David Hayes: The Sentinel Series
Jacksonville, Fla.The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens presents David Hayes: The
Sentinel Series, an exhibition on display November 7, 2015 through October 2, 2016. The
Museum will host Talks & Tea, Art for Two, and Art Adventures surrounding the artists work,
focusing on his geometrically abstract forms. His work has been included in nearly 400
exhibitions in the United States and Europe, and is in the collection of more than 100 museums,
including the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim in New York. This exhibition is on
loan from the estate of David Hayes. Find a list of our events and specific dates below.

You are invited to the Museum to enjoy an insightful talk over a cup of tea and a sweet treat.

ART FOR TWO: FUN IN 3-D!


Saturday, January 9
10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Members $15 per pair, Non-Members $20 per pair
Make art with your little one and enjoy Gallery and Garden visits on the second Saturday of each
month. Students will explore the exhibition David Hayes: The Sentinel Series in the J. Wayne
and Delores Barr Weaver Community Sculpture Garden & Plaza then return to the studio to build
their own abstract sculpture. Open to children ages 3 through 5 and their favorite adult. Class

ART ADVENTURES: DAVID HAYES!


Saturday, January 16
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | Members $10, Non-Members $15
Students will create abstract sculptures in response to the recently-installed work of artist David
Hayes in the J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Community Sculpture Garden & Plaza. Projects
will be completed within one class period. Open to children ages 6 through 12. Class size is
