Summer is a time for our New executives to plan and look forward to the
coming year, to help and guide us to becoming stronger in our resolve as Sir
Knights, to foster our principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism in
our relationship to one another, to our families and to our Church. Let us pray
for our elected officers that they may be filled with the Holy Spirit, led by the
Spirit so that we may be one in this great work which we are proud to be called
Knights of Columbus.
We will enjoy this summer break with all its blessings, asking the Lord to
refresh and renew us so that we can come back ready to serve Him and one
another in the love of Christ Jesus our savior.
May God Bless all of us in this summer season?

FAITHFUL FRIARS MESSAGE:
When someone gives us a compliment, nearly all of us feel good. It is
nice to be recognized, even for the little things we do. When the person
who praises us is someone we hold in high esteem, the words of praise
mean even more. Most people liked to be acknowledged for being who
they are, as well as for the special things they have done.
In John's Gospel, Jesus pays each of us a compliment that is extra
-ordinary, Jesus tells the Father that he considers humankind a gift the
Father has given him.
What a concept! The King of kings and the Lord of lords considers us a
gift from heaven. There is little Jesus could say that could humble us
more or could encourage us more than to be thought worthy of such
praise. As we listen to his discourse at the Last Supper, we realize that
Jesus knows what is in store for him. He knows he will suffer terribly and
will die a painful death, but he is ready and willing to suffer all for us, so
that his mission of bringing salvation will be complete. He LOVES us that
much.
We hold a position no other creature holds. What a powerful motivator
for good this should be in our lives.
God bless you all and have a nice summer.
Monsignor Raymond Senger.(Faithful Friar)

FAITHFUL NAVIGATORS MESSAGE:
Worthy Sir Knights:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all that accepted a position on the new
executive and a big thanks to those who did such a fantastic job to make things run as
smooth as they did last year. We are still looking for a faithful comptroller and if you can
take this position please contact myself or one of the trustees.
We have had a number of functions this past spring such as the ladies appreciation
supper and we had a guest speaker to compliment the evening. We had a supper in May to
honor the clergy and this was well attended and we received positive feedback on this.
Thanks to those who served as honor guards at the Decoration Day at Woodlawn Cemetery
and to the honor guard at the mass last Sunday at St Marys to honor our blessed Mother of
Fatima.
At our installation we celebrated the 70th anniversary of our assembly with a cake for the
occasion.
We also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the ordination of Monsignor Raymond Senger
and the ordination of Father Kent Windsor Smith with honor guards at both occasions.
Our condolences go out to the families of Sir Knights Steve Harasymuk and Urban
Donlevy on their passing this spring.
I hope you all enjoy the summer and our first meeting will be on Tuesday the 15th of
September at St Pauls at 7:30pm. Please make an effort to attend and find out what will be
taking place in the New Year for our assembly.
S/K Stephan Reagan

Worthy Sir Knights:
The call from God to be a priest in His Church has been a great blessing. Another blessing
has been the many good people He has placed in my path of faith and service. It has been a
beautiful journey of faith together.
Thank you Brother Knights for being some of those good people whose lives have
touched mine. Thank you for your support and help in these many years. The 4th. Degree
Knights honored me in coming to the 50th Anniversary Mass on June 6, 2015 and acting as
Honor Guards at the Mass. I was greatly moved and touched by your presence.
Thank you for your lovely card and the books on our dear Holy Father, Pope Francis. I am
enjoying reading them.
The celebration was beautiful and most uplifting and a wonderful time to renew so many
friendships.
God's Blessings on you and your families,
Love and prayers,
Monsignor Raymond Senger (Faithful Friar)

Tribute to Steve Harasymuk

Appreciation:
Thank you very much for the values
You have taught me and your patience in doing so.
Thank you very much for sharing with me the principles you believed in and the
trust and confidence you bestowed on me. Your dedication to protocols, transparency,
keeping in touch and caring for senior members is above all measures.
You showed your devotion, dedication, and unselfishness whenever called to volunteer
in all the organizations youve been part of. Your services and financial support will
always be cherished and remembered. Because of these, you will forever live in our
memories.
Reynaldo Meneses. PFN

S/K Steve Harasymuk:

It is not too often that we get to recognise someone who has devoted their life to a
cause worthy of justice and honor. My brother Steve, I believe is one of those
individuals. He was a man of deep prayer, saying his Rosary between three to five times
a day towards the end as well as watching his daily Mass on T.V. when he was not able
to attend in person. He was ever so involved with his church of St. Peter and Paul
Ukrainian Catholic Church, a long time parishioner and contributor to the parish.
When Bishop Bryan Bayda gave his testimony of Brother Steve, I was privileged to be a
sentinel at Steve prayer service that night while sitting very close to the Bishop. As the
Bishop spoke of all the things Steve had done for the church and for the Knights of
Columbus, I notice there were tears coming down the Bishops cheeks. That was a
special blessing for me because of the respect the Bishop and the church has for a
faithful member.
My formal introduction to Steve started about seven years ago at the assembly
meetings DArcy McGee Assembly were having. A number of months latter Steve asked
if anyone could help him with the assembly newsletter and I volunteered because I
thought this would be an opportunity to help and also to get close to this brother. Little
did I know how knowledgeable he was and the kind of sense of duty he portrayed in his
commitment to the 4th Degree as well as his love for the Knights of Columbus!
Most of the members of DArcy McGee Assembly, Steve knew personally and made it a
point to keep in touch with all these people. I am sure all recall a telephone call they
would have had from him or seeing him personally. In my relationship with Steve we had
many such phone calls and spent many hours talking about the Knights and how to
maintain an effective newsletter and how to keep the members informed.
Thank you Steve for being my Father in the Knights, my advocate, my mentor and a
wonderful brother in the Lord for I will truly cherish everything you taught me. Your
friend and brother: Adrien Piche; editor of this Newsletter.
