LIGHTHOUSE would like to say a big thank you to the congregation of Our Lady of Peace for
the generous donations to Lighthouse Craft. They have some really exciting plans for the
unwanted jars, cereal boxes, wrapping paper, Christmas decorations and other contributions.
They hope to contact us after the summer to show us what the children have made. They have
now finished collecting for 2015, so please do not leave any more boxes etc in the Church
porch.
MARRIAGE TRIBUNAL AUDITORS in the Slough area are needed. The work of a Lay Auditor
includes contacting, interviewing and gathering the testimony of a Petitioner, or a Respondent, or
a named witness in a marriage case that is before the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal. If you would
be willing to offer your services to the Marriage Tribunal, to work in the capacity of Lay Auditors
in Slough, please contact Canon Kevin ODriscoll on 01753 543770.
SLOUGH FOODBANK thank all our members and friends for their generosity to Slough
Foodbank. Your donation which they received on 1st July weighed 14.9 kgs which is equivalent
to about 17 individual meals. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. If you chose to
make further donations during the year they would very much welcome products that they are
nearly always low on their list of availability: these are tins of meat, tins of fish, long life milk, long
life fruit juices and instant mash potatoes. If it is more convenient a financial gift would be
welcome, as it would contribute to the storage and transport costs and enables them to buy
some foods to ensure they always give tasty, well balanced food parcels to all recipients. Please
do not include the following products at the present time as they have more than enough to meet
their needs; these are tins of baked beans, chick peas and kidney beans, tomatoes and soups
as well as all pasta type products. For more information please telephone 01753 550303.
