STEM B Course: Aviation Learning Journey with SKIES

31 Aug 2015 to 2 Sep 2015 3 half days (9am to 1.30pm)
No of vacancies: 10 students
Students are required to attend the STEM Engineering Week Opening Ceremony on 31 Aug
2015 (8.45am to 1.30pm) at HCI SRC Lecture Threatre.
On 1 Sept 2015, you are able to see the Air Force Museum The exhibition area comprise mainly
the outdoor gallery and eight indoor galleries on second level. The theme for the entire display is
Men, Machines and Methods. It tells the story of an RSAF that is dynamic and forward looking,
always at the frontier of technology, a First Class Air force. The museum aims to showcase the
essence of these words through the proud display of our heritage.
On 2 Sept 2015, you will also able to visit the Seletar Airport which operates as a general
aviation airport, mainly for chartered flights and training purposes. Currently, the airport is open
24 hours a day, has a single runway with 27 aircraft stands, has 100 square meters of warehouse
space and can handle 840 tons of freight per day. This historic landmark is being transformed
into a leading-edge, world-class aerospace facility designed to meet Singapore and the regions
burgeoning aerospace needs.

STEM C Course Green Learning Journeys

31 Aug 2015 to 2 Sep 2015 3 half days (9am to 1.30pm)

Students are required to attend the STEM Engineering Week Opening Ceremony on 31 Aug
2015 (8.45am to 1.30pm) at HCI SRC Lecture Threatre.
On 1 Sept and 2 Sept 2015
The focus is Using Science to create a more sustainable environment and future. Students will
be visiting 3 places, namely, Tuas Incineration plant, Oh Chin Huat Hydropnics farm and Lee
Kong Chian Natural Museum.
At Tuas incineration plant, students will explore and learn the works behind how Singapore uses
technology to convert wastes into usable electrical energy to help power Singapore.
At Oh Chin Huat, students will be able to understand the use of technology on creation of food
that is both sustainable and productive.

At Lee Kong Chian Natural Museum, students will embark on a Marine ecology workshop,
where they will be introduced to the marine ecosystem, with emphasis on the coral reefs and
mangroves of Singapore. There will also be opportunities to handle actual museum specimens
such as the knobby sea star, cowrie, stingray, horseshoe crab, and nudibranch.

STEM D Course 3D Printing Design Workshop

2 Sep 2015 half day (9am to 1.30pm)
