NMS2000 installation instruction

Chapter 1: Installation Guide
To use the NMS2000, we need to install the OracleXEUniv.exe for the database and the
EoCInstall-rXXXX.exe (XXXX is the version) for NMS2000.
EoCInstall-rXXXX.exe contains the installation for Monitor server and Web server.
When you run the EoCInstall-rXXXX.exe, you can choose the Full installation (for monitor
server an web server) or choose Monitor to install the Monitor Server independently, Web to
install Web Server independently as bellow. And the Monitor server is supported be installed to
more than one server hosts.

The database,Monitor server and Web server can be installed to the same server host. or be
distributed to different server hosts in order to share the pressure. For example, we can run the
OracleXEUniv.exe to install the database on the server host A, and install the Monitor server both
on the server host B and C,then install the Web server on the server host D.

Chapter 2: Database Installation

Since NMS2000 need to operate based on Oracle Database, we need to install OracleXEUniv.exe
firstly. Double click the OracleXEUniv.exe and the install wizard window will display as bellow

Please click the Next to run the install wizard:

Choose the I accept the terms in the license agreement and click the Next button to continue:

Click Browse to change the destination location for the database if you need. Then click Next
and type your password twice for confirmation as below. The password you enter here is used to
log in the database, and you can enter any characters allowed by the wizard:

Click the Next button, and the following window will appear:

Click the install button to load the following screen:

The window as below will appear after a moment. Click the Finish button to complete the
installation.

Chapter 3: NMS2000 Installation

Double click the EoCInstall-rXXXX.exe to run it

Click the Nextbutton and the following window will display:

Keep the default folder configuration or choose a new folder:

Click the Nextbutton,

Click the Nextbutton,

Click the Install button to install the NMS2000

Wait until the progress bar reach 100%a window will display as bellow. Click the Done
button to complete the installation and exit the wizard.

Chapter 4: Run the NMS2000

Step 1: Run the monitor server
Step 1.1 Click the Start(Win XP)ProgramEoCStart Monitor to run the monitor
server

If it is the first time to run the NMS2000, and you have never create any database, please
click the Create button, and type the parameters to create a new database user as below:

DB IP AddressThe IP address of the server host which have installed the OracleXEUniv.exe.
DB Admin Pwdthe password entered when install the Oracle database.

DB User Namethe user name for a new database user.

Set DB Pwd: the password for a new database user.
Confirm DB Pwdretype and confirm the password.
Click Sure and the Add database user success window displays as bellow. Click the OK
button

If it is not the first time to run the NMS2000, and you have already created the database,
please click Connect

Type in the parameters of the database you have created

Step 1.3: Choose the network card and click the Surebutton

The monitor server runs successfully as bellow

Step2: Run the Web Server

Choose the menuStart(Win XP)ProgramEoCStart Web Server , and the following
screen displays:

Type in the parameters of the database you have created, and click Sure to start the Web Server

Step 3: Click the Start(Win XP)ProgramEoCGoto Web HomePage and go to the

login page. Then type the user name :adminpassword :admin

After login successfully, the following window will display. You can use the NMS2000 now.

Chapter 5: Update the NMS2000

Click the Start(Win XP)ProgramEoCUninstall EoC. Click the Uninstall button.

The NMS2000 is being uninstalled as bellow

Until the uninstall finished, the window will display as bellow.Click the Done button to
complete the uninstall.

Run the new version of EoCInstall-rXXXX.exe as the Chapter 2.If the user of database has been
deleted, Pls choose the Yes to ALL button. Otherwise choose the No to ALL button.

Note: If the database user has not been deleted and you choose the Yes to ALL mistakenly, all
the files will be covered. And when you start the NMS2000, you need to delete the database user
created before or create a new database user.
