Selgandr and the Holy Quran…a striking

witness
Many of the Christian and Jewish missionaries quote some
verses from the Holy Quran to prove that-as they claim- the
Holy Quran is not God's word

, the verses that they quoted are those that talk about Abraham,
Moses and Jesus as being Muslims, they think that this is wrong
because Moses was sent to the Jews, so he must be a Jew and
Jesus was sent to the Christians, so he must be a Christian.

Mark Selgandr, one of the well-reputed congress members-

issued a book which is very influential and weighty to shed
some light on this point, he chose the title" fatal
misunderstanding" for his book.

This book was authored to give an answer to one question:

"Was Jesus a Muslim or Christian?" Mr. Mark Selgandr was
interviewed on Al-Gazera Tv channel to discuss his seminal
work which "he toiled himself for long years till he authored",
he also says" I have studied the Aramaic language, the language
which was the bible revealed in and the mother language of
Jesus; I discovered that Jesus always presented himself and the
preceding prophet as Muslims and what is really striking is that
the Bible never mentioned the term Christianity. Many ruinous
errors were committed when the bible was translated to the
European languages."

He says that the standpoint of the Christian world towards Islam

is the result of their unawareness of the Holy Quran. To prove
this he invited two 200 Christians missionaries and told them he
would recite before them some verses from a certain holy book,
he didn't tell them which book it was, they thought that he
would recite from the New testament, he recited the following
verses from Surat" Al-Amran:
"Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad
tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the
son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and
of (the company of) those nearest to Allah; (45) She said: "O my
Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?"
He said: "Even so: Allah createth what He willeth: When He
hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it is! (47) "And
Allah will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the
Gospel, (48) "And (appoint him) a messenger to the Children of
Israel, (with this message): "'I have come to you, with a Sign
from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were,
the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by
Allah's leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I
quicken the dead, by Allah's leave; and I declare to you what ye
eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign
for you if ye did believe; (49) "'(I have come to you), to attest
the Law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part
of what was (Before) forbidden to you; I have come to you with
a Sign from your Lord. So fear Allah, and obey me. (50) "( Al-
Amran:45-50)

They all were affected and their faces bespoke satisfaction and
happiness and they started to glory the name of God deliriously.
When I told them that these verses are from the Holy Quran,
they were embarrassed and silence overwhelmed the place."

The importance of this research lies in the cultural background

of the author, the author was one of the American leading
figures in the republic party, and he was a rival of the head of
the same party who would stand for the upcoming of the
presidential election.

"I was one of the enemies of Islam to the extent that I sent a
message to the White House protesting that the White House
included the recitation of some Holy verses from the Quran
when President Bill Clinton invited some members of the
Muslim communities to have a meal during the fasting month of
Ramdan." He says

He attacks in his book the double standard approach which the

Christian missionaries follow when they attack Islam, especially
the verses that talk about Jihad, he says that the same word is
used in the Bible( note that the Quran uses the word" Jihad"
which could mean fight& resist while the bible says' KILL'), he
quoted the following verses from the Holy Book as an evidence.

"Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they
have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant
and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass."

( Samuel(1),3:15)

And he also quoted the following verse:

"…and to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him

through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have
ye pity: 6: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little
children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is
the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the
ancient men which were before the house." (Ezekiel ,5:9)
