WHEN: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2016 1-6PM

WHERE: SOUTHSIDE SKATEPARK, 510 Iowa St., South Houston, TX 77587

HISTORY: The Texas Skate Jam is the largest and longest running charity event in skateboarding. Since 1997 we have hosted
an annual event to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Gulf Coast. Aiming to continue the Houston tradition of Shut
Up and Skate, the employees at South Shore wanted to create an event to put the local Southwest skateboarding scene
back on the map. We chose the Make-A-Wish Foundation as the beneficiary of the funds raised at this event, because it
directly impacted children in need. The foundation offers hope and light to children suffering with medical conditions that,
at many times, look dark and bleak. The Texas Skate Jam is proud to partner with Make-A-Wish because more than 95% of
the money donated goes directly to very ill childrens wishes!
In 2008, 2009, and 2010 the Texas Skate Jam raised $100,000 and as the economy softened our 2012 total was $85,000
which by far exceeded the $5,300 raised during the events first year in 1997. Throughout the events 19 year history, through
sponsorships, direct donations and onsite event and ticket sales, the skateboarding industry has raised and donated more
than $894,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Gulf Coast. Through the Texas Skate Jam at Southside Skatepark, the
skateboarding industry has made wishes come true for more than 160 children with life-threatening illnesses.
THE VISION: The Texas Skate Jam offers a one of a kind indoor skate experince where fans tickets basically act as an
all access-backstage pass. Due to Southside Skateparks intimate setting family and friends can actually hang out
with the Pros in the park and stand right next to the action. Each year nearly 1,000 attendees get to kick it with over 200
industry professionals including over 50 of todays top pros, the hottest up and coming amateurs, and skateboard legends.
Additional attractions include meet and greet/autograph signings, free giveaways at the gate, affordable food and
refreshments, one day only pop up shops from your favorite brands, and of course the best skateboarding in the world!
Past Texas Skate Jam events have showcased the skating of such greats as; Chris Cole, Nyjah Huston, Dennis Busenitz,
Raney Beres, Cody McEntire, Karl Watson, Jake Donnelly, Mikey Taylor, Ryan Gallant, Franky Heck, Nate LaCoste, Evan
Smith, Peter Ramondetta, Justin Brock, Wes Kremer, Kyle Walker, Chima Ferguson, Madars Apse, Matt Miller, Tom Schaar,
Rob Dyrdek, Danny Way, Steve Berra and more!

THE GOAL:
The Texas Skate Jam event has not only helped the Make-A-Wish children in the
Houston area, but in other regions as well. The local Make-A-Wish chapter is a
major donor to chapters across the country when there are shortfalls in fundraising.
This chapter also attends to the needs of one of the largest medical centers in
the world, meaning even more children and more wishes! As we approach the
20th year anniversary of the Texas Skate Jam we are aiming to make each event
bigger and better, and ultimately surpass our goal of raising $1,000,000 for the
Make-A-Wish Foundation. We realize reaching our goal will not be possible without
your support. Our team has worked very hard this year to offer an array of options
for any brands marketing plan or budget no matter how big or small.
