Solar - The rich history of Solar dates back to 1927when it began as an aircraft manufacturing company, evolving into a gas
turbine technology company in the mid-1940s.Today, Solar Turbines leads the field in mid-range industrial gas turbine engines.
That leadership position is made possible through over 80 years of technological innovations, manufacturing expertise and
customer support. With more than one billion operating hours of experience on land and off shore, Solar continues to provide fully
integrated power solutions that meet customer needs.
Solar is a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc., a technology leader and the worlds leading manufacturer of diesel and
natural gas reciprocating engines, construction and mining equipment.

ICL - Four (4) business Divisions are equipped for Product Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing and EPC projects. We offer Gas
Turbine Power Plants with District Energy (CHP) or Industrial Power with Co-generation. The technology opted is for optimum
Energy-efficiency by cooling Inlet-air to gas-turbines. For Co-generation steam condensing is being done with our Air-cooled steam
condensing systems. ICL saves 100 % water in gas-turbine power plant by using Air-cooled heat-transfer equipments.

Advantages - for Solar Gas Turbines

1. Extensive experience has shown that gas turbines enjoy signicant
availability advantage over competing technologies. And when you need
maintenance, Solar offers an engine exchange program, which can limit
downtime to as little as 24 hours.
2. Independent studies have shown that maintenance costs are lower for our
gas turbines compared with alternative technologies.
3. Gas turbines are smaller and lighter for comparable power output
compared to other power generation technology.
7

4. Noise from gas turbines, being conned primarily to higher frequency

ranges, is easily attenuated, making them good neighbors.
5. Gas turbines normally produce lower emissions, in terms of NOx and
CO, as compared to internal combustion power generation
alternatives.
6. Gas turbines offer the advantage of a high quality exhaust heat
stream that can be used in steam production, drying and other
applications

Leveraging Proven

Technology

The Titan 250 is a familiar machine, yet still a gas turbine like no other
taking the best from Solars proven products. Each advancement builds
on experience gained from our latest and most proven designs, while
adding thoroughly tested technologies in critical areas of compressor
aerodynamics, combustion, advanced materials and cooling performance.
Look at the technologies behind the Titan 250 and youll recognize key
contributions from our most widely accepted products:
Compressor
Section Technology : A 16-stage
compressor produces a 24:1 pressure ratio. Coated
components provide corrosion resistant surfaces for
durability. The four-piece, split-case design allows for
easy field maintenance. Variable guide vanes and
stators permit smooth, reliable starting and
stopping.
Combustion Section Technology : The 14 dry,
lean-premixed SoLoNOx injectors use less fuel than
conventional
injectors
while
providing
lower
emissions. The combustion liner is an Augmented
Backside Cooled (ABC) configuration providing
maximum cooling ensuring maximum durability.
Hot Section Technology : The two-stage gas
producer features internally air-cooled first and
second stage nozzle vanes as well as internally cooled
first stage rotor blades. The design provides
cylindrical blade tips and a rub-tolerant coating for
improved tip control avoiding downtime. The power
turbine is a three-stage configuration utilizing
shrouded blades to maximize efficiency and flatten
the power curve.

Renewable Energy Solutions

Advantages for - Solar - Gas Turbines
1. Extensive experience has shown that gas turbines enjoy a
signicant availability advantage over competing technologies.
And when you need maintenance, Solar offers an engine
exchange program, which can limit downtime to as little as 24
hours.
2. Independent studies have shown that maintenance costs are
lower for our gas turbines compared with alternative
technologies.
3. Gas turbines are smaller and lighter for comparable power
output compared to other power generation technology.

4. Noise from gas turbines, being conned primarily to higher

frequency ranges, is easily attenuated, making them good
neighbors.
5. Gas turbines normally produce lower emissions, in terms of
NOx and CO, as compared to internal combustion power
generation alternatives.
6. Gas turbines offer the advantage of a high quality exhaust
heat stream that can be used in steam production, drying and
other applications.

Solar gas turbines can operate on renewable fuels in either Simple cycle,
Combined cycle, or Combined Heat and Power (CHP) modes

Why - ? - - India needs - Air-cooled Cooling Systems - for Power Generation

for Thermal / Nuclear Plant - - Power-generation
India

in the next few years is going to install 100,000 MWe Thermal / Nuclear Electricenergy. These power plants require highest quantity of water other than any powergeneration systems such as nuclear/thermal, fossil-fuel or natural gas etc. CoolingWater for Condensing-steam in power plant from steam-turbine generators is a subject
matter which needs serious consideration based on following facts.
1. Rivers
2. Natural Lakes
3. Sea Coast
4. Agriculture
5. Ground Water
6. Tropical India
7. Cities Rural
8. Environment
9. Power-generation

Get dry during - Summer and Winter

Non availability in the Country
Long distance Electric Transmission to Main-land
Irrigation is Top-priority, Pumps need Electricity
Already dried-up have Limitations
Water will remain in scarcity because of Climate
Population & Industry needs Water
Needs Protection - to avoid Air-Pollution
Needs Water in very, very Large-quantity

No doubt the power-generation (Electricity) is a major issue for industrialization, growth

but the water is equally important which cannot be ignored. Today many countries who
have installed nuclear power-plant such as France, Spain and even USA are experiencing
great deal of water shortage for cooling-systems.
