions. In practice, climatic variations such as temperature,
humidity, and porosity of substrate may affect these values.
The information contained herein is based on our long-term experience and the best of our knowledge. We can, however, make no guarantee since for a successful outcome, all circumstances in
an individual case must be taken into consideration. Indications of quantities required are only averages which in certain cases might be greater.
